NO NO i like that because if he gets too BIG he wont have time to answer questions, talk to us on the phone, and be to busy to have real customers and be a normal dude. He'll start selling merch and before you know it, there will be a reality show, some BRO Country singer will sponsor a build and he be walking around SEMA with an entourage. AND there goes another good guy. no more help. I took this way too far lol

Great vid - the Chopacabra is a play on the word Chupacabra - which is Spanish for “goat sucker”. It’s a cryptid animal in Texas and the American Southwest/Mexico. Most likely a coyote with mange. Now if a Louisiana shop would come out with the WampusCat Cam we’d be all set!

2:20 The truck has"243" LS cylinder heads which originally came on the 2001-2004 Corvette C5 Z06. Just an observation that it no longer has the factory "706" LS heads. So it's a little less "stock" than some might think.

I’m not unintelligent by a long shot, and I’ve tuned with other softwares before. Nothing American but man, hp tuners proves to me over and over that’s it’s overly complicated. You seem to know it extremely well but as someone that’s new to it, I don’t wanna touch it tbh. I just feel like it could be 100x simpler. There are a million tables 😂😂 I’m not gonna give up on learning it but I doubt I’ll ever actually tune something using it. I’d much rather tune a standalone system. lol great video though! 🔥

I love all the videos, I would love to sit more on the Gen 3 stuff because I know Gen 3 vs 4 is different. I was trying to tune my truck and somehow, someway. I screwed it way up. I'm not sure if i should be tuning for the MAF or VE table. I know when I start my truck, you can hear the intake pulling ALOT of air, then STFT kick in and bring them back down. However love all the videos, Keep them coming.
@Matt_Sanford

I will do more Gen 3 but the principle is the same on all of them. Get the MAF dialed and then dial in the VE. Make MAF your priority when you start the tuning process.

There's an internal o-ring that basically seals the front of the driveshaft yoke, they go bad and leak into the splines, then out that weep hole. It's an easy $5 fix, just not very common knowledge that o-ring is in there.

I’m a big Toyota guy but would not mind building the Tahoe to at least have as much or more power than my 5.7 Tundra. Any suggestions on where to start or how much of an investment it might take? I’m not naive. I know that a person can spend anywhere from a couple of grand to probably 30 or 40 grand. Just kind of looking for a starting point and some advice. Thanks.

When you disable LTFTs during tuning do you re-enable them once you're done? And I'm curious why you ditch them in the first place, I probably missed the explanation in a previous video.
@Go69

The coolant leak is at the "Y" connector coming right off the water pump... Run your fingers on the UNDERSIDE of the "Y" connector and when it comes back wet-you have found your leak. The trans is leaking fluid through the drive shaft yoke because the transmission has been replaced, or rebuilt, and the is now missing the output shaft SLEEVE that seals to the yoke inside the extension housing. Very easy fix but will require that the shaft come out, and extension housing be removed to install a sleeve... OR, just pull the shaft, and plug the hole in the yoke... Either way works.

Matt, when it comes to using the STFT data, in the event of remote tuning or even in person where a wideband isn’t being used……..At what point is the STFT data for the ve/maf tables essentially “not good”? I would assume that when the vehicle enters OPEN LOOP that will present a problem?

GRG has a Gen 5 EEV/MAF tunning at the same time Function....thing IDK. it tunes them both at the same time. my question is, in your function, do you use EQ Error (which as far as I can tell requires the wide band O2 to work) in your stuff? i still learning but have a bone stock truck, other than cam, and didnt want to drill a hole in the factory down pipe. is there a real way around this, and still do what your doing? If a have too, I have to, but im just curious. I have aslo been told that the tail pipe widebands have some unavodable errors in them.
@477racing
@477racing Месяц назад
If I change my Stoich to E10 14.12, and I tune cruising and idle using STFT's, are the O2 sensors going to be properly targeting 14.12?
@jimmyfreeze3782

Does it pay to dial in the nb's after header installation to make up for the error caused by downstream relocate? Say you have nb- wb sensors that are within >2% behind a stock manifold, then after headers the nb's go way out of wack...10+ percent. In this video say the wb is correct, does that mean the truck is running ballpark 10% lean in CL or if nb are correct is PE way off?

Matt, if we are doing MAF or VE Tuning at Idle/Part Throttle do we need to disable Power Enrichment? Does it even matter? Also, Is it safe to say that all of these vehicles need to have Stoich flatlined to 14.10?
@Matt_Sanford
@Matt_Sanford 2 месяца назад
You don’t ever have to disable Power Enrichment. All that does is change commanded AFR/EQ Ratio and we are tuning for the error between actual and commanded so even if commanded changes during the tuning process, the actual will follow suit. Hope that makes sense. I’m not sure why the information ever got out about disabling PE. Same with DFCO, I never disable that either.

@coboscustoms4342
@coboscustoms4342 2 месяца назад
Turning off the long-term fuel terms in my opinion is just the laziest way of tuning. Didn't you say yourself just a couple minutes prior to that its best to keep all of the original features working if possible" don't disable things...... I understand if you're in a scenario where belong to headers make one o2 sensor read a lot worse than the other but that's extremely rare and easily fixable. Almost every vehicle that comes to my shop that was tuned by somebody else has the fuel trim turned off and usuall it's a really basic tune that had absolutely no reason to have the fuel trims turned off. it cuts their mileage in half and causes them problems returning to idle. I can tell you've got a lot of experience doing thiso I want to know why you think it's necessary to turn off the fuel trims.
@Matt_Sanford
@Matt_Sanford 2 месяца назад
You are allowed to have your opinion but after doing this for 18 years, I also have to consider my customers. LTFTs learn bad habits with exhaust leaks, misfires, etc. Customers will fix the problem and then think their vehicle needs to be retuned because it still runs poorly due to learned fuel trims. Thats why I do it my way. It literally takes me 1 second to turn them back on so it isn’t a lazy thing. I don’t do basic tunes though. If you saw one of my completed tunes in full, you would see that. The only reason it would cause fuel mileage issue or issues returning to idle is if the vehicle isn’t calibrated properly. Poor tuning causes that, not LTFT being disabled.
@Matt_Sanford
@Matt_Sanford 2 месяца назад
Also turning off LTFT doesn’t disable closed loop fueling. It just disables learned closed loop fueling. They still have short term fuel trims that can correct as normal. I think you are thinking disabling closed loop fueling which is completely different.
@coboscustoms4342
@coboscustoms4342 2 месяца назад
@@Matt_Sanford in a scenario where fuel quality changed, air quality, ambient temperature, dirty maf, all the absolutely normal stuff that can change makes the long terms much better to have on so that way it's not just gonna default to the values that best suited it to the environment you tuned it in every time you let off the throttle. The Ltft is what stabilizes that before the stft has to compensate.
@coboscustoms4342
@coboscustoms4342 2 месяца назад
