I can't get the beater bar piece disengaged from the main unit. Also the bar doesn't spin around. Have cleared all other parts of the vacuum and cleaned the filter. Frustrated.
3 Days into owning a Dyson small Ball 2, the suction had gone and I was not a happy customer. Fortunately, I found this video, fixed within minutes, I now have the knowledge to sort this out myself, thank you so much, am much calmer now.
Absolutely fantastic information, my hoover was blocked I went on RU-vid to find out how to unblock and hey presto. My hoover is now working brilliant again, thanks. 😁😁😁

Thanks for this video, it worked for me. Now I think I got rid of a functional vacuum cleaner 3 months ago and replaced it, when all I had to do was this
Is it possible for a warped plastic cover (not sealing tightly) on the opening to the rear and left of the center hole on the ball to cause loss of suction on the floor unit? I have cleaned everything per your very clear instructions and am still having loss of suction on the floor unit only. Could I put tape on it? Thank you.
I agree, see my comment. It’s basically a premium price tag for a very poorly designed product. Dyson could have done much better by just improving what already worked well, but instead they had to try to reinvent the wheel.
Mine will not start sucking for about 10 minutes back and forth same spot then all of a sudden it starts picking and does great until I’m finished. First 10 minutes is BS though
We'd recommend either contacting the Dyson helpline in your country directly, using a live chat service on the Dyson website if available, or sending us a DM via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter/X: @ AskDyson.
No, it doesn't show you how to clear the pipes between the "internal pipe" and the cyclone/main chamber. They have red tabs, but it's not clear how to access them.
We'll be happy to look into this for you. Kindly PM us with the info on Facebook. Can you provide us the following info: - Full Name - Full Address including Postal/Eircode - Machine Serial Number & purchase date - Contact Number - Email Address This would have to be done via one of the social media platforms EG:FB twitter insta.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Please message us on Twitter @AskDyson, Facebook or Instagram. We'll be happy to take a look at your issues from there. Take care.
Diane, feel free to send us a direct message on Twitter at twitter.com/AskDyson or private message from facebook.com/dyson with the serial number of your machine & we'll try & help you with this.
I’m sorry but not a fan of this Dyson as it’s not only so bottom heavy, which must make it impossible for less able or elderly people to use. I also find it a pain in the backside to service as it’s designed in such a way that there are parts where debris gets caught are pretty inaccessible, it is possible to get in to clear but is certainly not easy by design. And that’s coming from a person who has been taking things apart and putting them back together since I was a child. As I have a natural gift when it comes to things of that nature as I had that curiosity as a child to take everything apart to understand exactly how it worked. And the way the attachments connect onto the hose is a step backward in my opinion as it is just so awkward. Dyson have some great products and I am a fan, but not of this abomination I have to say. Whoever designed it missed the mark in my opinion. As earlier models like the DC07 were much better at the job they were designed to do, ok there could have been improvements to make them even better for sure. But they were a great product and sucked up all the dirt really well and were pretty easy to service and clean, unlike this model. I would not have let something like this get past the product development stage, let alone took it to market. Sorry to be negative but the truth must be told, like I say I am a fan of Dyson as a company since it’s conception. And usually love their products, I can remember when the hairdryer came out and I checked one out in Curry’s by giving it a blast and the air current caught a passing bloke who went “Ohhh” he was as surprised as I was by it’s power. And the fans have blown me away (pun intended) by their low noise level and power. I hope To be amazed again in the not too distant future.
@@dyson Thanks for the response, I did not expect any reply. I don’t need help though as it was just expressing my honest opinion regarding one of your products.
We welcome feedback from our customers. We're always trying to develop our technology and improve our machines, comments from our customers help us to get it right. We really appreciate your support.
Great question! You'll be happy to know many customers still own our earlier technology and can use this video to keep their machine running as intended.
Great question? NO, it's an idiotic question. The video is retained because people don't buy a brand new vacuum cleaner every time the new model is released.
@@kjnijnpiub Yes, you are right!😀 I got my first Dyson in '06(Dyson DC14 Animal 00053)$549.00. It lasted me seven years. It would've lasted longer if it didn't fall down from the stairs outside... Then I purchased another Dyson in '14, still works great. Except the little brushes keep coming off the brush bar.
