Make the rewards in the game blueprints. The red sword is cool. Make it cost ten tokens BUT make it blueprint u can stick on slash weapons carrying over their stats. Craft masters need more to do. Get rid of weapon mod blueprint levels. But make it so that implementing them on weapons come with 5 levels and each additional upgrade repairs the weapon and increases the damage. Not just the level of the mod. Everything in the game should be craftable and transmog-able
My biggest issue with this game was that the choices mattered for the story but not the gameplay. What I mean is that choosing either the survivors or the pk doesn't change the way they act towards you. I think that they should react positively or negatively depending on who you chose to side with.
Yeah, you're still "alone" besides main story characters. Not really joined, but SPOILER i did find taking CNV tower nice, because i felt like one of them. Then everything went to shit, so i gave control to Frank. Helped Juan anyways- betrayed Matt, but i didn't know i'll straight up "betray" him, so option was Frank- Juan. So yeah.
Yea, i randomly decided to killed pk or survivors and i expected to get punished for doing that but NOPE Instead survivors or pk just fight me....and that it.
I know within E3 looking at the game footage, infected types will spawn in your world depending on major choices which was ultimately scrapped and just… oof
I would love to see ragdoll improvements, returning 2019 and 2021 animations (such as the grappling hook pull and finisher moves), the ability to throw weapons when they break.
25:00 Blueprints is my NUMBER ONE request to be back in this game. It made you able to craft these unique weapons, pretty much whenever you wanted, as long as you had the materials. That's the thing I didn't like in DL2, weapons felt so disposable. I never wanted to use the "unique" ones because I know they would break, and I am a hoarder. If we got blueprints for these things, it would be amazing. Plus the whole stash redeeming system is weird, it also just doesn't include every event item or dlc item, so I never know which one not to use...
Honestly I might be the only one in favor of this but I would genuinely want dl2 to get a full on directors cut and to redo content and story with additional modes and returned cut content
I honestly thought about this for a long time but - how cool would it be if you could just claim the bounties or obtain new ones simply by doing so somewhere in the menu and as you proceed with whatever action you chose, you get a little dialogue from Aiden telling Harper that he is claiming a new bounty, over the radio. I am very happy that you brought it up !! Maybe it will also be implemented into the game. I'd be so happy and it would be my cherry on top - personally.
The things that I felt missing in Dying Light 2 was the urgency, the constant danger of getting blown up by the Ministry and most importantly the grit and grim Rais brought. DL1 Dlc the following was like an even better experience which offered a hope to find a "cure". DL2 on the other hand was 'alright' at best. I have low expectations for Bloody Ties. IF it does not have a valid reason to justify fighting in the arena other than 'Glory' or 'Pride' it would suck imo.
I 100% agree. DL1 was like being on the verge of panic trying to figure out what's going on. DL2 is so easy and laid back there's no real sense of danger anymore
@@Whynaughteh same. The initial play through was ok because it was new. After a week you realize the map is 90% copy/paste and these “updates” are just reskinned bounties to get people to grind. 4 play throughs and I’ve still never seen the final cutscene due to crashing.
Solid video Oni. Very good points brought up and what a tactful and well thought out way of putting these concerns; and the praise is certainly welcome as well! ^_^ I think we're getting there. One update at a time. I'm doing my part 07.
You tell the Developers most people won't put time back into this game until it's in a good spot to where they think it's worth putting time back into the game
If tech land wanted to redo the entire thing and make it like the E3 I would fully support that! (Also the glowing stuff on zombies make's it not scary. The orange stuff on the howler could be like a dark red for blood or something... Especially the volatile I prefer the fleshy skin look than.... Stone man or whatever!)
@@gamermike24 yeah I know but it doesn't look good. When I killed one i got a closer look... It looks like a alien human hybrid now (would've wanted like idk the blood around them hardened around them or something?)
Something I wanted to add. is some old bugs have resurfaced in 1.6 and its pretty bad specifically the perma fog bug in post game where you get the fog weather 24/7 is back and the day at night bug has returned as well. where when it turns night time its still day and it stays a weird day/night limbo for a few ingame hours before snapping to night time but then all the lighting is jank and buggy and broken looking. oh and also since 1.6 i have had more crashes ever since launch so idk whats up about that. they also brought back the chest spike animation glitch thing that was there at launch and got patched in 1.2 now when falling half the time you have a massive chest spike and aiden planks mid-air instead of doing his normal leg hop animation which felt and looked good. and many more. it kinda feels like they reverted to an older version of the game with how many bugs has returned.
