My favorite lizards are the dwarf species monitors ,any new information is always welcome ,I have had Timors, Freckled,Green Tree ,Yellow , Kimberly. etc. currently have a new hatchling from a breeder in San Pedro California, a Kimberly Rock Monitor (my favorite) its true that American breeders have raised dwarf monitor breeding to a whole new level and have been very successful thus far. thank you for your informative video . Cheers from Southern California.!

What a stunning little devil. I love big monitors, but something about dwarf monitors just pulls me in. I think it's their unique personality. They aren't like any other lizard I can think of. Most dwarf animals are unique, but not like dwarf monitors. Great video 👍👍

Awesome! As soon as the quarantine lifts and work goes back to normal I need to setup an enclosure for these guys. Store near me surprisingly has one available, not sure how long that's gonna last. Still have to do a new gilleni enclosure too, so I have some work to do

Awesome video Peter! Absolute coincidence as I was watching your much older video on your dwarf monitors earlier today just to get another glimpse of the primordius, its as if you knew. I know you keep these guys in pairs, is that species preference or for breeding purposes for yourself (or perhaps both)? Just wondering how they are in groups, do they fare as well as their larger acanthurus cousins?
@CrittaCam
@CrittaCam 4 года назад
they do well in a group as long as there is multiple hot spots

Great vid, always enjoy seeing your setup for keeping herps. My youngest lad has his heart set on a pair of monitors, but despite suggesting a number of potential options including the primordius he is dead set on Brevicaidas. The only problem is they seem to be a bit like chooks teeth.
@CrittaCam
@CrittaCam 4 года назад
more like Unicorns tears, depending on the state they may have higher licence requirements too

@@CrittaCam 😂 I'm in Qld mate, even if they were on a restricted RWL we could have a pair, just wouldn't be able to breed them. Qld regulations range from ridiculous to draconian.
