A playthrough of Sega's 1990 shooter for the Sega Genesis, Dynamite Duke.
Played through on normal mode.
This is quite an interesting shooter. Like many of the really early Genesis arcade ports, it's extremely short and extremely hard, but this is a really good port of the 1989 Seibu Kaihatsu arcade game (the same guys that did Raiden!).
It's quite similar to Cabal and The Punisher on the NES, or any other game where your character is in the foreground and sprays bullets into the depth of the game field. I also really like that you can see through Duke, since bullets could easily get missed while behind him, but he looks a bit ridiculous. Did he replace the center of his torso with an inflatable pool toy?
And the game's box art. Oh my. I'm not sure what they were going for, but I love it all the more sitting on my shelf!
