D. Wade getting his meniscus removed before his career even started and still having a top 3 career all time at his position is one of the wildest athletic feats I've ever heard
All those surgeries were related to knee maintenance issues stemming from the arthritis that developed in his right knee after having the right knee meniscus removed. People act like his style of play shortened his prime. He never tore a ligament or tendon in his knee during the nba. He could of just been a jump shooter, 3 and D guy, and still would have had all the knee swelling issues because he doesn't have a right meniscus for cushioning anymore. It's pretty amazing he came into the league with arthritis in his right knee already, and he still dominated with a physical two-way player style. His only major NBA injury was the shoulder injury he had before the Big Three. Thankfully medicine has progressed and now they usually repair the meniscus instead removing them when working with athletes (russell westbrook for example). For most patients, they still just remove it
I’ll never get sick of people talking about that 75th anniversary team. The NBA does such a great job celebrating their players. It makes them look like superheros.
Yea it was. To do it that early in his career against a veteran team like the Mavericks. He was literally the only scoring option and still couldn’t be stopped. I was mind blown someone that young could that.
I'm taking d wade over kobe. D wade walked in the league and took passed his prime shaq to a title. Kobe had prime diesel and lost for 3 years before they won. And shaq was always finals mvp d wade was finals mvp over shaq
Dope interview. Great to see Melo have a chance to provide his close friend, D. Wade, with his flowers and platform to highlight his career. Love to see brothers showing support for each other!
To me one of the best interviews Melo has EVER had because he got to get a little vulnerable with one of his brothers. Loved every mintue. DOPE!!! #Salute 2 of the 75
I remember when the had Monica mcnutt on there at the end the was doing the outro. An melo was like “the human Durag flip flap; whatever tf you be saying” lmao 😂 that had me crying 🤣😭😭😭 they be lit of the 1800 lmao 🤣 that’s why melo be cracking up so much at bro 😭 yo is a hilarious guy too S/0 to Mero mannn lol 💪🏾
I love that 75 moment D-Wade & Melo shared seeing all those phenomenal players in one room & the way it's described I know it's something magical fans & media didn't witness
Yea this had to be the be the best episode hand downs. This was a hangout not really a podcast interview. You could feel the energy in this episode it was so natural and genuine. Melo and Dwade really do have a bond and great brother connection . Good episode I laughed the whole time 😂
I followed DWade since his days at Marquette all the way to Miami. I flew from Bmore to Miami to see him play and when he played in DC or Philly, I went there too. I’m in my late 50’s and he’s still my guy. Sickening😂😂
this is one of the best basketball-related pod I've ever watched/listened. Melo and Wade together hits different, they're both mad comfortable with each other so they open up differently
@@praveen921 no. Jerry West played PG more and Gail Goodrich ran the 2. Not to mention if we put him as a point guard, absolutely nobody would have him ranked in the top 5 as a PG. I mean go watch some J West footage. It was a completely different game. Rank West with his contemporaries, same with Wilt. Being the logo to the league is plenty recognition, it's not disrespectful for newer players to be better. To be honest I don't put pre merger players in the discussion because they aren't as good, straight up. That's not a slight, it's just a fact. What would we compare? Pace was way faster back then leading to inflated stats vs mid 2000s players. The competition wasn't as good as today. Different rules. Dudes could hardly even dibble. It was primitive compared to today's game.
Shot 60% From The Mid Range In The Playoffs His ENTIRE career 💡 .. What We Talking Abt . Best Shot Blocker At The 2 Best Rebounder At The 2 🤧 He Was Him 🐐
1 thing I’ll give bron is his mind is unbelievable to stay focus this long and to strive to be the greatest is special even if u don’t like the dude u gotta respect his thirsty for greatness
@@therealjulien1189 nothing lowkey about it .. those who watched it live as I did and Jae any basketball knowledge would recognize the best player on the court . But all casuals till this day say the my don’t beat Spain without Kobe just because he hit a run breaking 3 pointer with like 2 and half minutes left but Wade hit the real dagger 3 to cap off that game and the gold
So glad we get to hear from our favorite athletes growing up in this context. Hilarious stories, great moderating, and authentic camaraderie. Big fan, new sub, eagerly awaiting more Melo & Dwade content.
Tbh people can say what they want about D-Wade but one thing you can’t take away is his greatness and he truly understands the game frfr gotta give credit when it’s due🐐🏆🏆🏆💯
I live in Syracuse , Melo is a Gawd in the city. I was 4 when he won in 03 so didn’t know much but when I seen Dwade on NBA Live 06 i fell in love with basketball n Wade was my favorite until I came across Melo. 2 of my favorite players of All time
@@geno8246 what has he done as a person to not deserve respect? before you answer his son switching teams, that kid was like that before anybody knew who the kid was.
