I got the outsize yesterday for my birthday! I absolutely love it! I have been vacuuming everything and enjoying bc it’s so satisfying to see such amazing results. I’ve had the dyson ball rolling vacuum for so long and have hated it almost immediately after first use. My carpet in my kids rooms was looking rough, but I was amazed how new it now looks after a couple of rounds with the outsize. I hope you love it as much as I do! Between 2 dogs and having a crappy vacuum, my house desperately needed this amazing machine!
V11 Outsize is not discontinued. It's available here for purchase - www.amazon.com/Dyson-Outsize-Cordless-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B084B9NX7Q?tag=mc_1001-20 If you're able to find just the Outsize cleaning head you can put that on a V15 body / extension wand and it'll get you exactly what you're looking for.
I got the V11 Outsize, I didn’t get the V15. The good thing of the V11 Outsize has two battery so I can switch them out so the batteries don’t wear out.
Many would say the Outsize is too big. It's definitely heavier and more cumbersome to use compared to the V15. I think for most, the overall value + price + size of the V15 makes it the better choice. But if you have a large home and/or you just like the bigger format cleaner then absolutely, the Outsize is the better choice.
Hi Derrick! Quick question- does the XL head work on the regular V11 and the V15? I know they will physically connect, but will it work on those standard sized units? If so, does the auto load sensing also work? Thank you so much for whatever I you can share!
Yes it connects, yes it works, and yes the auto sensing works. Auto sensor is in the head itself, not the body. I wouldn't recommend the XL head for the V10 or lower models, but the V11 and V15 are more than powerful enough to run it.
great video, but Im still undecided on what vacuum to buy ! I have a 2 story house that’s 3100 sq ft. wood floors all downstairs and carpet upstair. 2 dogs and kids! I really like the idea of having 2 batteries but I don't want to make my decision base on that.
Hi there, great video, thank you! I have a question. I purchased the V15 a couple of weeks ago and love it. I had a go of my mum’s V11 outsize today though and it seems to have way more suction. Do you know why this may be? Thank you!
Couple of things to check. 1) Make sure the brushrolls, hose, and dust bin are not clogged or obstructed 2) Most importantly, use the gates on the front of the cleaning head to lower the gates. All gates lower = more seal = greater suction 3) Apologies if it's obvious, but make sure you're on the highest suction mode (controls on the rear display) 4) Empty the dust bin. You'll always get more suction without anything in the dust bin
Alright, I’m looking for the best of dyson stick. I would like your opinion. Would you agree that the suction/hepa filtration/particle sensor makes the v15 detect the superior vacuum? Or should I go for the absolute+, ruling out all reasoning of my place of living. Which would come down to the best? Price is not an issue.
In terms of raw performance, they are basically the same. It's really more a question of attachments and accessories. For my money, I'm going with the V15 Detect. The usability features are cool, laser fluffy head works great, and the general performance specs are as good as it gets.
@@ModernCastle given that the absolute + has all of the attachments + larger bin and same performance. As much as I would like to have the particle sensor because my vacuum would become a cool party favor, lol. I’m going with outsize absolute+ thanks for your help man! Much appreciated, and great review.
@@DukeFerg A perfectly reasonably and good choice. Really impossible to go wrong. Just depends on what's most important for you. Thanks so much for your kind words! Glad to hear the review was helpful.

i am trying to decide between the V12 / V15 / GEN 5.........have a 2300 sq ft house ..mostly hardwood floors except one room is carpeted then a few area rugs.......like the thought of being able to clean upper corners of the walls.....here in Canada the V12 is 899 V15 is 999 and the Gen 5 is 1199....all in Canadian funds....which do you think we would be happy with ? we are 58 years old and bodies are getting old and sore...lol..... thx cheers
So there is no doubt that the Gen5 is the best cordless vacuum on the market (all brands). However, $1,199 CAD is a hard pill to swallow. The performance difference between these 3 models is pretty minor. It's more usability improvement, better attachments, improved display, etc. As long as you don't mind a smaller dust bin I would suggest the V12. It's the lightest and most compact. You do give up some bin size, but I think the physical size makes it worth it. If you don't want to give up the bin then it's just a price point...are the extra bells and whistles of Gen5 worth $199?
