(Original airdate: 09/05/01) Dwayne talks about his catchphrase, does his Arnold Schwarzenegger impression, and debuts his new move, "The People's Strudel." Watch more classic clips @ conanclassic.com.
clearly you haven't heard of Jimmy Fallon, the greatest talk show host ever. He does what he wants and doesnt care what his producers or audience think and i guess thats what makes him so great. His laugh is so genuine. He is a real scholar and a gentleman.
@@prashantnegi007 Interesting. He has a kind face and he does genuinely laugh at times but as to him not caring what the producers and audience think, I have to disagree with you. Unless, he has removed politics from his show, he is just another talk show host who spouts leftist propaganda and hate in what they call, "comedy." Conan brings up a political joke once in a blue moon and doesn't force the leftist ideology and narrative down his audiences throats, he focuses on comedy and entertainment. I have yet to hear Graham Norton bring up something political so if he has it just shows how rarely he lets politics seep into his show as well. I don't particularly like comedians or entertainers in general who use their platform to force ANY kind of ideology or political narrative down their audiences throat. Let me be clear, I'm not referring to the few greats out there who may pepper politics into their acts. I'm referring to the ones whose ENTIRE act is comprised of nothing but politics, the leftist narrative, and disgust for anyone with a differing opinion or political view.
Maybe. This is actually post-Rock era as far as WWE goes, and he had a bunch of charisma in the ring at this point. Hollywood is new to him, so maybe he’s treading cautiously here. But to be honest, he’s a lot calmer now in his later years than he was when he was younger.
@@LlamaDrama142 No it wasn't, this was when The Rock was still in the WWF (WWE was called the WWF when this was recorded), and just came back to wrestle again full time after he was gone for 3 months making a movie (I think it was The Scorpion King) but on WWF television programming, Vince McMahon said he was suspended to explain his absence.
@@jerelminter it’s post-Rock in terms of his career. This is a new phase in his life and he’s becoming a Hollywood star. He’s still a wrestler, but he quits just a year or two after this.
Well, in his defense, when this was aired he had a newborn at home and from the way he's fidgeting, I would say he's probably downed a lot of caffeine just to make it to the show in an upright position. A newborn can deflate the biggest of giants.
Yep there were only four episodes with this backdrop that had the WTC and no curtain. New set debuted September 4, 2001, this is from September 5. Innocent times.
its amazing how more comfortable he is being dwayne johnson the public figure now than he was back then, you can definitely see he's a bit anxious and nervous here, but these days he's so cool and confident in being himself rather than just the rock
thats not really what a prophet means but ok.. Conan literally says "theres been talk" that means other ppl were saying that.. months earlier during Rock's cameo in Mummy Returns.
I love how Conan slyly slipped in that he came up with the line “drink a glass of ‘shut up’ juice” by saying “cooking some ‘shut up’ pie, that's what they're cooking”, without directly calling out Dwayne. That's a deft Conan power move, and why he's the best in the biz (since Carson).
I met Conan twice at his show when he was still doing Late Night. He asked if I wanted to fight in the parking lot. Awesomely funny during the commercial break. Immature like a ten year old boy but hilarious. Also pasty white skin under the makeup with a huge Irish Melon. Conan, hands down the best. 👌💯👌💯
The rock seems to be level headed in this interview, usually he is jokey and very easy going. He actually seemed to be more serious, I am glad he had his daughter Simone. She is a beautiful girl. The interviewer was the jokey one. Spirituality is knowing when to be serious and also being level headed.
He was in the mid afternoon of his wrestling career at this point, with some good runs still to come but ultimately on his way out of that world so he could focus on being a movie star.
@@lukasnovak399 Actually I remember Conan mentioned that Whirlgig avoids fighting with a jacked man and only targets young children and old people because he fears getting grabbed by the leg and slammed onto the concrete ground. Maybe he might have a better chance with Kevin Hart.