@@kaleb324some men question that man n that transitioning shyt isn't something we gon ignore as if it doesn't fall on the father cuz it does. I'm wit bro player yes person na

Proposition 48, often referred to as Prop 48, was an NCAA regulation introduced in 1983 to establish academic standards for student-athletes entering college. Here are the main requirements of Prop 48: High School GPA: Student-athletes needed to have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in core courses. Standardized Test Scores: They were required to achieve a minimum score of 700 on the SAT or 15 on the ACT. If student-athletes did not meet these standards, they were still allowed to attend the college and receive financial aid, but they could not participate in sports or practice with their team during their freshman year. This regulation aimed to ensure that student-athletes were academically prepared for college-level coursework and to emphasize the importance of education alongside athletics.
Yeah, like I kinda get where Melo was coming from, but I didn't think it fit. Somebody like Ant would have been a more apt comparison because the Timberwolves arrived a little ahead of schedule this year. If they would have somehow pulled off winning a championship, that would have been the type of disruption in the league that Wade was referring to
I am a lifelong Celtics whose 3 fav guards and in my top 12 of fav players of all time are Magic, Isiah, and DWade. I have always loved how they find the balance between ruthless competition and giving love to those that deserve it. They are secure in who they are, not just their games but as human beings. They don't need to take potshots, they're just as honest as can be with no apologies to anyone and we need more of that. They left the game in a better place
Its crazy cuz dwade came of the bench and averaged the most points in that 08 Olympic. Will always be the 3rd best SG after MJ and Kobe. Nobody was touching him in his prime. Still think that 08 MVP should have been his.
so thankful D-Wade made it to Melo's pod, so great that he got a voice for the culture, and able to gain his perspective from his respected rankings within the many conversations of GOAT debates.
It’s rare to build relationships like wade and melo when you become professional and i’m not just talking about professional basketball. My closest friends are still those i grew up with so shoutout to banana boat brothers.
This shit was legendary. Thank you. 🔥 Edit: Yooo. I appreciate the love. Melo is my favorite player and I’m glad Wade spoke about his character cuz he really is the coolest mfer doing it. I’m from WAD3 County so you already know. I’m Dominican and Mero is a GOAT. This shit checked all the boxes! Keep feeding these podcast streets my Gs.
Story telling on point lol D said Magic was the first person to greet him and said "DWade" with the movement 😂 I'm crying I legit saw him do that shit in my head ifykyk 😭
What I love about this talk show is watching and listening to Melo and his vast knowledge of the game and the business of the game based on experience and keen insight. I hear talk show hosts knock him all the time so it's good to hear when someone speaks for themselves and not just shut up and dribble. Which is what they want you to do for their entertainment.
@@RELLertainment he is top 15. We should assess a player's impact on both ends of the floor. And you can only name a few players from the top 75 team who are elite both offensively and defensively. Wade, MJ, Tim, Kobe, Kawhi, Kareem, David Robinson, Giannis, Shaq, Garnet, Anthony Davis. And among these players, you could even say some of them like giannis, Tim or Shaq do not have half the offensive bag that dwade had.
Maaaan I was stationed in Germany in 04 when yall came through. Can't remember who yall played but damn it broke my heart! Never thought I'd see the US lose.
If Wade don’t get hurt. Lebron may not even had 2 rings let alone 4. And we would have looked forward to Wade and Kobe for the Finals instead of Lebron and Kobe… Crazy how one injury can change a career.
I have to say, I always just watch the snippets of the shows they do, but Melo and Mero got a dope ass show. I love seeing these brothers doing their thing, and having fun doing it. Keep winning💯🤣
My favorite moments from melo and wade... their individual run in the 03 NCAA tournament... Melo was a freshman superstar and til this day the best freshman ever... Wade's run to the final four was amazing... that triple double verses Kentucky put him in the map
My favorite player of all time D wade in my eyes the greatest SG ever but realistically he’s 3rd this is my favorite interview so far #wadecounty #heatnation 🔥🔥
That whole story about the shoot around had me rolling. Heat players in uniform, shirts tucked in, Nugget players in durags, gold chains, taking half court shots for money 😂
yoooo Im Glad yall Got D WADE up here ! WE Needed to See Him ,! Keep Living King Wade ! The Original Sauce Cook Book For the 2 Guard Position ! Spot light Living at its Finest ! Thankyou for Being Smarter & Stronger Than Must See TV
Real recognize real and real ones been known Melo was that one. I'm so happy he getting the love he deserve and all that hate was made up media bullshit. I love seeing the intelligence and business savvy on display champ. 💪
That's hard Melo definitely been digging I like how yall have different guests from everyone else. I watch a lot of pod and be like why this one person on 5 different pods I watch this week
