I had rounds 1-3 and 7-9 for Bivol and 4-6 and 10-12 to Beterbiev. So basically 6-6 draw, although round 8 couldve gone to Beterbiev so 7-5 Beterbiev isnt crazy to me. Close fight!
i had it 1-3 bivol 4-7 beterbiev, 8-10 bivol and 11-12 beterbiev also 6-6 draw but then some people count 10-10 rounds so ... could go either way i guess
I don't think people would be complaining as much if it wasn't for the 116-112 scorecard. I'm glad it wasn't a draw, but boxing judges always seem to find a way to make it seem like a robbery, even when it isn't.

Preach. DAZN was biased asf. Beterbiev was the aggressor, forced the fight and won the championship rounds. He worked out Bivol in the second half of the fight and Bivol was covering up for the last few rounds. Another 1-2 rounds and Beterbiev would have stopped him.

Amazing high level fight, edge of the seat stuff from round one. Hard to explain to casuals, I had it a draw but I can see Beterbeiv winning too, does a lot of underrated stuff a casual eye doesn’t appreciate.

It was round 7 I think where Bivol lit Beterbiev up with a huge combo landing bombs consecutively clean and Beterbiev just ate it then opened up with first a push jab that knocked Bivol off his center then just kept coming the rest of the round with punches that I thought, oh my this guy is legit horrifying.
He didn’t win 3, he didn’t win 7/8 you can’t give a man around for getting slapped about two minutes and only coming on strong in the last minute. 12 is debatable. Bivol should’ve won imo
For me Beterbiev was the clear clear clear winner. Bivol ran the whole fight. He was scared to exchange with Artur because he felt the power and started running. Frazer update: is he’s had surgery for a broken jaw and cheekbone. Doesn’t need plates and will be back in the UK Soon. Nothing major beyond that that fortunately & looks like he’ll end up fighting again in future
114-114 on my card. At final bell I thought it’s a draw or if there’s a winner it’s Bivol - so surprised at Artur getting it. Such a terrific fight though, elite level boxing.
If you think Bivol won I suggest you rewatch the fight without sound. Bertabiev 7-5 is fair. Relentless pressure and damage > aesthetics/30 second flurries. Punch stats have Bertabiev ahead also. What are people confused about? Bivol lost it by not fighting in rounds 10, 11 and 12!!!

Beterbiev won a close fight. He was the consistent aggressor and landed the more spiteful shots. He didn’t look hurt at any stage during the fight whereas Bivol did. Respect to both men 👏
Artur edged the win, his punches did more damage and he dominated most of the fight with his aggression and ring generalship. Close fight anyhow, I don’t understand the ‘robbery’ nonsense, pretty close in the end, could have gone either way