Bro I just want Good ragdoll, less animations, A Horror to the nighttime, And actually good weapons and modifiers like the first game, Dude I just want to be terrified and badass.
It would be cool if we can get piercing weapons. We have slashing and blunt, but piercing would be cool. Spears that aren't just throwable pickups, but Spears we can keep and upgrade, throw and pick back up, or never throw it and thrust. A chainsaw weapon would also be pretty cool lol. Daggers and knives, more brass knuckle weapons. The knuckles are my favorite weapons but are always too weak to use effectively. There should be thunder and lightning storms that bring new enemy types.
Honestly, I would like to see Expeditions included into this game like having a quest line where you have to go to Harran or maybe even the Countryside or different locations.
Simple solution, gaming companies need to partner with Nexus Mods. Nexus mods can assist with allowing integration into consoles. The game developing company will be responsible for endorsing a mod. Once a mod is endorsed, these mods can be added to consoles via a in-game menu as it would be deployed as "downloadable" content.
Great video Oni! I think you were spot on with what made DL1 so special. It wasn’t afraid to put you into a completely terrifying landscape where nearly everyone was dying. Virals would come out of nowhere with their horrifying growl. When you play, you’re on edge. DL2 just doesn’t create the same feeling. You go from fighting sparsely littered zombies to cheesy survivor music in their compounds. There’s just no sense of excitement when playing DL2.
I LOVED but hated the scream the virals did when you shot a gun, blew something up or did anything rlly. Never knew where they coming from or timing- I was so happy got the grappling hook for this reason lol
Since it is so rare to have games allow mod support on console, a change like this would hugely benefit dl2 and would truly allow players to experience the game in the ways they wish
They need to introduce custom difficulty. I want the combat to be quick and deadly. Dying light 2 has the lazy type of difficulty, in which enemies take longer to kill. That's not difficult, that's just plain obnoxius and boring. Ghost of Tsushima had an amazing difficulty : lethal. You die to one hit, enemies die to one hit (at the start of the game). That is a hard difficulty, which requiers you to master the game. If combat with humans takes literal minutes, it gets old really fast.
22:30 I would really love to see a feature to reset outposts and next time you try to conquer it, it's much harder. I think in Far Cry New Dawn there's something like that and I find it interesting
@@OniZombies not quite a reset but what about random incursion*bzzzt, Aiden, Meyer/Frank/Matt/Juan here, renegades have taken over a block in old villedor, were sending troops but you need to get over there now!*
@@tomc180. Not quite true; Far Cry 5 doesn't have that: In that game, once you capture the Cult Outpost, it's yours for the rest of the game. In New Dawn, you have the option of resetting Outposts for a bigger payout; However, in return for that bigger payout, the enemy presence will essentially get a buff: More alarms to disable or destroy, more powerful guards at key entrance areas, more guards overall, stuff like that.
i want more old animations, realistic coloured monkey bars and ropes and the e3 biomarker and e3 fish eye canteen and faction chapters instead of just one person and you get quests and more populated save zones or even faction reputation.
When a game talks about having a five year post launch content plan - I only feel “alright cool, I’ll play the game again in 5 years”. It’s cool getting more content, but you can only replay a game so many times before it gets boring. If not, I’d be playing this DLC happily right now.
I 100% agree with BGA. I loved the discovery of the blueprints. Further yet, the traveling merchants - I didn't realize I was missing that! I'd love to see that added back in - it would add a more organic feel to the world. In a way, it would make more sense for traveling merchants to exist now than in the first game.
