We reveal ourselves by our comments! It's almost always women criticizing other women and yet we wonder why the world seems so hard on us! We could be more allowing, understanding and reasonable since there is such much pressure upon all of us especially celebrities to never age or to change! She looks wonderful to me, sounds good and in touch with herself! Let the woman live! When will we let people be themselves? 🌟🌟🌟

This interviewer has done what so many obscure and unknown interviewers do...they talk too much, trying to make the interview about themselves in order to become famous. Regardless of her current exterior look and style, Dyan has always been a genuinely beautiful woman inside. So much of her attractiveness and her sex appeal has come from her personality, her energy and warmth. Her book about her life with Cary Grant is an interesting expose about Carey, but I still love her acting, and her characterizations. She can play serious parts, dramatic parts and very funny parts. Her role as Alice in Bob, Carol, Ted and Alice was beyond any Academy Award. It was one of the most realistic and convincing....and compelling roles ever acted on film. She is a great actress. We will always love her for her talent, her depth and her sincerity in all of her work.

This poor lady had to write a book about 'Dear Cary' because there are some outrageous documentaries out there. Those have taken truths and turned them into some crazy twisted make-believe insinuations. I'm glad to have seen THIS documentary and all it's honest, open truthfulness.

I have her book. I just read it. It was vey interesting. She had a little dog that she had for years & that she adored called, "Bangs" & the dog had been with her to Italy before she met him, she had “Bangs” for years. It was a small purebred dog. He acted like he cared for the dog, but when she got pregnant, right before going to the hospital she insisted going to the little dog to tell her that she was going to bring the baby home, & it was such a sweet moment her telling her little dog it was going to be ok. She comes home looking for her sweet precious dog & Cary coldly announces he gave her away to another family after the dog had been with her for years since it was a little puppy & she was a teenager. It killed me to read her devastation, & not even her mom or dad insisted that he get the dog back & he cruelly would never reveal where the poor dog was. She told him that the breed attaches itself to its owner & usually dies when separated, & the poor little dog would be so confused & miss her. It was a cruel selfish act to do to her & the dog right after she had been so excited & kissed the little dog when she is going into labor. I think he was jealous she loves the little dog so much. He had a dog too but did not care about it, like she did hers & kept it outside & also gave it away, because it meant nothing to him like her precious Bangs did. The dog was so cute & tiny. He insists that her dog won't be good for the baby according to some alleged medical crap he read(I think he made it all up). I was surprised her dad & mom & even friends did not threaten him for doing such a cruel thing on a day that should have been happy. She does not fight him. I would have gone nuts on him until he gave me the address of where the dog was. He started controlling her, forcing her to take LSD which caused her breakdown which is what the dr. said since everyone is different in their reaction to it. She was so sweet to his mom, inviting her to live with them after the poor woman held her granddaughter, she said don't bring her back because I love her & will miss her too much & it will break my heart. Dyan talks about how his mother at 89 lit up & she begs her to come live with them which I thought was another sweet thing to do. He got upset with her. His mother was in England & maybe if he had spent a few years seeing her with his new baby, her last years, it would have not just given him peace but his mother peace & love she needed, & healed the years she had to spend in a terrible state asylum before he found her & got her out. It made me cry when Diane was trying to do this & he did not bring his mother home with them. The pressure he put on her to look perfect, to use LSD was awful & he realized too late that he pushed her away with his obsessive control & criticism's. She was so young, maybe 20. He treated her well when they dated but had a fear of another marriage failing. He did love his daughter so I could not understand why he was so unreasonable with the woman that gave him his one & only child. And it was a gift he would have never had if he had not met her. She knew he needed a family, that he longed for it. For a young woman she was very very compassionate & kind, & loving to him.,He was going to quacks doing LSD(he went to Timothy Leary, who was a huge advocate of it in the 60's & maybe that is where he got his dr. from) which I think made him worse. He never got over being deceived that his mother had left, then told she was dead by his father. His dad did remarry & had another kid. He had guilt about her staying in the awful asylums that were run by government & had terrible reputations. His mother had been harmed by the treatment & appalling abuse. But he would get frustrated when he brought her furs & she did not respond like she would have if she had never been through forced institutionalizations & left there for years with no one to visit her or rescue her until he finally was old the truth. He got her out & into private care in England. Dyan said it was kind of like assisted living. He tried giving her things to make up for the terrible abuse & loneliness she suffered. When the baby came, her granddaughter she did respond beautifully & normally & I am sure holding the baby brought her back to when she was young & held her own baby, she loved the grandchild, & that provided such beautiful healing. It is so sad that he would not do what Diane had requested & that they all live together as a family with his mother. He had the money to hire private help for her & living with her new grandchild would have been a beautiful way for her to spend what time they had left with her. It was an interesting book. The woman tried everything to please him.

