@@MyTrustedElectrician personally, where angles can't be met with pre-made solid pieces but kept tight. If I a loft, I always use insulated flexy where I have to to prevent condensation.
Hi mate I'm currently a building services apprentice (electrical electrical designer in the office) and watching your vids has really given me knowledge and makes me think if my designs will work. Keep up the good eork.
Top notch video and review, was looking at core kits today so will check that one out. Did the 18th before Christmas through work and there's enough changes to make it a reasonably challenging exam without knowing the regs well beforehand. Keep the videos coming 😁😁
Those sizes are for plumbers mate, for 32mm, 40mm and 4inch pipes. Loads of manufactures of core drills do hover attachements including makita. MANUFACTURERS LIKE Diaquip Hilti Metabo Makita Milwalke
I see on the brochure on the Marcrist website, you can purchase a 300mm pilot drill for the Dust Extraction Unit. Might be worth investing. I don't understand why it's not included in the kit.
Looked on Screwfix and one of the sets contains a pilot drill bit, but this doesn’t have dust extraction but they should have included the pilot bit. Great video keep them coming 🙂
First class, real world information. Well done on the 18th. I'm due to sit it and, despite all my on-line mocks at 65-75% percent, it looks like a b*****d of an exam. One tip to anyone else - if you are dyslexic ask for the extra 20 minutes 'cos the books is hard to fathom quickly. Still, I guess it keeps the ol' boys at IET employed.
Fantastic work Luke, wall chaser and extraction next then? Particularly keen to learn some magical tricks when working in corners or tight spaces 😉👌🏽 Thanks for another great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just the standard ones you use in any plumbing and a like you can buy a big set of all sizes from screwfit for 10 quid or so mate just stops them from jamming up
Brought this set and the 2nd use in the tooth on the 117mm broke, back to screwfix it went. I thought it would be a quality set. Instead that day I brought an Eaubur set from screwfix and pound for pound it's been spot on. When I want to use the dust extraction feature I use my bosch core drill set which I picked up from Amazon in for £99. Effortless coring with my Hilti core drill 👍.
Great concept but there is definitely room for improvement. Still, it gets me out of trouble. Ps, I dropped the bix and it exploded inti 30,000 pieces. All the bits now live in a grubby yellow plasterers bucket 🤦🏻♂️
Should of ordered the solid ducting kit from Nuaire. Choose round or rectangular kit and comes with necessary bends and adaptions to fit into the unit. Neat work though. Health and safety bods would love the dustless coring. Good work and great watch.
I’ve got the exact same kit from screw fix and turned up on the job and then realised no pilot bit! I couldn’t believe it, so anyway went back and ordered accessories as they call them direct. One day I’ll actually get do the job! 🙈 Bonkers it’s not included though. If your spending that much your not going to mind an extra 20 quid or so on top to have the bits in the kit.
Word to the wise, I taped up the holes on the extension to get better suction. Though it was a good idea at the time But henry relies on air flow to cool, so when it blocks he get hot and dies. So leave the holes open. Getting a vac with a bypass now. A core drill like ddm3 is a good idea if you drilling alot of holes.
How much extra would it have cost them to include a pilot bit? It really annoys me when manufacturers omit essential parts, especially from decent manufactures such as this. Good idea it being slightly larger diameter though. Great workmanship keeping the outlets lined upon the outside. Cheers.
Breeze blocks and plaster, not so bad, we had to core drill some engineering bricks on a 1960's house for kitchen and small toilet extractor. That was fun!
Talking of dustless, did I once see a short vid of you using an Armeg box sinker, I can't find it now but would like to see another demo' if it was you. Thanks for your excellent vids.
Yeah I only did the 1 day with exam and don’t have any amendments. Everyone past easy enough only need 60% to pass and being multiple choice open book can’t see too many competent sparks failing this
The kick back would definitely phase you if you had a proper drill!! :) Also, to get brick out of core hold it face down and hit the side of it with a tickling stick and eventually it falls out as you disturb the dust trapping it in there...
Great video as always :D Thanks for posting Done my 18th edition In November 2018, and i was concerned about amendments being made like they did with the 17th. Reassuring to hear you've not went back for every 17th amendment :D
I have the same dust extractor with my marcrist DDM2 core drill drill. Its a great bit of kit, you need to get the Marcrist 300mm tapered pilot drill bit, its much easier with that.
It's been out a while that dust clip on extension thingy. It clogs and the rubber bush falls off constantly once its been used a bit. Get the old Milwaukee core drill for future holes and never look back ;)
I'm not a great lover of installing flexible ducting through load-bearing wall and tend to go with rigid ducting. Flexible ducting in loft spaces and area's to be boxed in.
@@MyTrustedElectrician No worries mate, we're all here to learn from one another. I'm always picking up new tips from you and some of the other vloggers 👍
Makes no odds, the flexi ducting isn’t supporting the structure the same way rigid ducting isn’t. As long as it’s connected right either end it’s no different to having a dryer vented through a external wall 🤦♂️😂
Great vid fella, only criticism is maybe let people know the cost when doing a product review. For people that wanna know the cost is £149.99 @ ScrewFix
Great review but if i was that customer id be really pissed about that flexible hose going across my kitchen, surely solid pipework would have been a much better looking job?
Not bad for a first attempt... I'd only buy one if it came with a pilot bit and I didn't have to keep taking the core bit on and off. It's an absolute nightmare trying to clean up after you've core drilled a hole.
What dewalt ads drill model are you using there and can the extractor be used with other brands. A lot of core bits and the extractor say they need 850w drill to core drill. But I can't seem to find a drill higher than 800w. will this do ? good video btw. I'm fitting a air whole soon.
I see this so much on You Tube, what is wrong with you inches and feet people? You were taught metric measurements at school so WHY do you HATE millimeters?