You know what sucks too, having to run 960,000m for an achievement, from the pk boat to the sunken city is around 1600m and you have to do that 600 times which takes around 50+ hours of straight running
I'd love the option to reset faction facilities. Especially since I'm currently having a glitch where giving the water tower in the muddy grounds area to the pk for some reason doesn't activate the safe house. Like I'll give the pk the water tower and yet even after the coll cutscene the water tower stays the same and I can't use it as a safe zone even though that territory will be transformed into the pk area
I was expecting questlines like how you've mentioned. During the first release of Chapter 1, I was confused about why Aiden doesn't speak and always quiet. Thought maybe they were planning to do that once you do one of the two quests but it was just like a side mission you do but alone, whatever you do won't matter and affect the story of themselves or yours. If they do some sort of grouping of the quest-givers and adding them a personality, doing some missions together, going to hard missions that is set to do only if you have good relationship with both for example should be much better. Decreasing the points you acquire is the worst thing they've done due of grinding more. I am a student who's busy with school and want to spend my leisure time by playing the game and enjoying but thanks to new update, I need to patiently grind for new stuff. I hope they will actually add some quests where Aiden learns to talk and make more bounty variants that will be fun and interesting instead of same thing that repeats. Kind of sad to see DLC being delayed but better than getting an early release with unfinished content. Might keep my hopes bit of low but never zero.
Idk what it is that keeps happening to these Polish developers (Techland and CD Projekt) where their games keep getting delayed and then coming out buggy despite the delays from Dead Island through to Dying Light, the Witcher and Cyberpunk but I have to hand it to them: they keep at it and they listen to their customers; at least to an extent that puts them in a much better light than other developers. I have faith DL2 will deliver that DL1 feel for us in the end. Mostly because DL1 had the same grumblings early in its history and Techland kept at it. I've recently been back in Cyberpunk and they definitely have some work still to be done for that game but what it is now, compared to release, is staggering (in a positive way). It goes to show that customers need to not buy the hype so much, maybe hold back on the pre-purchases, the developers need to quit overpromising and announce when they are ready to deliver, and keep on listening to the fans if the expectations fall short. The fans will return if they feel respected.
I don't want a vibrant, acrady game to by dying light 2. The only reason why I ever got really excited for Dying Light 2 was because of the 2018 and 2019 demos, I wish this can at least somewhat return.
Great review and overall summary Oni! Loved how you had other creators chime in with their opinions too, great idea! Respect and appreciate your honesty 👊
Congrats on the 50k milestone Oni! I've only found you a month after DL2 came out, and just wanna say keep making videos man👍 everyone here enjoys your content. And keep being the chilled dude you are lol🤣💪
I enjoyed the story didn’t have to too much gripes with it and haven’t dealt with to many bugs but id say there were a bit of things i didnt like which was how my decisions felt almost weightless in the gameplay i wish wed get some fun dlc i wish games and companies would put more story in dlc and i think thats something we need more of
I like to believe that you set up a green screen in your fridge for the sponsor 23:18 bruh… lol Oof that Aussie voice crack For 100K you should do your commentary while walking down a sidewalk. With the camera as well of course.
My problem is that I still struggle with awful bugs. I still see character models not loaded in, looking like clay. Human enemies still just stay still as their heads just spin. Audio still stays silent especially conversations still.
Very Simple.. the devs need to go back an play DL1 ... and dont change anything... simple... just add on.. dont take away anything!... example with 3d skeleton breaking.. why remove it!.. finishers etc... im so confused to why they removed things they gotta now put so much work into putting back
Great video Mario! I agree with everything that was stated in the current state. I myself, who never had the game breaking bugs that many encountered for months after release, found myself perplexed when the recent Chapter 2 and subsequent update gave me almost ALL the bugs players had been experiencing, all at once. I wanted to enjoy Chapter 2 but a major bug in the Huntress missions, makes them unplayable for me. The tracks do not register when searching them and therefore I cannot progress with the reg or elite missions. But I do agree the new bounties are very creative, but that is short lived when you do the one with killing a Hag in the air, which is vague to begin with, but trying all ways to kill her(Aiden in the air doing a Parkour Shot or Aiden standing on the ground and shooting her with an arrow as she is in mid-air, is not working 100%. I’d say it takes four to five actual kills before they count! Plus it seems to be a bounty that ghosts and doesn’t allow you to pick up the three total 🤷🏻♀️ I hope subsequent updates fix them, but fear, as many hear stated, that they will fix things only to have other things break 😢
But you stun enemies very easy and the takedown on the game don't consume stamina, that would be very unbalanced, but there are a mod to allow do takedown only when the enemy is under 25% of live, that would be good if techland would add it like this.
