I have a PDP concept maple classic kit (wood hoops), which produces a dry sound at a slightly lower volume than metal hoop drums. Do you think this snare would overpower the concept classics in terms of brightness and volume?
I’d grab this snare but no one is telling me how to use the gadget at the bottom (snare bridge) so I don’t wanna pay such a price just to not know how to use this thing fully!
What would you like to know, when it’s new out of the box it works like any other strainer. Changing snare wires takes a little longer as there is a setup procedure etc.
@@IAMDRUMMER sorry I’m late idk how I didn’t see the response. I would like to know more about the bridge at the bottom with the knobs for the bridge. Do you use the knobs to adjust the wires as well, along with the throw off and 3P Butt plate? And say if I was to change the snare wires and stuff like that I’d want to know how to take the bridge off to do that and stuff. I hope you can tell me, or someone because I haven’t even seen one in person yet to try those things out unfortunately.
Great review, first of all!!! Second of all, I’ve been told that the purpose of the snare bridge is to reduce sympathetic snare buzz. What I’m curious to know is how that snare bridge works in conjunction with the 3P butt plate???
Great review.. I was able to get my hands on one recently and I love it.. the only problem I’m running into is the throw-off is coming off on its own no matter how tight I have the tension. Have you had this problem or do you any tips to fix this problem?
You are absolutely right about this snare. It's so versatile and has a big tuning range. This reminds me a lot of my custom Walnut snare I have, but with the properties and volume of a metal drum. Might have to make this my goto live snare and keep the Walnut in the studio.
This snare probably sees more gigs than I have had hot dinners, it's always with me as it's just so versatile and with the wide tuning range it's suits most applications.
Great video ..... I just found a fantastic deal on a brand new D.W. 14 x 5 Chrome over Brass True-Sonic snare drum with the snare bridge ..... the same snare on this video. I bought it. It's tuning ranges are dynamic. It's amazing, as advertised ... so sensitive. Thanks !
So they basically copied the Rogers Dynasonic snare drum? That's pretty cool and even the name suggests it. I think it sounds alot like a Powertone actually. They should have called it the dynatone or powersonic haha. .
Ha ha ha fell the POWWWEEERRRRTOOOONNNNEEEEEEE!!!! The new Rogers are great snare but the early version had this issue where the snare system would jam or only work on one side, DW system fixed this and the Rogers released the new version.
Enrico Garcia Drums Sorey you didn’t like the review, there is actually no effects on the snare. Everything you are hearing is the 320m concrete factory I was leasing.
@@IAMDRUMMER, I happen to like the natural reverb of this recording. It's true you might not want that sound all the time, but as an occasional effect, it's nice. Remember that location for the future, you may find that you would like that reverb sound on some recording you are doing one day.