Just read your comment. I never read her book. Wow! Can't believe he gave her dog away. Being a big animal lover, that is about as cruel as it gets. As gorgeous and talented as Cary was, he, like so many, was damaged goods. I just didn't know he had a cruel side. So sad for Dyan and her dog. I do know that he refused to let his daughter have an in the house pet but let her have a horse instead. Even if you court someone for years before marrying, do you ever really know someone?

@@bethelle9099 He was pretty horrible. It was such a cruel thing to do. He was damaged and didn’t know how to love anyone. They did say he had affair and lived with Randolph Scott, and he looked pretty happy, they both did, so I don’t know if he was gay or maybe bi, it was quite scandalous what they did back then by living together. I guess he was bi since he married Diane. If not then he should have stayed with guys. Probably was all messed up and feeling some sort of guilt if he was. Maybe that’s why he did the LSD. And was so cruel. But like I said maybe he was bi sexual.

@@foxibot , I do think a lot of people, especially when young, have experimented with many things, including intimate encounters. They say Cary and Randy had wild parties with women. ....?..... Carys daughter insists he wasn't gay. A lot of Hollywood has had lavender marriages. I know supposedly Cary was head over heels for Sophia Loren and you can even see his intensity towards her in a movie they made together. Interesting that he married two much younger women the last two times. I think he wanted someone that he could control and mold to his liking, apparently, not giving much weight to what was important to them. I have been a fan of his work for a long time but I can't forgive the disappearing dog saga. That is UNFORGIVABLE, in my book!!!!!! Such a shame he did that to Dyan. That's why it is important not to put any celebrity on a pedestal. Again, he was only human, and a damaged one at that. Maybe he regretted many things in his life, such as the dog saga. We all have regrets. Well, Dyan moved on with her life and hopefully she found happiness. It sounds like she has been blessed with her daughter and grand children. No one escapes from this world unscathed! The best to you!

Dyan looks marvelous! Of course, the lighting is great too. Sure there's obviously been lots of plastic surgery-- but it is good work. Her mouth is a bit too generous--but then it was always a bit wide. In fact, she looks better now than she did 30 years ago--her plastic surgery then made her eyes look very tiny--so she's got that repaired nicely. And, she's kept thin without looking flat and stringy. If her hair was thin it would not look good this long--but it is full and healthy looking. Dyan Cannon seems to be in a very good place now, so why throw shade just because she maintains herself a bit extravagantly--it's her choice.

I’ve always loved Diane Cannon too. I just get tired of talk hosts who get off of the subject line and discuss themselves, or discuss other things that have nothing to do with the topic! I wanted to hear more about Carrie Grant instead of this guy and his wife and what a great relationship they have, etc. He needs to let Diane talk and be quiet.

...so does this mean that there’s no hope or use of having a relationship with a man that has had a dysfunctional relationship with his mother? ... ok let me see the stats on that. It sounds like the dysfunctional weights fell to the bottom on the side of his father- lying to him that his mother left and then after 3 long months telling him that she’s DEAD and soon replacing his mother with another younger woman. That was the real devastating shocker on this little boy! Not his mother. He missed his mother. He was betrayed sorely by his own father.
@benleung6331

I know this comment is two year old so you might know more by now but Cary Grant didn't exactly have a loving relationship with his mom even before she was institutionalized. His mother has lost another son before Archie (Cary Grant) was born and she blamed herself for that, resulted in chronic depression and over-controlling Archie. So chances are he would still have a very difficult relationship with his mom if she had been present in his life all along.

People who believe they have something that the public will love to see, and who ultimately “make it” and become incredibly successful are typically narcissists! And when a beautiful female movie star has a core belief that her looks are responsible for her fame, and not her talent (which may be limited), then she is going to fight to keep her young looks via plastic surgery. When actresses have an over abundance of talent and “unusual” looks, such as Kathryn Hepburn and Meryl Streep, they may be sensitive about growing old, but they shrug it off and keep working.

Harsh comment! It's a Hollywood look. Looks aren't important, but who wants wrinkles and saggy skin? Especially in LaLa Land, where aging is tantamount to murder?

What an incredibly bad interview -- a missed opportunity to razor down to the real Cary Grant, instead dancing around metaphysics

Carey Grant was quite damaged ,he was just a movie image ,people like to idolize his image,they don’t know him ,it doesn’t seem to me that Dyan really loved him ,she must have loved his image

What the hell did she do to her face? Just like Marie Osmond, she can't move her mouth properly. Omg.... Dyan, why........?!!!!! She still has a great laugh, though.

he was gay!!! seems he always needed a cove girl-and they suited both their needs-seems like a business agreement--plus she got a lot out of it-she would diss him miserably as well.

She looked great in Honeysuckle Rose with Willie Nelson, but she's way past the age of that long spiral hair. She can't hide the age on her face & neck.
