Dutch was just telling the truth, The match was hellish to watch and such a fall from grace for Ric. Keep up the good work, fellas. I'm loving these vids
if were truly honest though. dutch isn't close the legend flair is...and i love dutch. he is a legend in the business but for people only familiar with the major promotions from about '85 on, Dutch may be a person they hardly know of
Mr. Mantell, you TOTALLY "Hit the Nail on the Head"!!!!! I just turned 71 a few days ago. My body is at least that old! LOL! My brain is still like a very young man. My Son, who is an MMA Referee and Judge tells me when I her fired- up over something, "Pops your not a kid anymore"! That is mean't affectionately. However, as I age, my tolerance for people being disrespectful or being idiots has dwindled! Best to ya',,,,!
Flair is wrong about Dutch. Dutch is a legend period. I grew up watching Memphis wrestling and saw Dutch get down with some of the best including the King and Macho Man Randy Savage. He held multiple titles and sold out arenas at the top of the card. He was a great worker and imo had one of the best working punches in the business. One thing I loved about Dutch is he could make you love him or hate him at the drop of a hat because he was real and believable. Flair can shut his big fat mouth on that one!
At one time in the very early Seventies in NWA Gulf Coast in southwest Alabama and east Mississippi you had three young and aspiring Stars in Johnny West, Sylvester Ritter, and Chris Gallagher. And they grew up to be Kevin Sullivan, The Junkyard Dog, and Dutch Mantell respectively! One of the truly cool things about this Company (which I've never known from anywhere else) as that opposed to Belts or Medallions they gave out Satin Jackets which honored say the victorious City of Meridian Tag Champs.🤔😉🎤🧥🌊☀️🌴🤼♂️B.W.
Having watched flair for over 30 years this match was just sad and embarrassing . That is reality not an attack on flair just like Dutch said in so many words
Jim Cornette thought the match was so bad the only thing he said about it was: "I saw it, and no, I don't want to talk about it." He didn't even say Flair's name. Or mention anybody involved in the match.
I think Flair is going after Dutch because Dutch is doing so much better on RU-vid. You can't pay me to listen to Flair but I don't miss a Dirty Dutch clip and some I watch more than once because it brings back such good memories of growing up on Memphis wrasslin. How many people did Flair take under his wing and they went on to be big stars? Zero? Dutch's list is long starting with Taker, Austin, and Kaine.
I'm your fan, Dutch, and believe me, there are MANY more than 7 of us. Watched you in Jonesboro, Arkansas, all those nights, and every Saturday morning on Channel 5 in Memphis. I was never disappointed!! Heel Dutch with the hat and bullwhip scared the hell out of me. Great memories of the Dutchman!
My knowledge of Dutch Mantell started 25 years into his career with 'Uncle Zebekiah' managing the future JBL in the 90's, and ends with Zeb Colter with the real Americans in 2016, he also booked in Puerto Rico and TNA which i found out from this podcast.. its a consistent career... maybe not as consistent as doing the exact same match for the last 30 years across three televised companies while managing alcoholism and a wandering eye for females... but there you go.
Seems even Warrior came to terms with his age and limitations. His body deteriorated fast so he tried to find a different angle on things. Seems to had made peace with with a few of the guys just before he died.
No kidding! Dutch forgetting he tweeted nice then on FB, “and another thing you old no tax paying woman liker you!” could be the stooge, not “I heard things were said privately” as I take the glass outta Ric’s hand! I need that!
Dirty dutch made himself a legend the minute he wrestled in the mid -south territories I will remember him always as the man who gave the king lawler his best matches.
I actually feel sorry for Ric, he is desperate to stay relevant and he is the biggest Mark for himself. I always thought he comes across as majorly in-secure.
Love Me Some Dirty Dutch Mantell and am totally hooked on his podcasts. so much information about the old days. i first saw Dutch in the late 70's in Chattanooga Feuding with The Macho Man Randy Savage with his whip (Shoo Baby). Have been a fan of The Dutchman ever since. but every time i watch his videos i find myself reaching for my scissors to clip them Loose wild hairs going their own way away from his beard and mustache.
Just coming out Flair couldn't even keep his belt on, he looked like he was trying to keep his drawers from falling down. Right from there the match started bad.
