Such a useful video Cliff. Its great to see a builder re-engineer and change things during a build to make it better or to suit their personal taste. Modeling is the part of model aviation that so many folks learning today unfortunately don't learn. It amazes me the things some people on forums complain about when assembling a BNF foam airplane. They have no idea how really easy they have it. I like building, and always modify ARF's...and occasionally foamies to suit me. Your love for building is obvious, and your expertise is too. I like how you screwed the windshield on...so many kits/ARF's call for gluing them...I like to make them removable so if I need to take it off to get better access to work on something else I can. Pretty much everything you did with this one makes sense and betters the finished product. Nice covering job! Great video!
Thanks Adam, there is a percentage of flyers (albeit small) who are now getting into building and repairing their models so all is not lost 🙂 The plan calls for a screwed on windshield, I added a couple more screws for good measure, then, being longer, they came right through the post ... that's one of the things I've reported back to Dancing Wings 👍
Mind the gap! Loving all the details! I really like how the DW motor mount box has right thrust/down thrust baked in because the box isn't actually square by design.
Thanks Koala, the white stripes cover up a couple of iffy bits 😁 I did try bending the stripe on the fuselage but it kept kinking so cutting out the shape I needed seemed a good way forward 👍 It wasn't that hard.
Looking absolutely awesome!!! Cliff , very interesting to watch someone who knows exactly what they're doing, thanks and best wishes from Alan in Sheffield 🤗🤗👍👍👏👏👏
Looks fantastic Cliff, ordered the SIG 1/6th scale Clipped Wing Cub kit for my next Cliff inspired build. Looking forward to the maiden, Salute Jeff in LA USA
@@IansRCExploits Well, it has some but I've got the smaller of the two motors offered with the model so less torque will help, I was thinking a test glide first might be good to make sure it flies nice and level, then open the throttle and see how the model reacts ... but there's no more nice long grass around for a soft landing so I'll probably just 'go for it'!
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes Thank you Cliff. Great set of vids. Just a shame DW didn't sort out that fiddly 'inside -the -wing servo/pushrods design', I did the same as you and went back to basics with external pushrods. I also was suprised that they didn't supply longer servo leads for the back end servos... I've just soldered in some extensions. I also beefed up my wings by running some 3mm carbon tubes spanwise in the rib hole line to match up with that 2mm thru' cabin cross tube. A great series and keep it up :) Thank you.
