"Terrifying" in Dwarf Fortress describes a biome embark area which is both "EVIL" and "SAVAGE". This means lots of vicious animals, giant animals, possibility of zombification or fatal weather, and in this case GIANT ZOMBIE ANIMALS.
Dwarf Fortress is an amazing game in general.

I know there is a possibility migrants can arrive through caverns, but i wonder whether there is a way to force them to use caverns and not surface?

Is there a way to know if a terrifying biome has undead? I have found those are very fun but half the time I cant get one.

Good question! I don't know of a way personally. I'm sure there's some way to comb through the data and figure it out directly, but I think most people will tell you the best/fastest way is honestly just to test each embark. It's unfortunate but also kind of the fun to find out which way it goes, lol.