I had bivol winning. He landed the cleaner more effective punching and threw more combinations. Berterbiev came alive in the second half of the fight and his corner knew he had to step it up but thought bivol did enough to win.
Beterbiev is amazing, he's maybe my favourite "must-watch" fighter in Boxing, there's no shot he breaks the P4P Top 3. What those 3 fuckers are doing across weight-classes that aren't even their own is absurd. Beterbiev is very much the best-of-the-best in his own weight class but P4P should value changing weight classes and continuing to dominate.
Bivol fan here, bur I thought DAZN's bias was appaling. Ade was damn near tearful, about Bivol's loss. Like really? C'mon man. I was disappointed with that. It was close, but it was not a blatant win. I had Artur by two. Ade and a lot of the rest couldn't understand. Lot of bias, even in the slow mo replay. I get it: Bivol beat Canelo, he's bigger, but there was nothing wrong with Artur winning.
Bivol sat in his guard and took shots on his gloves, you can’t coast your way to undisputed. If you want the belts go and rip them away from your opponent. Beterbiev fought like he wanted everything!
Most people had a preconceived notion that if it goes to a decision that Bivol would win so there was already a confirmation bias by the time the final bell rang but rewatching the fight with no commentary it was easily Beterbiev who won more rds 💯
Pound for pound is always subjective and down to preference. No matter what, there will be always be an argument. As for the fight I don’t believe 116-112 is crazy at all. I had it Beterbiev 115-113. Eddie Hearn is funny, that judge who had AJ winning against Usyk. That was awful scoring. where’s eddies same energy. He’s taking the piss. So why is it crazy for the one of the judges to have one more round to Beterbiev. Especially when the rounds are super close. After round10 I had it 5-5. Then Beterbiev stepped up to win 11 & 12. Credit to both men, both warriors. As fans we can only be grateful.
Great fight,I picked Bivol to win on points or late TKO,But Beterbiev showed he is much more then a puncher,I think Bivol lost the fight in the last 2-3 rds,i had it Beterbiev by 1-2 rds,This fight reminded me of James Toney vs Mike McCallum at times,proper chess match.....Run it back ASAP
Beterbiev has to be 1 p4p. He’s 40 and he just beat Bivol who was p4p 4 who beat Canelo who was p4p 1. We rarely see 3 P4P fighters face each other and 2 of them were in their prime and the guy who was out of his prime has come out on top
Bivol inactivity affected him but that was due to the pressure of Beterbiev. His flurries were not enough to clearly give him some rounds which he allowed Beterbiev get back in…n the Judges look at how the ops reacted to your work which Bivol was getting pushed back visibly
Beterbiev put soo much pressure on bivol and took all his best shots and he barely looked phased, bivol simply couldnt afford to take any of beterbievs shots. Everyone saying shots on gloves dont matter are just fucking insane. Those shots hurt, and it was pretty evident last few rounds bivol was on survival mode.

Dazn commentary was so biased that I had to put music on the side to not hear them , it was close fight but I had Beterbiev 7-5, better power shots and amazing pressure never backing from the fight plus good defense, only got hit nicely around 2/3 times in a 12 round fight

What’s crazy for me personally is…if I was Bivol’s coach I can’t see myself telling him to fight any different he fought a nearly perfect fight but I still edged it to Artur….he hits too hard and even when he gets hit he keeps moving fwd
Ade watch the video of the fight again. I scored it 8-4 for Beterbiev. So 116-112 is not outrageous as being screamed by Eddie Hearn and many others particularly the hosts, analysts and commentators who are either in denial or shocked that they never assumed they could be wrong in all their predictions.
Running it back will achieve nothing only the same controversy because they guys are so equally matched that whoever wins the close fight the others side will claim Robbery..they are 2 fighters of another dimensions..Stuff the people saying oh bivol definitely won it beterbiev definitely won..shut up…both could have won the only issue was the 116-112….
I'm team Bivol but Beterbiev won that fight 116-112 Bivol won the first 3 rounds and the 9th but Beterbiev won the mid to late rounds he was walking him down a few times he looked like he might go on to get the stoppage.
I agree with Ade on how a fight gets sold, people bang on about past greats whilst saying the fighters should talk more, very few past boxers were like Ali they were very quiet, their job was to fight and the promoter well promotes
What a brilliant and absorbing fight. Arguably Bivol was better than he was against Canelo but had to be as Beterbiev was relentless. I had Beterbiev by 2 rounds but all the rounds were competitive and interesting. Top class chess match.
I hate the moving style, I like the come forward style , but bivol won that fight , beterbiev couldn’t land anything real and bivol stood his ground at times and landed the cleaner shots, the rounds beterbiev won were just on aggression alone and throw away punches on the glove , where as the rounds bivol won were on clean punches , even the rounds beterbiev won, he ate more clean punches , but there just wasn’t enough to outweigh beterbiev constant pressure and glove punches