@@saulgoitiamendez9008 Or they could just re-balance the stun mechanic so that easy more fodder enemies soon easier then the stronger ones. Or I guess they could go with your idea. I'm asking more that they bring the feature back not that they copy and paste it exactly
I actually miss what BGA said. When they added unique blueprints for weapons that were found around the map and during events, and to make them you needed a base weapon that would get fully converted
Its funny, I don't remember anyone asking Techland to make the seasons a grind, cutting the points down to 200 for completing each challenge totally turned me off to the point where I just got a mod from Nexus to put it back to how it was with season one, if there was no mod I would have just not bothered or cheated to get all the rewards at once. WTF were Techland thinking, who figured cutting points and making it a grind would be a good idea, its a grind because of that, how did you miss that!! Releasing the DLC at the same time as God of War is no big deal, people can play more than one game at once or like me don't give a toss about God of War so who cares.
it honestly does feel like techland is always trying to catch up with their audience and even if they try their best on making a patch or content update, they always end up falling short or messing up another aspect of the game
about delays, what everyone (and most importantly TECHLAND) should remember is that BAD experiences repulse gamers from playing the game while GOOD experience makes HISTORY. So, Techland, do you wanna leave a milestone in GAMING history with DL 2 or get it forgotten in a few years ? So, take your time to perfect everything, don't mind the delays, as long as it eventually comes out. And i am 100% aggree with all that is said here, i really do hope that TECHLAND will hear us out.
I’ve been following dl2 since day one and there is only one thing that techland had not gone back on at all. Making the game grindy af. The blueprints have been hated since launch and have never fucking changed, but every single glitch that skips the grind has been patched out, the sunken city weapons? The korek charm (changes yet again for the 4th fucking time), the military parts nerf? The recent chapter exp nerf? It’s absolutely focused on grinding no matter what. Even the chapters are just permanent battlepasses (techland themselves said so), having to do all these bounties is fucking painful, imagine how it’ll be when they’ve added even more chapters in the future. It’ll be fucking horrible to do hours of identical bounties every day. They are dead set on this system despite it clearly not bringing players back. Noone liked dl1 because it was a grindy mess. It had the main levels for perks, and the legend levels, which were progressed by doing anything. I have been very lucky with a lack of bugs in my playthrough, but if techland keep making the game grindy at the expense of fun, the game is going to keep dying. I haven’t properly played dl2 in ages now, and the chapters have not interested me in the slightest. Techland know what they’re doing by rebranding the battlepass system, they also never show the full patch notes to show all the stealth nerfs. Any other company would be getting shit for these practices. Companies change, techland has probably changed too, they’ve been riding off dl1’s goodwill but show no signs of changing. The ‘listening to players’ pr shit is only for aesthetic changes, nothing fundamental is going to change. People have asked for the grind to change for ages, techland don’t care about that.
DL2 base was developed around grinding and farming because Techland looked at Ubisoft and decided to implement the same formula. 1. You don't explore the world for blueprints. You buy them and than grind to update them which increases the playtime. 2. Chapter 2 creates the illusion of some story chapter but the main focus is grinding for gear. Thats how you increase playtime Until DLC2 you won't see any new real story content. DLC1 is going to be an arena with the illusion of some kind of mission to fight humans, gain points, buy new gear, fight stronger enemies to gain more points and buy new gear. It wil the same grind. With some cutscenes here and there. 3...and for DLC2 I don't realy expect much. I bet they are going to use areas which weren't part of the story (central loop) around the sinking city and add some story content but as before adding a lot of grind elements. DL1 was a masterpiece and Techland went full ubisoft with DL2. It feals like a copy & pasted playground focused on grinding and less exploration or a believble world.
Yeah currently I can’t even initiate a chase, nor can I respawn after dying. I literally have to close the game out every time I die. I get downed as if I’m in co op and can be revived but nope I’m all alone lol. I thought maybe it had something to do with survivors being able to revive you but they never come.
