I met the rock at a convention I was working at for the video game industry in 1998 right before he became champion for the first time. He was at a table by himself right before the show opened and I approached him to say hello. He talked to me for like 20 min about wrestling, the hotel we were staying at, how I was doing and questions about my family. Dude was so cool and a memory I will always carry with me. Rock isn’t main eventing with Roman this year. He is clearly setting up the main event for NEXT year.. he constantly talks about setting up stories over a long period of time so why would they rush into Rock vs Roman just off of one line towards Jinder Mahal. Wrestling fans need to seriously stop valuing dirtsheets and headlines more than the word of mouth from the actual WRESTLERS. Rock vs Roman will main event Mania 41.

WOW. Can we please google "board of directors" before commenting on The Rock's role? He won't be touching day-to-day operations. Matter of fact, this will limit his on screen and backstage availability tremendously. He'll be busy in board rooms, working with a dozen other directors nobody has ever heard of, on decisions that directly affect stockholders and not viewers. There is way more to WWE than its television product and anything else that is visible to the general public. This is only news because of his name and history with the company.

The Rock got his name back not bad he may have got a seat on the board of directors. But I guarantee Dana White and that bored has put a ton of restrictions and everything to make sure that he can't make any real major decision. And that's due to what they had to put up with with Vince. The Rock does not know how to run a wrestling promotion. What he does now is the Hollywood side of things which is good. But they'll keep triple h in charge. And I guarantee you will not see the rock back on TV for quite a while after this whole bloodline thing after WrestleMania.

I'm happy for the wwe. They are really growing. But...argh, for me it just feels like a different company. Vince shouldn't have sold it. He should've just gracefully stepped back, allowed HHH to be the booker, Stephanie and Shane to be chairpersons of the board, and nick khan to be ceo. And Vince should've just stayed on as a creative consultant, because creatively, he's an asset, but his ideas need to be filtered. 2021 and 2022 were great years for wwe creatively. So Vince wasn't always bad. Anyways, now wwe just feels like this company that's been taken over by elitists. People like the Rock who are out for fame and validation from other people. Wwe used to be a safe haven for people who don't like the "in" things in society. It was a safe haven for people who liked something different. Wwe was always something that was just different, because the owner, Vince was just a different kind of guy. Sure, he made his mistakes, but Vince always felt like one of us. Imperfect, awkward in some situations, emotional in others, funny...most wwe fans could connect to him and more importantly, to his product. But in the end, his biggest flaw did him in. And his biggest flaw is not his love for women. His biggest flaw was never appreciating who he was and what he had. He always wanted to be seen as more than a wrestling promoter. And so he sold out his family's legacy and inheritance just so he can be seen as more than a wrestling promoter. Soon, the wwe will not be recognizable, because the owners, especially the new member of the board, don't have an identity themselves. They are just clout chasers. Always quantity over quality. The Rock's movies do well in the box office, but is he really a quality actor? Wwe was bought by marketers. They'll sell it like Kennedy in 1960, like snowflakes. But will it still be our wwe? Without an identity, I fear that our wwe is slowly fading as more and more people who have been a part of it for decades leave. It sure was fun while it lasted though. Thank you Vince, for all the memories.

Yes, I remember when wrestling was merit based . It was some much better. Everyone knew and understood the business unlike today. Love the show but guaranteed contracts haven’t helped the business.
