Yet again I am indebted to the remarkable Kimberly for finding yet another total blinder. ⭐ She did everything in procuring this rarity. Dusty is interviewed by Host Jim Nabors and Performs Sandra. Other guests include Betty White.
Dusty and Betty-- two amazing animal lovers and protectors-- I'm so thankful that people like that inhabit the earth-- animals are completely innocent-- we domesticated them and the least we can do is care for and protect them in an adult and responsible way-- spay and neuter, people, spay and neuter!
Once again, thank you so much Darren and Kimberly for such a priceless treasure! This TV show highlights, without a doubt, that Dusty had all the necessary elements to return in force to showbiz! Perfect voice, exceptional appearance and charisma, enthusiasm, a great new album...Unfortunately, especially because she didn't have the management she deserved, almost 10 years had to pass until her spectacular comeback with Pet Shop Boys!...The most remarkable comeback, I think! Best wishes, Darren! 🌷💝
Thanks for the continued support Narcisa, much appreciated. Yes, Dusty was still in fine voice in the late Seventies. Her quest for perfection wasn't shared by her Management, Record Companies and their Promotion Department during this period such a shame when the product was still as good as what she was producing.
Barry Krost was an excellent manager for Dusty....he got her back in 1978 with "It Begins Again". He managed A listing stars in Hollywood at the time. It was a shame Dusty parted company with his management company in 1979.
Precious finding, Darren! What times! Dusty looked and sang so beautiful and everything was so relaxed! I liked very much! Huge Thank you, Darren and Kimberly and I wish you a Wonderful Valentine's Day, like the one you just offered us! 💝💕💝💕💝
I love everything about this video, great to see Dusty singing 'Sandra' that I'm surprised it wasn't a single as Dusty performed it on many occasions more than she did for 'A Love Like Yours' - which was her first new UK single in nearly five years. I love both songs but I wish they put 'Sandra' as a single even if isn't necessarily the most commercial but one of the stronger tracks on the album. 'Love Me By Name' is another fantastic track on 'It Begins Again' that I wish she performed live it's beautiful..
I was just making note of the fact that this particular performance has her normal grand gesticulation performance style seated and translated somewhat into a dramatic oratory type of delivery and her facial expressions are very very studied and exquisits
That was fantastic! Really enjoyed watching it! Loved seeing how Dusty engaged with the other guests, especially with Betty White (does she pick cat hair off Betty's blouse?? 🤷♂️) Thank you for finding & sharing this!!😀
wow, yellow suited great on Dusty! (well, anything did, really) it's always a pleasure listening to her, specially since she looks like she's having a good time here. Couldn't help to feel bad for the crying pacarana at the begining tho! Thanks Darren, as usual xx
I wonder whatever happened to singer Randy Richards (also known as Randy Matos). Information past 1978 is difficult to come by. I get the impression that Jim Nabors used his talk show "The Jim Nabors Show" to showcase his gay friends, which I think is great. Dusty aside, they weren't the most talented people though. The talk show lasted just 75 episodes.
Mr.Darren, thank you so much.I heard this song for the first time.Dusty is so beautiful.I like especially her albums,Cameo and Longing. These albums were made around the time of this TV program, weren't they?
@@darren2722 I'm glad to hear from you.I'm not a native English speaker. So,it's too bad I can't understand her talking only a little.but I'm happy to hear her fascinating voice.
I searched a complete list of A&M Records artists on Wikipedia, and Randy Richards did not show up. I know Wikipedia is not gospel truth. I guess he must not have been known very well.
I'm not musical at all, so my observation is very obtuse, but as someone who has listened to Dusty for years, I noticed that she used to have greater range and spontaneity in her voice before the 70s. You didn't know what you were going to hear in her albums and performances. Then she stuck to this elegant, yet predictable style. I'm so frustrated because I'm musically illiterate. I don't even have the vocabulary to express what I'm saying.
