I've got a pretty good idea why Karen might like Rose best of the previous companions: Count the number of seconds Karen's laughing! Rose had that same 'enjoy everything' attitude. It lightened the show up a lot and made it much more fun to watch. That's part of why Karen's shows as Amy are so fun to watch. Even in episodes where the worst things happened, Amy found an excuse to laugh her head off, or make fun of somebody.

Omg Karen still claps for herself even now, just watched her British Vogue interview. The weeping angels are indeed the scariest because they took away Amy and Rory, and I can never forgive that! I miss 11 and the ponds so much!
