The left fork sticker for Bergstrom AFB (closed in 1993) is a great relic to its age. Cool bike

I love this bike. It would have been nice if Suzuki created a whole family of nakeds with the Intruder engines, from 600cc to 1400cc. Greetings.

Genau! Es gibt eine Reihe an Modellen aus der Zeit wo Suzuki echt ganze Arbeit geleistet hat. Und die sehen sich auch recht ähnlich... Das ist wie meine GM51B (GS500) bloß mit V Motor und 300 Kubik größer. Das Cockpit ist 1:1 das selbe und in seiner herrlichen Aufgeräumtheit kaum zu überbieten:) 1000 mal besser als was heute durch die Straßen heult und sirrt an übertechnisierten, totregulierten Plastikhaufen, für viel zu viel Geld. Damals in den 90gern, da ging noch was!

@@xemirov9298 absolut, die Cockpits waren teils fast wie bei Autos. Und das Design wunderschön langgestreckt. Eine gerade Linie! Ich hab aktuell 2 Suzi 750 AE im Schaufenster-zustand. Und bessere Verarbeitung trotz 24 Jahre, als die heutigen Joghurt Becher. Auch hatten wir 2 Honda CBF 1000FA. Toller Motor, aber Verarbeitung, naja. Aktuell gibt es nur noch schöne Retrobikes. Aber mit dem neuzeugs kann auch ich nichts anfangen. Viele Grüße

I have a GS 500 and I have the feeling they are related somewhow. The tank, cockpit and seat look very similar. Or maybe it is due to their shared point in time, they were manufactured

I owned a VX800 for many years and many kilometers. Most consumable parts (brake pads, filters, etc) were readily available but on the rare occasion where I needed less frequently used parts (speedometer drive, indicator switch gear) the GS500 parts fitted straight on. Engine, gearbox and drive train components are all still available as they are in common with the M50, Marauder and Boulevard models.

The VX800 is a parts bin special, a way of getting rid of those gutless old Intruder engines.

The rattle in the exhaust is caused by the inner tube of the double skin becomming partially detached. They all do it in time and mine has just gone on the left side. Will have to be cut apart and re welded. Nice bikes though and worth doing.

I had one of those when they were new. I quickly outgrew it. Especially the suspension. Did not like it's cold-blooded nature either. Other than that it was a competent motorcycle.