I agree with Best Gamer Ali, they aren't taking our suggestions seriously. At the end of the day they are gonna do what they do but as we see , downward trend
Yeah, I loved dying light 1, played it 100+ times, it was basically my youth. When they annouced dl2 I was exited, but this game is just bland, a flat max 6/10. It feels like they just removed everything that made dl1 fun, the fights/hits feel cartoony now not hard hitting. The game feels more like dead island instead of dl, the scare factor is gone, the night feel weak and the chase aspect just doesn't work, especially when you have safe zones before most chases can even get to lvl2. The hiding is cool but when it really doesn't matter if you get seen or not because you can fight your way out of a room it makes everything boring. Story is bad, choices don't do anything most of the time and when they do the text telling you what your choice is isn't specific enough, the glider feels like cheating and makes parkour feel useless, parkour feels fine but misses roughness from the first game, the game looks drawn and the inventory system feels bad. I played dl2 to 100% and I hate to say it but I don't think I enjoyed it most of the time, and I don't see myself playing it anytime soon. My friend who I played dl1 with straight up didn't want to buy the game because he saw gameplay. I think what this game needs is a complete rework of the main game, not more buggy content, and until they do that I highly doubt there will be any kind of big active dl2 community.
The issue with these chapters are that it has no story line arc where Aiden doesn’t even interact with the former nightrunners. Another issue is the infected. Now the copy-paste dilemma is pretty much bland but they did give them unique attacks but tied to activities. I expect unique infected types to appear like Nighthunters or something new. Chapters aren’t too bad for mid-game high level loot but it is still disappointing personally.

@@takeyourtime3328 exactly why I cant stand dl2, even finding the blueprints made you want to explore and I actually liked the old system of crafting and upgrading weapons way more even tho it was limited and yeah as soon as I started this game and finished the whole way through felt like the average copy paste ubi game, the uniqueness of the first that made it so poular felt like it doesn't exist at all in the second even the zombies felt downgraded
I got a game breaking flashlight glitch when I went into the photo mode with it on, so I had to uninstall and reinstall to fix it, and start over from zero, and again I love it! I skip all dialogue and just get to play
I know I'm jumping the gun 🔫. But in a future DLC probably like in "The Following " where you got a super cool zombie slaying buggy😎, in DL2 you get a bike (kinda like Days Gone) where you can stash spears and stuff to throw/shoot at enemies while driving! Also make "the new map" more open for possibilities like this. You can actually listen to some NPC's talking about a place called "New Paris" so hopefully something like that can come to fruition.
I love the Carriers Guild. There is more potential to get out of it. And the Book Club. Another night with Thalia? Or how about Thalia being kidnapped? 😁
My biggest issue is the save system on PS4. There is only one save file no matter how many games you have. So if you get a corrupt save after game crash you loose all your saves. Also if you try and transfer save file from one PS4 to another the save copies over the file on 2nd ps4. There needs to be a way to manually save or at least have each save file have its own unique name.
FINALLY with the 15gb update the game while still a bit glitchy is no longer completely broken on ps4. I can't believe it took Techland 8 MONTHS to fix all of these problems! Piss poor.
I’ve just jumped in after not playing for months and I’m loving it again the new chapter page is amazing still have so many side quests and love do hoppers run. Just trying to max out my character for bloody ties l
well i can tell you why we left was when they had us do all that work for the flying broom an other items then took it from us...?like what was the point made everyone go back to other games me as well. will we come back not sure so many games are being released so the chance of players coming back will be little to none.
Very Good vid. Honestly i enjoyed and did not enjoy the chapter 2 update , well its fun with the new animations with the E3 stuff and the rewards are quite good but the grind and the bugs made the update quite not fun . Especially the lack of events and whole wait for chapter 2 was not kinda worth it . I hope at least the arena dlc is going to be good and not buggy beacuse i don't want it to go "kaput" after the release .
Thank you for making this video. It makes me feel relieved that there are people out here in the community addressing these issues with the game and using constructive criticism to better it. +1 sub 👍
tbh I have no idea how they made a dying light 2 and didn't even consider BTZ. BTZ basically carried the first game for like 7 years and there's nothing remotely like it in this game.
