9/10 for me, but we all have different tastes, I have friends that drink Bud lite and I would rate that 1/10 haha. Cheers, I will stop spamming your review now haha.
Consistently the most informative and detailed beer reviews on the market. I have had this particular beer and you have nailed it 100%. Your reviews are my go to site amongst many, with the welcome addition of knowing I would certainly enjoy a couple of hours leaning on a bar talking toot with you Paul. Well done sir, keep up the great work
First time I tried this was like the first time I tried an ale with a bit of flavour. I hated it lol! Second time I tried it was a whole different story. Its a huge beer, that doesn't mess around, but it's one you can savour and not really get bored of. I love the depth of aroma and taste, the warmth of the alcohol, and there's a lovely sweetness that counteracts the bitterness. One thing it reminds me of is Old Navy sweets with the herbal notes.
I must admit I found this one really hard going for years ... until recently. I had always assumed it would work best as a starting beer, but I've now found that as a last drink of the night I can finally enjoy it! (I had a similar experience with Fuller's ESB.) Anyway, appreciate the honesty, mate -- cheers! 🍺
🤣🤣im 47 this year so i remember those little chef sweets!! You bought back n old memory! This beer for me is a top notch although strong belgium beer - i grab one every now n again and im always happy cause its a bit different to the run of the mill beers- last one i had was in istabul just before xmas last year believe it or not and really enjoyed it . Cheers🍻 just to add le cheuffe trumps this for me tho hands down.
Should be a Paul scale for beer (like the scoville scale for chilli). Referencing taste, cost, availability etc. Thanks for doing the taste tests for us.
The original glass has a sanding in the bottom, which makes the bubbles ‘chimney’ up the middle of the glass. I’m Belgian, and it’s Belgium’s most favourite strong blonde…
@@paulsbeerreviews it's not as good as this imo. I agree with you on the golden draak or the golden draak 9000 quad, both fantastic. Lidl sometimes do a great box of 8 Belgium beers including the two draaks.
Just tried it for first time. Crikey its strong n tasty but i need to let it warm out as a comment mention best practice 😮 i not had Belgium beers before so would be interesting to taste whats better out there.
For such an esteemed beer it's actually quite shockingly bad but I suppose you ought to expect that from a brew that lists sugar as one of it's ingredients. Sugar! WTF? Pfft!
