I just bought this 2 years after this video, last weekend, on the Home Shopping Network. The instructions remind me of the Ikea furniture assembly instructions, USDA Grade A Certified Shitty. Side note: I paid $450 for this top of the line Dyson cordless vacuum. It did not disappoint, and after using everything it certainly did impress. So WTH Dyson! Is the way it works: the more money I spend the shittier the instructions. Spent five minutes wondering how I open the canister to clean it. No luck. Found your video, bam boom pow, a miracle has occurred. Thanks! P.S. I love this vacuum.

You can remove the plastic canister. I still don’t think you can rinse it, but you can more easily wipe things down - once the large red lever opens the canister, find the smaller red button with “1” on it and push it in and slide like the white sticker shows for step 2

Very first time I went to empty my container the entire canister came off in the trash, I thought I broke it. But it slid back in, but now I know the whole thing can come off for cleaning

Thought dust container was stuck. It does require quite a hefty push down on the red lever. Be careful it doesn’t complete fly off sending the dust all over the place. I suppose you can always vacuum it back up!

When you clean it, spray it with some WD-40 before you put it back together. I finally got it out.

Using a silicone based lubricant would be better. I love WD-40, but there is a proper place for everything. My red lever is completely seized up. Cannot open to release the lid. It's one 6 months old. Any suggestion because customer service is non existent. Worst company I have ever dealt with.
