What a wonderful gift for the beginning of the year! It's a delight to watch Dusty singing live as she only does! She is so natural and honest in the interview! Thank you very much, Darren! 🌹💖
Wow....there WAS "a tiger deep inside of her yearning to be free". What a performance & way to start the New Year off. She obviously set Australia on fire. Thanks for including both performances! Just awesome.
I love how thoughtful and careful she is with her answers. She is very, very intelligent and handles her gifts very gracefully, if a bit conservatively. She's smart, talented, ARTICULATE, and 100% committed to what she is doing. And oh so HOT! Thank you for all these videos Darren, I'm newly addicted!
Such a shame Dusty never returned to Australia after1981....they obviously adored her!! She sings All I See is You...so beautifully. The adult theatre she refers to towards the end of the interview did exist but closed in 1983! What was she doing there??? We will never know RIP
Fabulous Darren, thanks for this vid, love it! I'm guessing Dusty spotted someone she new in the audience. When Dusty sings All I See Is You, she widens her eyes and you can hear the happiness in her voice. As she walks across the stage to do the interview, Dusty sticks her tongue out at someone. R.I.P. Dusty, you are a legend! Xx
Only a true fan would notice these gestures and glances! And if you watch a lot of these live performances, you’ll pick up on them! She really knew how to work an audience. I can’t get enough of it. I was too young in the 60s to appreciate Dusty Springfield. I was maybe six years old when she had her first hit. And with me being from the deep South, all my parents listened to was country and western.
Love Dusty! The greatest white singer EVER! Even when the material wasn't up to snuff Dusty always rose to the occasion. Like in this performance. The first song sucks but Dusty tears the shit out of it anyway. Also, it looks like she was still boozing and getting high. No judgement. Thank you so much for posting something I've never seen before.
I'm more inclined to think it's the musicians and backing singers are high and on the booze. The arrangements for both songs give the impression that the musicians can't read music or play it. Under the circumstances Dusty did a splendid job....by the way the first song was a huge hit for T connection in the 1970s
The orchestra backing her are great.....so different to the band backing her on the Mike Walsh Show...the other Australian TV show she did in 1981......they played Preacher Man to a very unusual arrangement