The fact that he is lashing out at those who are giving their true opinions of the match… Especially those in the industry, who have wrestled alongside of him, his entire career… Shows to me, that he knows how bad it was, and is simply trying to cover up his embarrassment with his gimmick. Because, the best thing he could’ve done was let people say what they wanted to say, and continue the charade of believing that it was good. Instead, he’s drawing more peoples attention to the Match and having people who haven’t watched it, watching it simply to see how bad it was. Which is only going to draw more attention and tarnish the incredible career he’s had. He’s like a big child. Who obviously doesn’t seem to care about his legacy and is willing to tarnish it, because he’s afraid that life without his gimmick is going to make people forget about him. And he’s lived his entire life in a dreamworld. Something he’s trying to continue as if he’s in his 20s. And I will give him credit, he looks good for his age. after almost dying and coming out of it, looking just as good as he did… That’s pretty amazing. But trying to kill yourself doing what you did before the near death experience, isn’t going to bring the glory days back. It’s only going to tarnish the reputation that has held up so well over the years and make him look like a parody of himself. It’s almost as if he is living out the movie , The Wrestler. Which truly makes me think he isn’t going to be happy until he dies in the middle of that ring. Because what better way to end the career, then pass away doing what you love. His last match and funeral at the same time. Which, Innoway, you have to respect… But, I don’t think anybody wants to see that happen in front of their eyes.
Dutch Mantell has been legendary for as long as I've been a wrestling fan (35+ years)! Ric Flair knows Dutch is a legend too. He's just throwing weak shade. We love ya, Dutch! Take Shoo Baby to 'Nature Boy' until he cries Uncle! lol
Ric Flair is an old drunk who I would love kicking out of my club as a bouncer. He uses rappers to remain relevant but they suck. Public Enemy, NWA, THOSE were rappers!
Huge fan of Dutch he tells it like is. I echo the irony of Flair calling anyone "a miserable old wrestler trying to make a buck". He drank and wasted all the money he made. He had to take loans from HHH and Vince he was so broke.
I can't believe that two old wrestling veterans are fueding with each other. Can't believe Ric would act like such a heel to Dutch and the fans. Luckily Dutch is here to save the day.
There’s literally no light we’re ric is in the right here not denying he’s an all time great but it’s super unfair the way he treated Dutch for pretty much no reason just know sir you do have a legacy and are a legend and your only putting yourself out there more with the podcast but hey I’m only 17 and I love your stuff so you timeless man!
Nobody likes to grow old you loose your muscle tone , size hair hair color and you can do the moves that you once did but at least you had memories so love that got to live a great life
Apparently I was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame three years ago and didn’t realize it. My postman was also inducted due to his allegiance to me. I guess Ill just use it on my résumé’
I just try to watch Ric last match and i couldn't it was just horrible and embarrassing i just skip most of the match and just saw the ending i thought Ric was about to die
At least when Dutch makes a buck it goes into his pocket. When Dick Flair makes a buck it goes straight into the pocket of Conrad, an ex wife, or the bar owner.
Ric is so narcissistic that he has to start enough drama to make himself the center of attention at the HOF ceremony. He is doing more than dragging Dutch, who has always been a gentleman every time I met him, he is stealing the show from Muta and all the others that are set to be inducted. It’s supposed to be their night. Ric put it in perspective when he talked about cutting his hair and going through the airport unnoticed….. or when he was pranked and the guard asked how to spell his name and he replied “f.a.m.o.u.s”. Flair should fade out before he is more famous for bad headlines, drunken tirades, and more closeted sexual assaults!!!
In all seriousness, Fliehr, aka Flair, is a serious alcoholic and egomaniac. I loved him back in the day, but now he's pissing all over his own legacy, and that's sad. Ric, you are no longer the man.
Out of respect for Flair and his legacy, Jim Cornette wouldn't comment on Ric's last match. What does that tell you? When a guy's biggest cheerleader doesn't want to give an honest opinion in public?
The uselessness of twitter. Both guys are awesome and should be respected. What good has Twitter ever done. Mind your own business which is the exact opposite of Twitter.
What I think it is is that you (Dutch)are looked at by most with a great deal of respect even the ppl that you don't get along with even respect your and will listen to what you have to say regardless because the respect. But he (Rick) has burned a lot of bridges and his actions have really turned ppl away from him. There's many reasons why the fact that he can't realize that his time in the spotlight is over (it should be anyway). And the fact that he is still trying to relive his glory days is painful to watch because no one wants to watch someone die. But what the f$$k do I know I'm just a old wrestling fan wish wrestling was a tenth as good today as it was when you guy were running the rds.
