Today I am comparing the new Dyson Airstrait with the other Dyson hair straightner, the Corrale. I am not a professional stylist and have not gone into a full how to but I do review both products with clips showing me using them.
I have used the Corrale to curl and straighten with footage of both of these uses throughout the video.
I have used the Airstrait to straighten my hair from both wet and dry conditions.
If you have any questions about either device, please let me know and I will answer as best as I can.
Here is my how to on the Dyson Airwrap as well as my thoughts on it and the Supersonic dryer:

Thanks for the comparison!!! I love the detail you provided with your comparison. Dyson hair tools are simply the best even though they are expensive, they are worth it to me. Your description of the final looks between the two is perfect. The Corrale leaves the hair professional; whereas, the AirStrait leaves it straight but natural. Glad I discovered your channel.

Thank you for review. Does the air strait also straightens the roots well? Whenever I dry my hair using air wrap I have to pull my straightener for baby hairs in the front. The airwrap does not reach that so I have to straighten them. Wondering if airstraight have the same issue?

I was able to get pretty close to the roots with the airstrait to get everything straight, but I’ve not noticed that issue with my airwrap before.

I have naturally textured hair and use my Airwrap to blow dry my hair often with no issue. I use the smoothing brush allover, then I take the round brush attachment and smooth out my roots. Works great for my hair needs and the look I prefer. Since I do prefer wearing my hair straight, I will probably pick up the airstrait to add to my collection. As far as the roots with the air strait, I will use my regular round brush to get the roots smooth then continue with the blow dry/straighten. I just watched a video where the person (Jasmine something, can’t recall her last name) and she did that and it worked great!!

Appreciate the video! I am thinking of ordering both and gifting them to my wife on 2 different occasions. Would it really make sense to own both at the same time?
@accountingforluxury
@accountingforluxury Год назад
Apologies for the coming novel! I can see why people would consider owning both because in my opinion they are meant for somewhat different purposes. For me I just preferred the look the corrale gave me that I didn’t see myself using the air strait at home. I have now traveled with the corrale on a three day trip, where I straightened my hair twice. That used the full charge, but because of the trip duration I was able to leave my charger at home. I showered at night to avoid the use of a blow dryer, so I was able to get away with just the cordless corrale. If I was going on longer trips though I see the benefit of an airstrait because I would have had to bring at least my charger if the trip was any longer. If she has other dyson tools already, I’d recommend to get her the corrale first and watch her routine at home and travel to see if the battery length or need of a dryer ever appears to cause her any issues, then you add the airstrait if it does.

I have the Airstrait and I love it. I had the Corrale and returned it because it has to be charged for at least 1 hour before using it even if it’s plugged in while using it. When it’s unplugged it quickly starts to lose its charge however it also loses charge while plugged in. Don’t ask me why it just does. I called support and they confirmed it. If you have short hair it will work. I have very long hair so it didn’t work for me. Additionally it lost heat while it was plugged. What the heck! Anyhow, I wouldn’t get the Corrale. If I have an appliance plugged in I expect it to work while plugged in.
@accountingforluxury

@@Kindlyone777 how interesting! I’m able to charge mine, leaving unplugged and using it for two-three days in a row, no problem. It also does keep charging for me while in use if I set it on the charger.

So if I have the airwrap and I'm trying to choose between the two I'd probably want the Airstrait?
@accountingforluxury
@accountingforluxury Год назад
if you have the airwrap, I think it depends on if you’re going for a more natural straight or a more salon professional straight. I have the airwrap and went with the corral anyway because I prefer the way it straightens and I can take Justine thing to curl and straighten when I travel.

I didn’t feel like I could get the ends to massively turn under with the airstrait because it’s more subtle, but it’s definitely possible with the corrale.

I love my corrale. Would you rather have the supersonic and the corrale, or just the air strait?
@accountingforluxury
@accountingforluxury Год назад
I think because with the airstrait it only does just a straight blow dry, I’d still go for the corrale and supersonic even if I didn’t have either. I wouldn’t buy them both at the same time because of that costing me $1000 with tax but eventually having both would still be my preference.

@accountingforluxury
@accountingforluxury Год назад
Looking at the box, manual, and website, I don’t think it is made to switch between voltage types. The website is the strongest basis for this as it says that it is made for the voltage of the country it’s sold in, so it should work in your country but not necessarily while traveling to others. I could be wrong of course but based on what I’m reading it is not like the corrale.

You are using to large a section when using the airstrait. It is falling out the sides
@accountingforluxury
@accountingforluxury 11 месяцев назад
That is one of the things I wanted to show is that you can’t do big sections of hair. It has to be small because it blows the hair out which made it annoying for me to use :/ The forage I showed is just the one time I filmed it and I tried all different width sections but even small sections still blow strands out on me.

@accountingforluxury

For me with regular hair dryers it definitely would take at least 35-40 minutes. I don’t know why but the dyson dries it very quick. A couple of other things I think have helped though is the Kenra blow dry spray and the kitsch towel hair scrunch both seem to help moisture get out.

I’m sorry you’ve had this experience. I think someone else has also mentioned this in the comments, but I’ve had zero charge problems. I get at least 30-40 minutes charge with mine and that is over several days not being recharged. Like I said in the video straightening takes me 5-10 minutes with this device, and I’ve been able to get 4 uses out of it on a charge. I use the middle heat setting, sonn bb perhaps if you are using the highest setting this causes a greater loss in battery life. When I curl my hair I’ve been able to get a fully curled styled and a straightened style on a charge.

I appreciate the feedback here, especially as I’m not in any way a styling pro or professional beauty blogger as I stated in the video. I did actually have my hair very sectioned, but for time sake I just didn’t want to show 20 minutes of styling footage and tried to show relevant short shots instead. My filming set up is for my conversational opinion based luxury videos, so I’m sorry this was not a helpful format for you.
