Brilliant! The saying "Necessity is the mother of invention" is so true. My ham friend (302 yards away as the crow flies) will really be happy to see how easy it is to bury the radials. Envious of ehere you live. Would be fabulous to be able to sit a spell by that water. Regards Steve. De M1CIZ
0:09 FYI. Selfie mode uses a mirror image for the display (as it's easier to control, just like a small mirror), but the final image or video needn't be mirror image. Check your camera's settings, as it should have some setting in the menu to result in the final image or video being *not* mirror image. In other words, selfies need not be mirror image when published. Cheers.
Thanks Jim. I saw someone burying petsafe wire that way and decided to try doing it for radials. Went about 2" deep, and did coax the same way with a larger tube.
@@kk4palhamradiounleashed SOn, I need to see some SWR readings for that setup. It is a really neat install, and now I am almost motivated to get my fat butt out in the yard and do my radials that way.
@FEPLabsRadio When I get home, I'll do a video showing the SWR on all the bands. For radials in sand and only 180 degrees around, I was happy with it. Tried for middle of each band and got close.
I'd do mine that way but for two reasons; don't have to hide them from the lawn guy or others and the soil I have is so gravely that this method would not work. But, still this the best radial hack on the internet. 👍
You should consider getting some aluminum flashing, put in along the seawall , dock etc. partly in the water? that should exceed your need. A friend N4DXC SK told me his butternut worked well in the salt water from his dock?
