Day is finally here when I get to bring my daily to see where we are sitting. More excited for the experience than actually seeing huge numbers under the hood. Should be a great day either way.
That's pretty cool may not be a fast car, but it's all about learning and giving in to the tuner culture. I had a sohc 3000gt 160 crank hp as my first tuner car. Learned how to turn wrenches and later got a Mazdaspeed 3 that I modded. Doesnt have to be 3-400 hp tull have a good time
lmao i own an auto cruze and im never gomna mod it, but its fun too see that there is a very small community dedicated too modding this car. My dad built these in Lordstown, and hes actually really happy too see people liked the cars he made, and are having fun with them. Thanks for the fun video
I just bought a 1.4t,im fairly certain the 1.8 and 1.4 are both adviertized at 138 hp stock. with the 1.4 putting up 148 ftlbs of torque to the 125 of the 1.8
these are actually fun. My auto cruze with no mods is suprisingly well handing and i do enjoy the car, and it can zip a little if i push it hard enough. granted its no Evo or civic but i still love it
I have a 251whp 1.4t that says otherwise. My Cruze can eat Camaros off the line (up to a stock SS, under 70 MPH, not a ZL1/Z28) now. Cost me $6800 in parts (on a Gen 1), 2 weeks to do a full rebuild, and every cussword in the book... but it was worth it! I'm now at 156k miles and my only concern is how long my AT will hold up. 🤣
@@antonym24 TRUE! But the car can easily be built faster than a Civic, and w/ only a street tune and CAI can outrun a stock Si w/ no problem being that it's a Boosted vs NA situation. (Since Honda doesn't like to boost anything that costs less than $50k. Lol.) Now an Evo 6 - X... that's a whole other monster, and there you'd be correct. (*Hears MC Hammer in the background*...)
What the hell did chev do to the ecotec? My bone stock 2006 cobalt ss/sc dynoed 212 hp and 210 tq bone stock. And 256 with header back exhaust, and a stage 2 pulley with tune and injectors. I fogure these new cars would put up soo much more
Johnny Sosa yeah... you know we are started somewhere. I look back at these videos and laugh at myself but it is what it is. I had a lot of fun tinkering on this car and learning about the culture
for sure man. just gotta keep working and building that power. Hopefully you can get at least up too 200-230bhp. still not too fast but it will defiantly be a big difference.@@austinbooth5475
My 2013 1.4t makes 200 with intake straight pipe resonator and muffler delete downpipe double iridium plugs on 91-93 not sure your miles the transmission will lose its emph after so long. The autos anyway
Blake Whiteman I don’t have any plans to add power to the Cruze. I have been working on my latest project, a 1985 foxbody. Pulled and am currently rebuilding the 302, just haven’t felt like posting about it
Sometimes its not the power that makes it fun, its about the driving experience, i test drove this car the other day and it can be a fun car to drive, one tune and it can go to 160hp
Its crazy isnt it? 🤣 You can get near 170 with a good tuner and 3-4 tweaks on 100% stock stuff. You can almost hit 190HP with only a CAI + the Tune. They're economy cars, but you can make them pretty zippy, and with the 1.4L they're quite torquey with the bigger turbos.
I hope I see you on the street. I would love to put my 2019 Chevy Cruze with a turbo against yours. I think it would be fun. Your car looks great. I love what you have done with it. Eventually I will get to my car looks ,but now I am working on my engine to make it a little faster.
The Big Single Cruze I think it was a one time thing, over the winter I was only driving 5-10 min to work and my car barely had time to hit operating temperature, I have been meaning to make a follow up video but I have everything resolved now. Thank you
The Black Lexus SC300 (next to the white car in the background) is the best car at that place. Little do you know sir, there was a 2JZ powered car sitting behind you. Put an exhaust on that beauty, and really have an eargasm. I wanted to buy that SC300 to replace my GS300.
Do you know what that shop ever did with the black SC300 with the white hood? Maybe you could ask about it. I never asked because I didn't want to find out it was a customer car; it would make me sad to find that out. Either which way, I know it's gone now. I've been by there a lot in the last couple of months, and noticed it was gone/moved. Yes. I'm local, and know where that shop is.
Ruler of the Under Sky % yeah it seemed to just be condensation, I have been keeping an eye on it since and it is apparent it only happened since for a month or so I only have a 5 min commute to work
Right on man, that's good. As bad as it was, it looked like a headgasket going bad. To have made the oil that white it must've been quite a bit of condensation. My GS300 oil cap has gotten condensation under it before, but it never made the oil on the cap that white.