Can i know, is it truly better than the dyson animal 3. I’m in between, dyson outsize or animal 3. One being of course chord-less. And the other infinite amount of time. How much more restrictive is maneuverability on a upright vac compared to outsize truly. 🤷🏻♀️ I would love maneuverability/ able to make it handheld. But do have the, time running out bc battery fear😅say if vacuuming car and big house. I am sloww😭😂
In terms of raw cleaning and suction power none of these are better than the Animal 3. But there is no question, any Dyson cordless is easier to maneuver / use. In my view, the cordless options have enough power that I don't feel any lack there. And when you add in the usability advantage it's an easy choice.
SO MY DILEMMA is the V15 or the OUTSIZE PLUS............both should come with all the same attachments right ? the PLUS gives me larger bin / wider motorbar help me decide....lol.....eenie meenie minee moe....this is tougher than i thought when you wanna invest this much money in a Vacuum
Do you have a house larger than 2,500 sq. ft? If so, then probably go Outsize. If not, the smaller and more compact design of the V15 is the better choice as the extra weight / size of the Outsize is overkill.
@@ModernCastle makes sense thx...i just looked up our house size and its only 2200 sq ft thats includes both floors...i want 2 batteries ( will parchase a spare battery )and some of the other attachments like the detail kit and a couple others....the outsize plus is 1249 and the V15 is 999 ( canadian ).....V15 is probably easier to use in the car also i imagine
No, the laser cleaning head is only included with the V15 Detect. However, if you're able to find a standalone V15 Detect cleaning head it will work on the Outsize, V11, or any other V-series vacuum.
Effectively nothing. V11 Outsize is the first version of the Outsize to launch...the following year they simply dropped the "V11" from it and started calling it Outsize, but it's the exact same vacuum.
@@lethaljoker946 Outsize models are overkill for many homes. If you have a large home...say 3,000+ square feet then yes, Outsize is the better choice. But as a general "best" choice I think the V15 is better for most people.
Sorry...I guess I should / could have been more clear. For clarification. V11 Outsize is identical to the "new" Outsize. They just dropped the V11 to reduce confusion (though I'm not sure it actually worked).
@@rustonwheels3064 At the time we released this video (July 16, 2021) they did not. They were functionally identical and the accessory packages were also identical (for US versions).
@@ModernCastle ah i see. here in Germany the V11 Outsize is rated with 545W (no laser cleaner head, no "hair" cleaner head) vs the Outsize Absolute is rated with 610W.
@@rustonwheels3064 Very interesting. It's so hard to keep up with all of Dysons international versions. They seem to do something slightly different in almost every country market.
1st THANK YOU for such informative videos!! If I have tile and low profile high-end loop carpet and 3 sets of stairs with that carpet... is there one over the other you recommend.... or a different one? No pets or kids
You're welcome! None of these are particularly better or worse for your setup. V15 is still the best overall performer and best usability...Outsize and still the highest suction / largest bin / largest run time. Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with any of these options.
Also, my V6 has had a solid 5 years under its belt, is there any program to trade up? The vacuum guy local to me wouldn’t touch it and sending it to Dyson meant vacuum- less for 4-6 weeks… which my golden retriever ain’t having.
question. hows the emptying on the dust bin for the v7/8 models? my goldens hair gets wrapped and stuck easily. im set on the v15 for the features but wouldnt mind looking into some cheaper options
I'd go V15 with that setup. Max suction power, max run time. You don't have the extra bin size of the Outsize, but you don't really need it with 1500 sq. ft.
I’m waiting for the restock to purchase the v15 but I really hate that there’s no on/off switch but instead I have to hold my finger on it the whole time. Is there another vacuum that’s decently good that has a switch?
