I mean each to their own, but you can't convince me that he isn't a wannabe Vaas Montenegro ripoff from Wish. His only characteristic is he is "le bad dictator" and acts like a Saturday morning cartoon villain. You can ask AI to write a zombie game villain and Rais would be the result.

Oh you did it? LOL jk you're still not getting it. Now I'm going to kill you while you're out of harm's way. Oh but wait, now that I have you captured and dead to rights, I'm not going to kill you anymore. Oh wait you escaped? Right, GUARDS, KILL HIM! Oh look we got him back in our grasp. We've been trying to kill him the entire time, and now he's guaranteed to die because he's infected and surrounded. I have an idea, let's give him antizin and then instead of gunning him down, we'll send four guys with pipes down to do it! And then when I'm about to escape out of Harran to pull off my master plan, I'll let him know exactly where I am and what I'm doing so he can stop me! I'm such a good villain." As a writer, I'm not exaggerating when I say that Rais is the worst antagonist I've seen in any form of entertainment.

Rais was alright and Waltz was meh. Both games had loads of room for improvement when it came to the story. In DL2 some of the most prevalent story issues to me was the insanely fast pacing of the story and the survivors being shown as the "good guys" and the peacekeepers being "bad guys" near the late game. I was really hoping both groups would be more gray. Also, I'm sick of games giving the illusion of choice.

Definitely don't agree with that statement. A game being launched too early and being a cash crab are 2 different things. If it was, they would have dropped support in a year and dipped, but they've constantly been doing updates. The launch was due to a lot of problems like covid, internal problems and the changing of the writer just to name a few.

1. Guess that's subjective but the writing was as cliche as it gets, in my opinion. Literally saw through every story beat when first playing the game. 2. Rais to me was like a "Saturday morning cartoon" level of "le-evil" villain, but I can see how some people might like him. Probably better than Waltz still. 3. Did that in DL1 too but in DL2 fighting those guys with melee is a pain in the ass and they nerfed ranged weapons on special infected But everyone got their takes and everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they stay civil!

@@DiabolicalMeek that's more logical than not cuz Crane is like 30+ from the looks of his and Aiden is way younger, he only passed the teenage step a couple years ago, so he has a lot more emotions in him, and Kyle has already seen some bullshit. I mean he is literally an undercover gre agent, he has to be calm all the time