I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze I was what would be good mods to make my car faster and look good and sound good I would like to hear your feed back on it please
iv owned a cruze for years stock they are supposed to make like 130-140 its the black trunk and spike lug nugs that kill it for me lmao like car would have been so much cleaner if you wasnt going for the 08 hot wheels vibe lmao
Im confused why it was so low on the stock run. There are so many problems with these cars, I feel like you can just upgrade shit as it falls apart. I have the 1.4T, but I'd like to tune it for 91-97 fuel, you get a lot out of that tune. Next will be some custom ducting, cuz I keep seeing people putting HOT AIR intakes in that are sucking air out of the engine compartment rather than fresh air flowing in, foolish. So much wasted $$ on looks... The front aero is preposterous with such a slow car, rear spoiler is useless... This is all confusing to me. I'd go TUNE/TURBO/RAM AIR DUCTING, IGNITION COILS, VALVE COVER, and if possible a better intake manifold, as well as ALL new hosing for it, as it's nylon garbage.... But in my case, replacing all the tubing with something substantial in quality would just be boost leak peace of mind, not for any immediate performance. You can also change gear ratios through software as well... Worth fucking around with, MAYBE. The transmission is SO DAMN SLOW, so maybe something with better clutches would be money more well spent before dicking with ratios. Who knows. But I def prefer the sleeper look, and REAL PERFORMANCE mods to gluing tacky stuff to my car/destroying any hope of reselling it, lol. and as far as the 2015 1.4T LTZ version, it has a front air splitter (fuel economy is it's intended design purpose, somewhat aesthetic too I am sure, DEF not to provide downforce you will never notice going a measly 180km/h, WAAAAAY more surface area needed to make downforce at such slow speeds, and you'll just go slower due to drag anyways) and REAL PERFORMANCE mods to gluing tacky stuff to my car/destroying any hope of reselling it, lol. Throw a strut tower brace on the front, stiffen up the suspension all around, and you'll get way more contact with the road and better handling in and out of corners than any silly front wing... I suspect all of those mods slow the car down, and cause drag. Also even the wheels, the bigger the rims, the more weight you're rotating, and the slower you will go, split the difference on the wheels, and get a good stiff tire with a solid side wall, you'll accelerate better, less stress on the CVs etc, and still, cuz it's just such a poor handling car anyways, you will have the stiffness in the rubber for corners. Just an FYI for anyone thinking of doing any mods to their Cruz... Fix the design flaws to the power train/engine/turbo/intake baffling as you upgrade, don't put on more chintzy crap, you'll want that money later (Especially since we own cruzes, ergo, we're poor people, lol!)
like it looks good don't get me wrong you've got good paint the splitter is nice like it all matched up good in the front but then the back and wheels just clapped the thing
The engine in this car was never meant to really tune it's turbo is meant to save on gas. There's a reason why they don't have many mod parts for this engine after 8 plus years, it's not built for this kinda thing. If you manage to put a bigger turbo in it you'll blow that lil 1.4 motor sky high
@@austinbooth5475 wife has 1.4l eco Turbo 17 inch rims and bells and whistles like touch screen camera anyways love the car solid and it's peppy after the turbo lag. One thing you should try that I did use a programmer chip and holy shit you can tell the difference you're going to spend a little money but you'll notice it
You know you could have just took the two liter turbo out of a Cobalt SS, and maybe even the wheels and called it a day you completely trashed the cruise.
Wait til you get a real car with actual power 132hp isn’t anything lol always keep in mind no replacement for displacement and when you run out of displacement add boost
Chef Gusta The numbers you guys are posting are crank horsepower, he posted wheel HP, which typically have about 15% loss. So multiply your stock HP times .85 to get your approximate wheel HP.
@@rhynoblasty8308 I have heard of people throwing small to medium single turbos on these small economy built 4 cyl. but I am nervous I am just going to blow it up and might as well start from ground zero and this isn't really the platform I wanted to build a full race car from
not sure if anyone cares but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last few days :)
SICK BACKFIRES BRO what a shitcan lol. Tuning a non turbo'd car....... just stop dude. Im sure 130 hp really puts you back in your seat. Jesus and its automatic. These chevy cruz kids are out of control
