At first I didn't like the pick-up truck look, but it's starting to grow on me. It stands out. It makes me think of a trophy truck, and nothing is cooler off road-wise than a TT. The styling is not as refined as Polaris and CanAm but so what. Off road performance vehicles are not McLaren's and Ferrari's. Robby is opening a different era for the SXS's. CanAm opened a different era as well, five or six years ago. Superior off road performance will propel the Speed brand. Win some races, and eventually beat Currie in Dakar. The engine sounds great in this video too. Great work Speed! Wish you the best of success!
The suspension is clearly the selling point of these rigs. It just looks planted everywhere. Even when landing front first it was soaking it all up. Really turning the sxs industry on its head if you can maintain this killer price point and be reliable. The quality is there for sure.
@Will Cooper base is $30k on their website. And base doesn’t come with a several thousand dollar discount like the other trims do. The RG edition starts at $36k but is $34k if you preorder today. . What does $30k get you with Can Am? A 72” smart shox 195hp car with less travel, smaller shocks front and rear, narrower track and shorter wheelbase. . So if you build a $50k version it will be nearly $50k for a can am as well... which isn’t even that uncommon. And it costs over $2k to get an x3 to be fairly bulletproof anyways. . They’re not going to blow their budget by 67% though, but definitely expect speed utv to be competitive with the upper end players especially since they’re newcomers to the market.
@Will Cooper I know, you buy the RG or limited editions today and it’s a couple thousand cheaper. It lists preorder price and launch price. That’s why I quoted you an example
Sounds like a snowmobile. I hate cvts but understand why they are using one. . A liter bike engine with sequential manual gearbox would be insane to hear on one of these.
@@johnrandolphsuperjet9986 Unfortunately all side by sides sound like suped up lawn mowers but this sxs will dust any on the market hands down!! Its essentially a scaled down trophy truck. Robs stated before they build and test parts for his trophy truck and then scale them down to work in a utv. So the main selling point is the superior parts, mechanics and overall function other makers simply can't match. One look at this thing and you can tell they are building it right. Not like these hokey cam-am's and polaris's. Who's not to say a few mods and you can probably pushing easy 400hp with E85, although more around 500hp would be better 👈🏼👍🏻😁👍🏻. Albeit, just get a loud!!! Blow off valve or fart can (depending on your taste) and then you won't even hear the engine LMAO!!
The amount of testing and the quality of the parts being used is really making me consider selling my pro xp and buying a speed UTV. I race and ride just like this thing is being tested and my rzr breaks all the damn time. This thing looks awesome. Keep up the great work!!
Hello BOBBY and SPEED UTV TEAM. I’m your fan from COSTA RICA. Congratulations, I’ve followed your process with this incredible UTV you built and I wished in this country taxes won’t be so high (53% more of US price) so I can buy one of your units. I own a RZR 1000Xp 2018 and really enjoy driving around the beautiful country side of my country. I hope you can come one day.. Congratulations for building THE BEST SPORT SXS EVER...
@@bobbychuck31 He is saying that the marketing for these UTV's is fucking GARBAGE. I agree 100% there isn't one single high-quality photo or video worth watching of this. This video is equivalent to what I would see of a high school student video production class. But even then they tell a story......
Hi Robby Gordon my dad put a deposit down on one of the four seats and I am so excited to get one also I met you at wanna of the sand sports show I think that is what it was called. Idk but keep up the great work and your amazing
Curious as to the weight bias is on that. It seems like its front end heavy maybe because it looks like the rear is hopping in the air a lot. Or am I wrong and not seeing things right ?
What's wrong with always being in the right gear? If you're going to sit here and tell me "belts always snap, blah blah blah" I've heard it all before, and I'd say probably 70-80% of belt failures are user error (not breaking in the belt properly or being in high/low when they should have been in low/high). The belt is the smoothest and quickest shifting method for SXS and makes the most sense. The next closest solution is a DCT like Honda, but then shifting is slower.. I'll give the DCT the advantage for minimal power loss, but CVT will always be quicker when tuned properly.
@@Omni_Moto Having gone from a Turbo Rzr to a YXZ1000R for me it was all about the involvement and the sound. CVT's are just boring af aside from the reliability concerns, sometimes the best performance isn't everything. Ofc that said I'm back to a CVT with my RMAX 1000 as I've switched to wanting to crawl more but one day I'll get another yxz or similar manual trans because they're just so much more fun to bang through gears. One other thing is that electrics are going to absolutely dominate the performance SxS market in 2-5 years and make this thing and all our current toys look like a joke anyway. If pure performance is all you care about then hold onto that cash til the end of 2021 and get ready for crazy fast BEV SxS's.
Robby is not trying to half ass this car. He wants everything tested multiple times so he doesn’t do what Polaris did on there first couple years of the 1000
I have a 2014 RZR and have noticed in the last 6 years of those machines how much better built they are. Especially with the new RZR pro models coming out they seem for the most part built right. My guess is by the time they are ready for full on production nation wide polaris and can am will have the rest of their issues practically worked out and this machine will struggle to find its niche because people are pretty brand loyal and have no idea what problems the speed utv will have. I hope im wrong and not trying to diss them because competition breeds better products for consumers.
WARNING: Scariest part of video is :16 - Welding with brake clean in background - spray brake clean then weld = Death ☠️ or if lucky only suffer permanent nerve damage. Speed - I want one
my P100D sounds gutless.. i havent been smoked yet.. and its not like my friends dont drive million dollar cars.. lol i got smoked by a funny car once. but i think that doesnt count. i can carry 4 passengers in my car excluding myself of course. but i hear you my honda grom sound better than this thing
It's never going to be a east coast utv. That thing wouldn't last a day in the hills, mud, rocks and it had to be designed by tesla because it's the ugliest thing on 4 wheels. I get it it's a build for the desert and a custom thing but damn
So,what was the point of this video? There doesnt seem to be any plan , just a bunch of random clips strung together. And, its still ugly as hell. Keep drinking your own coolaid but you got a long way to go if you plan to compete, sales wise anyway, with the big boys in the side by side market.
