Dyson V8 no power - easy fix

This Dyson V8 has no power, battery led indicators are working fine, the battery is charging, and replacing the battery didn`t solve this issue.
It looks like one of the battery lead connectors is loose and creates a bad connection with the mainboard.
I suspect that the screw entered the terminal on the board crookedly and the torque limit set on the screwdriver was reached, so the technician moved on to the next screw, without noticing that the screw is not mounted correctly.
Due to the high current, the terminal on the wire was welded to the terminal on the board and it worked like that for a while until, due to vibrations, the wire came off and could not be welded back due to the accumulated oxide on the terminals.

Thanks for posting this. My Dyson is only 3 months old. It charges and we followed everything in this video and it still wont work when pulling the trigger..

Hi, Thanks for the video. My V8 has no power as well. The blue light on my V8 flashes "abnormally fast" regardless being charged or not. I followed your instruction but nothing changes and the connection is clean. I also checked the filter and other parts, but they seem to be all fine. Should I change the battery?

Hi, is the battery charging normally? Normally, all 3 LEDs turn off when the battery is fully charged. When you say that the blue LED blinks "abnormally fast", which of the LEDs are you referring to? The battery should have 3 LEDs. If the first LED flashes, this means that the battery is discharged. Try to test the vacuum cleaner with the power level selector on the first position (not MAX).

I just got one of these (free from a neighbor) and it works fine in normal mode but when I switch to Max Suction mode, it stays in normal and there is no increase in suction. What might the problem be and do you think it's worth trying to fix or just leave it alone and use it in normal mode?

When you move the slider from normal mode to MAX, you actually move a small magnet that activates a hall sensor inside the main body. I think you should check the hall sensor, maybe is not in place or is not properly connected to the PCB.

Still the blue lights. So it's not the switch, since the blue lights come on when pressed. The battery was fine prior to "the water incident" where a certain someone sucked up a bit. Is there a sensor that could be damaged?

Maybe the water got inside the vacuum cleaner and affected the electronic board or the motor. If you could dismantle it completely, you could create a better image.

Not my issue the vacuum motor works fine it wont power the motorized attachments ever for more than a second or two they all work on other identical V8 and it is not dirty connection was hoping to find a fix....might be the whole board needs replacement not worth it i imagine

Hi my vaccum got stopped working after vacuuming the carpet which has water. I tried to dry it. I see the battery is getting charged but when I try to switch it on the red light shows up. Does this steps solves the problem. Appreciate your insights on this

Hello, my opinion is that the problem is with the electronic board. Probably liquid got inside the vacuum cleaner. I recommend that you disassemble the vacuum cleaner and clean the electronic board.
