I'd hold my own umbrella before I'd stand in the rain. That said; I think Queen Maxima is simply gorgeous, and so unpretentious. She always curtsies to other royals especially the elders. So beautiful. King Williem & the Queen just stood there in the pouring rain as the cannon salute went off; with that umbrella failure. Love this couple. Good to get in your flying hours as a pilot license is hard to earn.
Conduct a referendum and do away with the royal family....how can a single family not elected by majority of Dutch people be enjoying state resources....

Here i was impress with william windsor flying helicopter . But then king of holland willem Alexander is flying this huge airplane ! I don't know is it a 747 ? If not i'm sure he can drive it too . This is quite a downpour. He must be a highly qualified pilot to be allowed to fly in this rain. They were a bit short of umbrellas at the top of the stairs. Getting soaked when you have to be somewhere and carry on is quite a problem, especially if it is particularly cold indoors. I trust the hosts were fully prepared for a stop at lodgings to change or had protections in place for brocade and other delicate furnishings that might be sat upon in wet clothes.

Very good looking new machine of the king. So now Boeing 737-700 ( BBJ?) instead of Fokker. Must be wonderful to pilot this beautiful machine himselve.
Bit of a joke with the umbrellas. First one of them blows inside out leaving the royals in the rain and then Wilhelm hogs the umbrella and leaves Maxima in the wet.
This was poorly arranged. Surely when it’s raining, the welcoming reception could be done in a sheltered environment? Even Economy class passengers exit from a plane into a covered connector bridge.
That guy with the umbrella had only one job to do.... good grief... and he couldn't get it right! He must have felt so flustered.... hope he got over it.
Él la conoció en Españá ( Marbella) en una fiesta donde estaba el príncipe y se las pelaron bailando ( ella era gerente del Deuch Bank de Nueva York ) de allí ellos se enamoraron y se casaron. Ella es una persona muy humana que ayudó mucho a la princesa de Japón , hasta la tubo en su mansión cuando estaba depresiva porque no podia tener hijos y ella la ayudó psicológicamente y nació un varón, porque en Japón el heredero debe ser varón y Dios quiso que sea así.
