How well did the hair hold up hair coloring it?

The color held up fine, but after the second wash it wasn't as bright. The red color was completely gone by mid June.

I tried to dye this hair but It didn't take any color. I followed all the steps. Can you help me out? Thr hair is black now still after i dyed it and left in the dye fot 30 minutes
