I knew she had an abusive relationship with a costar she had worked in a movie with. And I knew she had to get a restraining order on him. It’s sad that I’ve only just realised it’s him. It’s also sad that he did what he did to her, nobody deserves to be treated like that
I never realized how emotional and relateable this movie is pretending to be someone your not just to fit in I've been there I'm glad that in the end she learned to be herself and surround herself with people who love her 😄👏👏👏
This movie is so underrated, it needs to be remembered. It's so great. Just that moral right there is the best idea for a movie. I gotta watch the movie more, it's been a while.
You know what I never understood about Disney channel was that before they allowed couples to kiss (in movies and TV shows) and now you barely see characters kiss in TV shows, and sometimes in movies.

this film legitimately was the only disney channel movie i had respect for and have only just learnt that he abused her and this has actually crushed my childhood a bit

I know that this was before "Modern Family". He was in the episode when the whole family went to Disneyland. After that they must of broke up. I like her new boyfriend. He's Wells Adams and I liked him when he was on the Bactcheloreet.
This makes me cry. I'm in Dylan's position but I know I will find my way back. Ever since I saw it was a child I loved this film no matter how cheesy Disney was, this film was really pure and wholesome.

Go see a counselor, put a restraining order on him, make it crystal clear; whatever you have to do just get rid of him, forgive him, and move on with your life. i miss this movie, in 1st grade me and my friend loved it so much that it was basically all we watched together and re-enacted certain parts during recess everyday lmao
I absolutely love Josh as a character but not the actor, of course. I do really like this ship a lot but even so I knew what happened to the actors. I would rather separate between the characters and the actors so it won’t be ruined for me anymore. Surprisingly it does work.
I REALLY loved this movie, and rewatched it a couple of years earlier. I kinda just googled the actors to see their other works (aside from Modern Family) and you can guess the type of articles I found. I can no longer see the movie in the same way. every scene they’re together, I keep dissecting and analysing how terrified she must have been of him as soon as the cameras were off. I’m so glad she’s in a better place now and away from him!
This was one of my most favorite disney movies and I just had the urge to rewatch the movie the other day and then I found out something disturbing while reading the comments. Childhood ruined, but atleast I know what a terrible person the actor is in real life💔

Amy was a way better friend to Dylan than Hannah and Lola ever were. I mean I’m sure they cared about Dylan but they disliked that Dylan had transformed into a geek. Hannah and Lola stopped hanging out with her and Dylan had to just stop talking to them because she felt unwanted. And as soon as Dylan got popular again and more than ever, they immediately approached her at the Spring Formal and Hannah said to Dylan, “There you are. You don't have to hang with the riff-raff anymore.” I’m surprised that Hannah and Lola didn’t become friends with Nicole. It seemed like they would, given that Hannah and Lola stopped hanging out with Dylan, but either ways it is implied that Dylan stopped being friends with Hannah and Lola and it’s good because Dylan deserved better.
Okay I hate how abusive Matt was to Sarah Hyland in real life. But this was once a great movie and it always will be a great movie. Not just because of the relationship between the two, but also because it defines every students’ personalities between geekiness and popularity.

Josh and Dylan were great together. Sure, they were off to a wrong start when Josh accidentally spills tuna casserole on Dylan, and they argue about Dylan’s personality, but then it gets better not just for them but for all of us.
