MotorCityPhoenix313 I dunno. She was pretty awkward and stiff in her first appearance and became MUCH more relaxed and natural with each subsequent one. Until the last one where it's like they've known each other FOREVER and are just two old friends chatting.
Three friends married women from different parts of the world..... The first man married a Greek girl. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.... The second man married a Thai girl. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.... The third man married a girl from Scotland . He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. The first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything either but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he urinates.....
kind of reminds me of one of Amy and Rory's best exchanges, from A Good Man Goes to War to Rory as he's about to charge into battle as The Last Centurion: -you let them all die first, okay? Rory: -you're so Scottish. p.s. keep in mind that one of the people she wants him to let die first is The Doctor himself.
The Doctor doesn't die, he regenerates. That's the myth she believed at the time, anyway, that he would always regenerate instead of dying. Unless it was after Utah. Can't remember. Been a while.
Can we all appreciate how frugal she is. Very Scottish. Her first dress was clearly something she already owned, the second one she bought in a vintage store and the third one she borrowed. Scrooge McDuck would be proud
*_"Can we all appreciate how frugal she is."_* Can we all stop making stupid comments like we are asking a retarded question of people who can actually hear us? And all the while forgetting the question mark? {:o:O:}
she is ridiculously gorgeous, her personality, her height. its a shame Selfie was cancelled. such an underrated show. she and john cho had great chemistry
It was great how Craig put her at ease by mimicking her nervous rocking back and forth. 12:27 "The storm's pickin' up a bit!" "Oh no! Let me get to the Tardis controls!" 😊
Craig, stalwart defender of the belgian and connaisseur of beers, first showed his true colours on this interview, and even got the lovely Karen to wave the belgian flag. For this he was knighted and awarded several statues in parks and in our royal palace (we replaced the old statues on previous kings), and the undying appreciation of the entire belgian nation. ALL 50 OF US STILL LOVE YOU CRAIG!
Acting is a lot about truly feeling like one's character, and building up real emotions; if you are good at those things, then you have excellent potential as an actor, because it is those things that make you appear convincing in your roles. Of course, it is also very important that you actually like your character.
@@Peter_1986 There are different approaches to acting. And different levels of challenge depending on the role. I mean, some people are just good at mimicry and can express emotions without feeling them...and some roles only require you to say the lines as if they're your own thoughts, and don't require much emoting beyond that. For some people, that's easy enough without getting too deep into character. But a lot of actors and roles require more to get to a convincing place, and that's where various methods come in. Oh, and sometimes the tone that's called for is so heightened that believability isn't even a goal. Sometimes melodramatic or comedic timing and cadence is more important, for example, than verisimilitude.
It's the shoes. Being tall doesn't make you unsteady on your feet, but platform high heals need to be shown respect or you'll end up on your arse in a most inelegant manner.
@@deaddoll1361 Well she's still rather tall for a girl. I believe she's 5'10". Maybe even 5'11". She was almost my height when I met her. Got a few good stories about that one lol.
These non-american guests are the absolute best. Bringing together the usual stuff from Craig but also the minute stuff that spruces life into the smallest things. God Bless Craig. EDIT: omg, the all "parking" and "belgium" joke it's so hilarious, OMG.
The day I don't look at a pretty girl, push me over and put me 6 feet under on the spot! It'll be a sure sign I'm already that dead that I didn't even notice anymore!
it's actually quite remarkable to watch these all in a row. her first appearance was pretty awkward and stiff, but by the last one they were like old friends. I heard somewhere she's pretty shy and awkward in real life, perhaps due to basically being a small town girl (her hometown, Inverness, is apparently the smallest city in Scotland).
inverness may be the smallest city but it’s definitely not the smallest area of scotland. inverness has a population of like 46000 and i live in a small town with only 11000 and maybe it’s just bc i’m used to somewhere smaller but inverness always seems pretty big when i visit it lmao
I imagine that's just her personality. She struck out from home when she was 16 *and* made it in Hollywood. She may appear shy and awkward, but really she has to be thickskinned, confident, and assertive to have accomplished that.
I've actually been to Inverness. Scotland is so beautiful. Especially the highlands. Inverness sits at the top of Scotland and then you take a road going south that runs along all the lochs.
11:26 - Craig thought Karen meant the body parachute where you open your arms and side flaps act like the parachute so you “fly” like a flying squirrel, but she meant the air machines that blow air and you float on it about 15 feet in the air.
This is one of few guests I don’t remember seeing back when Craig was on CBS. It was & will always be my favorite show of all time. Anyhow she’s a fantastic guest, love her flittering, nervous energy & adorable personality. Not sure how I missed her appearances years ago! -JLF as always, thank you for being *the* keeper of the CF archives :)
Karen Gillan is not only beautiful, but she is surely very talented, the many expressions her face can make... I enjoyed these parts a lot with a big smile on my face!
I absolutely adore Karen Gillan! She is so very cute, natural, and sweet! Basically just absolutely adorable! i love her Scottish accent and her laugh and smile!!!
I like Craig's style of being confident around women that women feel comfortable around him to the point that they can flirt with each other without crossing the line... guys can learn from him... Craig can be suggestive with women without making them feel violated... The total opposite of Conan, the total nerd of late night TeleVision...
Karen is cute, sweet, and absolutely adorable! I love how natural she is and her adorable sense of humor! I also love her beautiful red hair! She is also very beautiful! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
"Very serious"... Cut to William Hartnell smugly misidentifying a haunted house carnival attraction as inside the human mind. Yeah, no, the show always had a fair amount of self-aware silliness. If you remember it otherwise, you probably haven't seen it with adult eyes. Comedy and whimsy were always part of the show. Not the only part, but it still isn't.
I'm extremely bothered by the fact he immediately poured out aw the water and then both of them tried to drink from the coconut even though it was dumped out all over the desk already
The magician that Craig saw at the Magic Castle was an argentinian ilusionist called René Lavand. He was unvelievable virtuous in his craft, and was very popular here, and obviously around the world.
I've watched this before but they're both great. But I saw Karen in an interview recently and I forgot she's about 18 or 19 here. She's calmed down a lot and matured. Still lovely and funny and smart.
@@danellis-jones1591 Well, she certainly looks like she's 18 (or younger) in that video. Especially on her first appearance. And acts like she's 14. But that might just be a character she's playing here. You know, the naive and childish girlie... I'm glad Craig didn't say "come to Daddy" this time. But then it's just comedy and I can laugh about it. It might be different in the US though.
Beautiful girl with awesome hair, super sweeet and when she gets to be part of the Marvel Universe, they make her bald, face painted, completely unrecognizable and a tortured sociopath.
In my otherwise, doom filled, gloomy day, something has pulled me up from the abyss known as my shattered and lonely existence. That something, is the lovely Karen Gillan. And for that, along with my favorite talk show host, I thank you The Jayleno Fly.
Karen is so beautiful. I remember seeing a older Doctor Who episode that she was in. I didn't know her as I wasn't a big Who fan. But her adorable look and intensity was very unique and I was hooked. She is quirky, funny, and again adorable and beautiful. She's amazing!
