During the season it was common consensus he's 1C, now I'm seeing more and more talk of him not being 1C. Seems like alot of fans seem to forget or just don't understand what Dylan is doing is consistent with the top 200 foot centers in the league. The "casuals" seem to think you need to score at or above a ppg pace to be considered a 1C. Whatever it honestly doesn't matter because the folks who actually pay attention realize what he's doing is great for us. I mean shit just watch this compilation of all the little things he does right courtesy of Alex 🍻
Personally, I don’t have a problem with him being out 1C but with today’s game. I could see him going to number 2 if we get a high scoring center. Again I love him and like him as the 1C but I could see him as a scoring shutdown 2C
I think it has to do with how spoiled we were for twenty-five years. We had Yzerman and Fedorov, two bonafide superstar centers who were on the top of 1C lists in the League for a long time. Then we had Pav and Hank, both of whom were also elite, superstar 1Cs with Pav considered the best player on the planet for a few years. Larkin is nowhere near any of those four when it comes to sheer ability on the ice. He's closest to Hank in ability, but from what I have seen, he will not replicate him. Larkin has game-changing speed, a great shot, excellent defensive knowledge and two-way ability, but his average vision and average hands seems to prevent him really taking that next step. I love Larkin, but ideally, you want him as your 2C. He can work as a 1C, yes, and do a good job, but when comparing him to the past 1Cs the Red Wings have had, he comes up short in all areas, and I think that's why there's so much dissatisfaction from fans about Larkin being the 1C
@@klompsauce 37:23 Was my first game at the LCA, and that one was the best comeback I've seen live! Watching Larkins highlights really shoe how much of a play-maker he really is. LGRW🏒🤘🐙
The play I was looking for and didn't see was at the end of the game against the canes he made a beauty play to keep the puck in the O zone to keep Ned's shutout intact. 1st in heart too.
I hope his head stays the same as Yzerman's at this age. Looks amazing in 3 years tops. I see us making the play-offs but not winning against seasoned Franchises. # years we will dominate...lol
Great to see the growth Larkin has made not just as a player but as the captain of this team. Very excited to see what happens next year if he stays healthy all year
