Overpriced rubbish!! I've just had the High Torque Head replaced, it was completely ruined. The inside of the barrel was gouged out where the whole cylinder had been running off centre. Yes, free of charge from Dyson, but for this price it has way too many faults! I have an up upright Dyson now 12 years old. That has proved to be a good cleaner, but their range now is really rubbish! I would never buy another one.

I recently picked up the V8 Absolute on sale from Dyson for 350 euros. If the V11 is 600 UK pounds I'd suggest buying 2 Dyson V8's instead- one for upstairs and one for the downstairs...no more battery woes!
@stevejones1972
@stevejones1972 5 лет назад
The V8 is better in the ergonomic point of view, in that its smaller and more compact for doing abover floor cleaning, but the battery, like other cordless vacuums only lasts for 300 - 500 charge cycles, and if MAX power is used regularly, the battery will die and require replacing even quicker as they get hot when used on MAX and that kills them off quicker. Some people have had to start replacing batteries and brushrolls within the first 2 years from new, so battery tech is not that brilliant, as Dyson would like us to believe. Here is a review on a V8 that shows a knackered battery and totally worn out brushroll on a V8 at just 16 months old - like other Dyson cordless vacs, the carbon fibre filaments have totally been worn away on its brushroll. Dyson cordless vacuums are not that great quality, Malaysian built and you need to treat them with delicate hands, or they WILL break: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KYR1T9GyDgI.html

@nick2203
@nick2203 5 лет назад
Despite the £600 purchase price this machine is still made of relatively brittle, creaky plastic and more importantly it has a broken part after just a couple of weeks use. You wouldn't expect a budget price vacuum to break after 2 weeks use let alone one costing £600. Now I'm sure Dyson would replace the broken part under warranty, as you say but on a £600 machine, it shouldn't fail after so little use. Dyson would have us believe that this machine can replace a mains vacuum cleaner and yes I'm sure it performs well but if that is the case when considering the cost of this machine it should be supplied with two batteries. Personally, I think that if anyone is looking for a replacement vacuum cleaner and they have a £600 budget then for the money they would be better off buying a quality brand mains vacuum such as a Sebo or Miele and something like a Shark cordless vacuum if they want the convenience of a cordless for daily quick cleaning.
@nick2203
@nick2203 5 лет назад
@Dickie Chaznick My main point here concerned the cost of the V11, which at £600 is expensive. Also, considering the cost of this machine is made from relatively brittle plastics and is only supplied with one battery. As for your theory that the Vuplex caused the damage to the machine I find that hard to believe when you consider the fact that Sam from Beko1987 had the torque head fail on his V11 and as far as I'm aware he did not use Vuplex on his V11. As vacuum enthusiasts and collectors I would suggest that both Ibaisaic and Beko1987 are far more likely to maintain their machines properly by cleaning filters regularly etc, whereas some V11 owners might not maintain their machines as well. Finally, I'm not criticising the performance of the V11 as it is clear from various demonstrations that it performs well with good cleaning results but unless you are employed by Dyson I fail to understand why you would want to defend this product so vigorously when clearly it is expensive and more importantly it has the build quality and possible durability issues,

@ibaisaic

I cannot confirm anything as I returned this cleaner and got my money back. I would be very interested to hear where you heard that James Dyson is claiming a 15 year battery life because 3 years or 4 if you're lucky would be more realistic. After all, Dyson only give a two year guarantee on their cordless cleaners.

@stevejones1972
@stevejones1972 5 лет назад
They are just not worth £600, end of. I'll stick with my V6 Absolute and V8 Total Clean, as I think the V6 is far more agile and compact for above floor use than the V11 is. Its a pity they discontinued the V6, as its compact size is its best attribute. Sometime small is better , and for a cordless hand vac, this is the case for me. The V11 and V10 design is better suited as an upright substitute rather than a hand vac. Its not good that both yourself and Beko1987 had parts of the Torque drive head fail, and different parts too, and Dyson seem to need to go back to the drawing board if these failures are down to poor quality and poor design. They also seem not to have fixed the issue with the motor being able to be operated by accident by knocking the trigger when emptying the dust bin. If the motor is operated when the bin door is open, then dust in the compartment under the cyclones (the cyclone discharge chamber), is sucked back through the cyclones in reverse and straight onto the pre-motor filter, so if people suffer really dirty filters, then they should enure they never operate the motor with the bin door open, by mistake or not, it makes your filter dirty to do so.

Very disappointing, most likely a design defect which is simply not good enough. I recall Paul Dyson being interviewed last year where he stated that if after testing, parts of his vacuum cleaners failed they didn't increase the weight of the product they changed the design. Well perhaps this time they got it wrong and they have in the past. Years ago I had a DC03, perfectly compact and performed remarkably well for its wattage, however over a period of a couple of years despite careful use it progressively disintegrated, first the brush-bar guard broke then the main handle and so on until I switched to a Miele which still works perfectly. I also have a brilliant little V6 for everyday lighter use, perfect for the job, but Dyson mustn't be complacent, the competition may catch up!

I've had a Dyson animal upright for 4years without an issue.

@@shayehaines2431. I had a dc08 which was OK but kept melting the bearing cup's on the air drivin rotor head so I upgraded to one with a powered brush head which was brilliant at first but this to kept burning out the rotor bearings, then the telescopic pipe decided to fall apart which was dangerous because it had a 240v cable running down it to power the head. Then I made another mistake by buying a cordless, the battery lasted about a month but apparently according to Dyson it was all my fault through misuse which was the same reply I got with the other two products. That's almost £1000 I've wasted now with no help from Dyson whatsoever. Now I buy vax and as so far everything is good

Their products aren't that well made in my opinion.....the only real R&D is the original cyclone system is all. Best to get them on sale since they aren't worth the price when you get brittle plastic as the main body and parts

until you unbox one and see for yourself, despite the plastic, it's a very well made product - i think you should reserve your comments for products that you have personal experience with

@@knfbnny I have owned v7 animal , V8 total clean , and my last one was the v10 absolute . So I am experienced with their hand held , although I returned the v8 after 90 days of use since it crapped out.

It is cheap, or at least it will seem cheap when Dyson launch the V12 starting at £800. 😄

Have bought a Dyson V11 and have had to exchange it 3 times now i need a new roller because the blades are falling apart. Also need a new filter but its impossible to buy them. What a useless machine. A complete waste of money. This is the last Dyson product i will ever buy. Its impossible to buya new filter for this machine.

I have been accused of breaking my High Torque head deliberately, but I know of many people who have had to have theirs replaced. As for the filter, although it is not available to buy on Dyson’s website yet, I’m sure it will be available soon. I hope you found something good to replace the Dyson.

Len W a $500 broom IMO. I think you’d be better off with an old fashion broom or a full size vac. The v series is too in between to be useful imo.