As much as I love Dying Light (The original). I even played up to 10 times of the original including the following. I can't seem to like Dying Light 2. It felt too easy, nightime horror just isn't there and there are NO reason to avoid night time. Also I hated the fact craftmaster exists. It defeat the purpose of trying to find better blueprints or just roll with whatever we had. They also remove the skull cracking effect. Anyone who played Dying Light will remember the mission where you need to run into the tower after destroying the antizin. That was iconic and scared me shitless. There are less goofy sidequests, like the one where you help a guy put up the fire house just to have it explode. I don't see that charm in dying light 2. All I see is courier mission 1-10, books colletion 1-10, killing zombies 1-10. Not to mention all the speedruns you need to do. It felt grindy and boring. The chapters felt like the rehash of an online game weeklies. I felt dissapointed. I honestly think DL2 is done. Maybe next time for DL3
Also it be cool if they combined part 1 and 2 locations and seeing harran after a nuke and what it did mutation wise to the people and reminiscing Abt the 1st game while playing the 2nd for instance running thru the country side or in the buggy . In my opinion that would be dope and then finally letting us know wtf really happened with Crane! Maybe seeing him as a boss fight or anything just give us some dame closure or change it since crane was the fing man!
I'm saddened by DL2 but honestly it's deserved. Out of all the things ppl say is wrong (ragdolls, combat, co-op, choices, etc) - i think the most disappointing thing of all is letting down the expectations of the cult fanbase of DL1 - they were there to continue to explore a deep meaningful world w the apocalyptic and eerie feel from DL1, but in a new and fresh setting. but they changed the whole feel of the game, how stories and side stories and side characters were interacted with, and replaced it w very generic open world game features that feel like every other open world game out there. Old fans didn't come for that. So they left, and instead DL1 still has a strong player base, which indicated a failure to transition your own player base to your second game 30:15 states what im talking about
I've played Dead Island, Dead Island: Riptide, Dying Light, and just recently, Dying Light 2. If I've learned another from their past games, it's that they care about the game and that they prioritize fun and players over money. I'm confident that in ~2 years, the game will be in a much better state. It's sad to see it release in such a bad state, but these things happen sometimes, especially in the past few years, so I can let it slide. I hope that the Devs don't let me down on this.
The most bad thing about DL2 is...yezuz this game is SO EASY and not stresfull at all ! DL1 had a bigger difficulty and breathless moments...DL2 is like a vacation camp instead
Netro always has very intelligent things to say. I can tell he knows what he's talking about and he cares about the game. You should colab with him more often.
What they really need to do is make it easier to get faction tokens, grinding for cosmetics isn’t all that exciting for me and I have an OBSCENE amount of mutation samples to do anything with them
I just want to craft the Bolts and Arrows for the Huntress Crossbow and Bow... You are forced to at least go slightly over half with the Peacekeepers, or you will not have good ranged combat, simple as that. The yardstick on level 9 is okay, but nothing compared to the PK Crossbow. Now we got a Crossbow that can be accuired even if you go full survivor (AKA. Parkour focused) but we can't craft the bolts.. Please Techland
I am waiting for Techland to improve the gore. Dying Light 1's gore was much more impressive then the one in Dying Light 2. I also really did like them to add an optional option which allows players to get back the terrifying experience of Dying Light 1 during the night.
They NEED to make the game less grinding I'm sick of collecting 25 marking and the xp is 200 now!? 400 way fine and it made it work doing them I'm just waiting for them to fix and make the game worth going back to
The Agent system was a mistake in my opinion. We're striving for more content, and they give us a restrictive gameplay style that forces you to grind. I really don't like them, I much prefer just roaming free, which is why I crave for the Legend Level to come back. I don't want to grind what essentially is a sologame. Or at least mindless grinding.
I don't dislike the game but it felt like a step back on many fronts. There's less 'horror' in general, it seems. Some great moments with horror such as the VNC tower but the night phases aren't as imposing as in the first game and I've yet to feel that sense of subtle, building dread that was present in Harran's countryside that made it clear the story wasn't going to have a happy ending. A lot of the quarantine zone equivalents are also very samey in a way that didn't apply to the original game. Exploring the restaurant, supermarket, hotel and apartment buildings (especially the one with classical music playing in the background) felt great. Yet the hospital exploration just didn't excite me nearly as much in DL2. I do have a good feeling that the game will be in a great place in time, though.
Interesting video. I have not played dying light 2 since I completed the main story the first time. I think I will play it until the DLC comes out. Whenever that is jaja.
