Didn't know you guys got the Raptor. How you liking that? I still remember your Ursa 12K video, convinced me to get that, love it. I had RED for a decade but I'm really digging BM these days... but I love the Raptor sensor.
Why the lens cap is shaped as this ? Well, I guess this is to avoid the "succion cup" effect. It would, no doubt, appear when you try to pull the cap off the lens after 3 or 4 mm of throw (or so)... making the removal a weird experience, especially in public. Imagine yourself "popping" a lens cap everytime you're about to use your 16 mm optic, the whole crew would flock for (real, French !) Champagne as seagulls would for herrings. Perhaps am I wrong, perhaps not... yet experience tells me, from previous misadventures, this happens and this happens mostly when you don't want it to ! Noises, you know...
This lens seems disappointing compared to the rest of the set. I’m hoping @DZOfilm will add a 18mm or 20mm with more consistent characteristics of the set to squeeze in between this and the 25mm. Which are my favorite two focal lengths for wide shots.
I don't know, but looking at that fire scene at night seemed so lackluster. Seriously can get better-looking footage with my iPhone 12 max compared to that RED and lens combo.
CA, breathing, distortion, weird flares. I really want to like these lenses but this and the whole set seems to disappoint. Great review though! Hoping the new Samyang Meisters check all the boxes...
You could either use rear filtration if you are adapting it or with front, you will need to test and make sure whatever matte box solution you use doesn't vignette with the sensor format you are wanting to use. If you are looking to grab a solution for it, email us at care@cvp.com Jake
I mean guys, yes, it flares. But please look at these comparison and see how the Cooke flares. Lenses flare sometimes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GbdulAkxXq8.html
