When I got my Dyson 12 it worked so good It filled the chamber rather quickly and Dyson did your homework on this by increasing the capacity. which decreases your emptying cycles anyway great review man… Keep on rocking
I would love to see a test on pet hair that is more embedded into the carpet, since that's realistic. I don't understand why every test I see done is shown with pet hair or other hair just put on top of the carpet in clumps, which is not all all the issue pet owners deal with. But overall, good video with lots of info on this vacuum. Thank you!
i am racking my brain trying to choose a Dyson stick vacuum...narrowed it down to Gen5 outsize 1399 / Gen5 1199 / V15 detect 999 thats in canadian funds........i notice online there are less attachments available to the Gen5 line compared to the V15....the cleaning kit is wanted but only the V15 can get it between the 3 vacuums i am pondering.....we are 58 years old with aging joints...lol..plus we have a dog....wanna use it for house and car...mostly hardwood floors except one room plus there are various area rugs.....the 2 floors are a total of about 2500 sq ft....at the end of the day i would also like an extra battery...honestly which would you recommend ?....we also thought about the V12 but the storage bin seems pretty small plus we would like more power....thx for your reviews....cheers from Canada
If money is no object I would go with the Gen5 Outsize in your case. A house that size will benefit from the larger bin, battery, cleaning head, and run time. The others will work fine as well, but the Outsize larger size makes a lot of sense for your situation.
The problem I see with the gen 5 outsize, it doesn't have the torque drive digital motorbar The torque drive is good for carpeted stairs, however the conventional digital motor bar doesn't seem to have the oomph when it comes to cleaning carpeted stairs. Like my V11 absolute pro and some V15s. Thats another thing that the gen5 detect lacks is enough oomph for carpeted stairs.
I just bought the v15 and now I'm realizing i want the gen5outsize. I wish there was a quick way to get rid of my v15 so i could purchase this instead.
Not a bad review but you left out the most basic and fundamental part, how to you charge it? Though this seems like a trivial question, for those looking to potentially purchase one, knowing whether or not you can charge the battery without it being installed in the vacuum is important information.
You can charge it with the batter inside or just lying on the counter. There's a basic charging pin port on the battery. Dyson's click in battery system allows you to put the battery wherever you want.
2:14 the soft roller brush is worse at everything except eating larger debris like Cheerios for testing used by RU-vidrs. Large debris should be picked up or lay a carpet roller brush on top of the debris. The soft roller brush is just a recent thing that should be abandoned by this industry
