I’ve been vacuuming every morning since I’ve got it and there’s a good amount of dirt in the bin every morning I guess you don’t realize how much dirt adds up in 24 hours I have a dog though.

I tested the V10's brush on the V11 and the machine was able to 'sense' the difference between carpet and hardwood. So the sensor is actually embedded inside the V11. Likely an air flow to power consumption / friction ratio that triggers the extra power requirement, thus adjusting the battery remaining time

The tip about keeping the gates open is appreciated; I've a V10 and I love it. Long hair remains an issue, the power comparison is interesting as I've noticed after a year or so, I've begun using setting medium and high more often than not. Filtration and cleaning the filters remains a hassle but a small price to pay for what to me, is no doubt hands down the best vacuum corded or un-corded, I've used.

Thank you so much for this. I will be looking at a V11 now. The only big negative for me is charging time. It's crazy Dyson has made swappable batteries with charging base almost impossible unless you know how to solder. It would make owning a cordless V11 absolutely perfect. Until they see the light (hopefully in the V12) I'll have to keep my Big Ball on backup.

Thanks for this review! Saved myself $100 and got the V10 Animal. Battery life is directly proportional to weight, it's not a breakthrough in technology. The way I see it, 25% more weight for 2% better performance on the Deep Clean Test is not worth the additional weight and expense (and that's a lot of weight difference, might as well go back to corded vacuuming if I wanted to lug around something heavy). I'm comparing performance High to High, as that's all I care about -- we're mostly hard flooring so I just run High on area rugs and have no problem with battery life.

In your Roidmi F8 video you indicated that the V10's suction was 24, 31 and 53 yet in this video you claim the suction is 18, 24 and 41. Could you explain?

Have had the V10 for approx 6 months. It is fine. In my house, we almost exclusively use the hardwood soft roller. For whatever reason, I did not know that Dyson put out new vacuums every year or I would have waited for the new one. Next upgrade I'll wait, but hopefully, the V10 will last many years and I can then pick up the new V16

Considering the similar design, I feel like the v10 is the sweet spot in the line. Great performance, but not crazy priced. The extra battery in the v11 is good but on it's own I don't think it's worth the premium. Wish he would give input on value, is it worth it when comparing the two

I agree with pretty much everything you say after having had mine for 4 days, it really is a great little thing! Just the price man, the price is a barrier it's a vacuum for the iPhone x generation...

I loved your take on the v11! Yeah the price is way high, same price in the us as the v10 absolute when it came out but without the fluffy, so essentialy an increase of 100 bucks from the v10.

Just ditched my v8 and bought the v11. And it’s a huge improvement to say the least. The v10 felt like an incremental and pointless upgrade, while the v11 truly felt like the generational shift that the v10 should have been.

The V11 looks amazing...makes me want to switch to cordless all the way :)....you should definitely do a filtration test on used machines, like the V7, V8 or V10 after 1 or 2 years of use. It would be so amazing if the particle counter would show 0 on a beaten up cordless machine like a 10 year old Miele with a HEPA filter would. If it would, then the V series Dyson would be coming to my house this year :)

Great video! would u ever do a cinetic big ball animal pro vs Dyson v11? I'm still not convinced.... have the biggest ball and a handstick downstairs and a v7 upstairs. (Have 3 long haired dogs that shed huge amounts of hair)

You should test Bosch Unlimited Serie 8. Maybe the BCS1ULTD or the BBS1ZOO. It seems light, has a low sound volume, you don't have to hold the suction button, the battery system is genius with easy changable batteries.

I love your videos. Always amazing. But what really would make more of a true to life test is if these vacuums work the same way after 3, 6 and 12 months. Would like to see you make a video on how it holds up. Seems amazing out of the box but reading reviews, it seems to break before a year even ends. So its keeping me from buying one

I’ve never heard of a Dyson breaking. They’re made out of the same stuff as riot shields, so it’s hard to imagine any normal wear and tear even doing as much as cracking the bin. The best I could think is that they get clogged sometimes and some people are too stupid to figure out how to clean it despite the fact that they are fully modular and you can access almost every part of them with no tools at all. The other possibility is that they don’t clean their filters which is a problem on every vacuum with a filter.