The judges don't reward the fighter who doesn't look like they're in control, is getting the ring cut off, is clearly changing their gameplan based on what is coming back at them, and is showing signs of damage. Groupie mentality and calling it a robbery is undermining the good work Bivol did, I'm sure he'll be able to adjust in the rematch, but he did lose the fight. It looked close because he landed clean and had flurries, however that just isn't enough 🤷♂️
I really worried for Frazer in that moment when his face looked like he'd had a stroke almost. Wardley throws with arguarbly the most bad intentions of any heavyweight today and once he has you hurt he really is one scary man. Chilling finish.
This fight did not need hype, with the lack of banter between beterbiev and bivol and all the shenanigans that goes with fight week , everyone knew the calibre of both men and what to expect and it delivered. Some fights need a circus , some don't. Before the fight people where split on who wins . And it seems it's the same after aswell. Picked beterbiev but can see reasons for bivol .if it went to bivol so be it. Thats how close this fight was . Either man could of got the nod . Go again I'd say . Great fight. He saw the same fight as me and many others. Bivol lost clearly, it was just for the first 3 feel out rounds that Bivol edged and made it a close score. The real fight Beterbiev won clearly and also took the championship rounds
I think Whittaker is similar to Josh Kelly in that much of what he was doing he was able to do on the way up. But as he goes up and competition gets more intense, the test is whether he can carry on doing that or whether he gets his armour pierced. Let's see what the future holds and whether he goes the way of Josh Kelly or if he can transcend that.
2:05 I don’t think it should be what style a person likes. I predicted Artur to win and I favored his style in the fight but after what I saw yesterday, I believe bivol won 7-5 possibly even 8-4. 116-112 For Artur is going far.
Definitely run it back, for those who watched it on dazn Eddie made sure he's team commentary was in favour of bivol tnt was more pro authur and sky sports was neutral where both sides of the commentary was split
That’s exactly the problem… so many have a personal interpretation of what is effective aggression. Landing on the gloves do not score, and the cleaner punches were from Bivol. So many of Beterbievs shots did not score cleanly at all (watch it back), so for me , I cannot see how forcing a guy back without landing scoring shots can be classed as effective aggression
People are obsessed with the judges score cards in this era, That was the best v the best at 175 by a mile, close looking fight by 2 technically brilliant boxers, but ask your self this who would you rather be at the end of the 12 rounds, I thought Beterbiev was starting to take control and Bivol was slowing and getting hurt by that constant pressure in the last two rounds, no robbery for me the right man won.
If Usyk beats fury in rematch I think Usyk Vs Beterbiev at cruiser would be a major fight. They have history and everyone would love to see it. If not and Fury wins and I think he will beterbiev should do rematch or fight Opitia at cruiser
I kept saying Bivol would have to be perfect for 12 rounds to win this fight, Beterbiev would need a knockout/knockdown to win. It’s not easy to score fighters who have a reputation of finishing their opponents, if they go 12 rounds. There’s always some biases towards them.
The moment I saw the Chechen president there and Turki was angrily screaming when BIvol hit Beterbiev, I knew Bivol was never allowed to win. Even Beterbiev's corner said they needed a KO to win. Now they're pretending they didn't land on Bivol's arms all night and only won the rounds Bivol took off.

Thats your very subjective view. Imo and many others, beterbiev split bivols guard. There were so many close rounds and depending on what you like you could go for any man. They had almost the same punch stats but beterbiev was the aggressor and bivol took too many rounds off the last 25% of the fight, i could see both fighters having good reasons to think they won, I had it a draw

2 things I see about this fight: If the judges gave the fight to Bivol very few people would be asking for a rematch at this point, however since this wasn't the case I have not seen one single person who thinks a rematch is not necessary. I didn't feel Beterbiev and even Marc Ramsay were confident in his victory, Ramsay even said after the fight it could have gone either way. Great fight, can't not really call a robbery but somehow judges always find the way to make boxing look bad, that 116 - 112 card is just ridiculous.
A draw was the correct call. Had Bivol up 6-4 after 10 but Beterbiev done enough in the championship rounds to claw back the draw. 114-114, immediate rematch needed. 1 judge had it right.
