We are diving once more deep into the realm of anamorphic shooting, with DZO new 2x anamorphic lenses… the PAVO. Full blown anamorphic cine lenses that try to win the hearts of the community by offering a classic anamorphic look while still being light and small enough to fit smaller production needs… without sacrificing image quality?! All that at a competitive price?!
Let’s see if DZOfilm built the one lens to rule them all … we put the PAVO anamorphic lenses to the test. We brought a PAVO set in the studio, and made a shootout against an Atlas Orion. Our test footage has been shot on Alexa, a MAVO, and a Lumix S5IIx. We also included some experiments with anamorphic auto focus using a DJI LiDAR system. After all that we bring the PAVO on location to tell you, how they work in a tough production environment.