I purchased my v10 less than a month ago. I had a feeling the v11 would be out soon bc they dropped the price of the v10 on their website. But I’m still very happy with my v10. We have a black lab, a long haired cat, and a toddler and our house is 90% carpet and the v10 handles it all! I researched for 2 weeks before I bought my v10 and honestly, the negative reviews were mostly from people that don’t read the fine print. They complain about the battery life but are using it on high power which is totally unnecessary unless you have a pile of dirt or something big to pick up. I use my v10 on medium power for carpets then low-medium power for hard floors and it does perfectly fine. I can get my entire 1st floor, stairs, couches, and hard floors (kitchen, half bath, and entry way) done and STILL have battery power left! We have a 2,000 sq ft house. And I thought the v10 had the same sensor for carpet to hard floors too, I’ll have to check again but pretty sure I was watching the release video that dyson put up and the guy mentioned it in there. I’m gonna go rewatch that now. Lol. Edit: I rewatched the v10 launch video and it’s not the same sensor as the v11. I think I would really like that feature in the v11. And the new button to switch between low/med/high power is nice too rather than having a switch. Idk about 4.5 hr charge time and the extra pound of weight though. But I know it gives it more suction power.

How about small candypapers. I have a V10 for 6 months now and one difference between the V10 en a normal (Miele) Vacuumcleaner is handling small candypaper. A traditional vacuumcleaner can handle this kind of debrie easily, but a V10 struggles a lot with this. It seems that de opening directly behind the suctionhead is squeezed. At this place candypapers get stuck most of the time. My theorie is that the squeezing is necessary for a higher air speed.

Never again will I go back to buying regular vacuums this shit is by far the best thing I could have bought for our home I never would have noticed how dirty my carpet was with the cheep $150 vacuums this shit was worth every penny you do get for what you pay for

I found a v10 absolute about $100 cheaper than the v11 animal. Is the V11 animal with the $100 difference without the upgraded screen as the torque has worth the difference? My other concern is it not having the soft brush as my house is 80% hard floor vs 20% carpet and I’m afraid the V11 attachment will scrape a wood floor....

I'm really torn by the V8/V10/V11 and your reviews have been very helpful. My "high bar" is cherios which my kids always spill and my current vacuums just push around. From your reviews, the V8 with the fluffy head or the V10/V11 with either head would be fine. I have almost all hard floors both wood and stone. Would the V10 be best as I don't need the fancy surface dection of the V11? That feature seems a bit problematic in some of the reviews (slow to switch) and I worry that it may reduce the max suction available on my hard floors (but maybe the V11 extra suction would make up for that?). Any thoughts on what would be best for almost exclusively hard floors and some furniture? Thanks!

Gian Cassini you could buy the V10 absolute for $400 on amazon. In my opinion, this would give you the most for your money. Also the low and medium power is enough for cleaning hard floors.

As a V10 user, I disagree about the soft roller's usefulness in a mixed-flooring house. We have mostly hardwood with a few rugs and dog beds on the main floor, so I do the hardwood with the soft roller, and then I switch heads and do the rugs and dog beds before going to the basement (which is carpeted). It works pretty well that way. Sometimes I do use the soft roller on the rugs just because I'm there and I see they're dirty, and it gets about half of the dirt, so I go back over them later after switching heads. My complaint about the soft roller is that if I roll it over a dirt particle backward, while going back and forth to cover an area, the particle sometimes gets picked up by the unpowered rear roller and then deposited back on the floor when I drive it forward again. But, on a smooth, hard floor, the torque drive head has an even lower chance of sucking up dirt while going backward-it just pushes it toward me.

One problem we have with Dyson is their lack of “The Carpet and Rug Institute certification”. We bought an expensive carpet and the manufacturer voids the warranty if you do not use a CRI certified vacuum. I followed up with the CRI and asked why they don’t test dyson, the response was that vendors must submit their vacuums for testing. This whole thing seems like a scam, but it is really frustrating dyson won’t play ball with the CRI. Would like to get your thoughts and if you have been able to get any response from dyson on it.
