A multi-sensory approach to teaching has long been recognised by professionals working with dyslexic learners or those with other specific learning differences.
Where it's being applied across mixed ability groups a multi-sensory approach is proven to help all learners even those without a learning difficulty.

I am 39 and have just found out that I am dyslexic. One thing I have to say is that English language from a logical point is insane. Phonetic should be spelled Fo-net-ic, friends should be fr-ends. Language and pronunciation rules of written language should apply all the time. Different words should be used for different meanings, (there, their and they're shouldn't exist) The exact same word pronounced for totally different thing. Nor should, things like, going to a "live" show vs go "live" your life. Two words spelled the exactly same with different meanings and pronunciations.

Does it really work? All of the multisensory activities. does the teacher have to make up the daily program by scratch? Or is there a systematic data researched program designed by years of fieldwork tested on individuals with dyslexia?

Yes it works. There are many different programs. Slingerland, Heggerty, they typically say they are aligned with Orton Gillingham methods
