I have the 2008 special edition been turbocharged and another 25K into the bike at 94 octane 317 HP on the Dyno,must say that the ZX12 in black and gold is the best looking modern Kawasaki! Looking for a mint one in that colour,if someone got one to unload message me,I live just east of Toronto.
Nice I've had both these bikes and loved them, but that Dyno is reading high. My 12R with pipe and tune was 174 @ the wheel and my 14 was 180 stock. To have over 200hp at the wheel you need some big motor work.
The 14R from 2012 -2015 made 210RWHP as confirmed by the EPA. 2016 and after made 197rwhp because of the later emissions standards. The ZX1400 from 2006-2012 made 180rwhp. If you had a ZX14R that only made 180 you have real engine problems.
Speedo speed and true speed is way apart especially on those high numbers. But this 12 was -1 in front so lost alot there... i also have a 99busa going 350 on speedo true speed was 314.
zx12r was not a 90s bike it was naughtys bike released in 2000 had mine on dyno 159bhp at back wheel stock bike. I am quite sure many modern bikes can beat this now with ease 18 yrs on! back in 2000 nothing passed me that i didnt want to!
Don't underestimate the 12 it's a beast I had zzr1100's for years and rode a mates blackbird heaps but nothing really blew me away till i rode the 12, I now have a 2017 zx14r and love it.
@@chrisobrien3574 I've been their also brother, purchased new 1990 ZX11 that bike was the fastest hands down for almost 10 yrs. Then got ZX12 got stolen,best big bore looking Kawasaki ever,now 2008 ZX14 special edition that's been turbocharged and 25K into her it's my touring bike,lol my daily ride is 2015 H2 nice with the electronics wizardry,yes my old 14 pulls much harder above 180kph than my H2.
@@markgc65 Hey bro... I ride an A1 ZX-12R '00 (unrestricted), full aftermarket exhaustsystem with carbon muffler from REMUS RACING and +2 rear sprocket... With her, I eat busa's for breakfast,to the day NOBODY has beaten me on a straight line and even in twisties those S 1000RR's,CBR 1000RR's are'nt so much faster...😎
Zx14r yes 215Hp, maybe, but because to much heavy loose always from Zx10, Zx12r, Gsxr1000, and many other bikes, is better Hayabusa, more faster than Zx14r
Why do people like yourself make these comments. The Busa is indeed a very quick bike but is beaten in every metric by the ZX14R. Not an opinion, a fact based on every performance test. You also seem to be unaware that the ZX14R holds the record for the fastest 1/4 mile for a production bike. But hey, why let facts change your opinion.
