E-BIKES DO NOT SUCK | My E-Genius First Ride Vlog 

I'm close to 50, kids and work get in the way of regular exercise and I'm just not able to stay as fit as my twenties. This is when the ebike comes in. I can go a few weeks without exercise and then bam, I'm hitting the old trails like a 20 year old again. I love it.

I’m not a fan of Ebikes but that doesn’t give me any rights to vilify those who are, as long as they are enjoying themselves and getting out& having fun on the trails who am I to tell them not to. If someoneovertakes me on an Ebike I’ll quite happily say hello and chat to a fellowrider even if I’m struggling to breathe :). I ride XC/Enduro/DH and Road… and may in future come around and buy an Ebikefor my stable just for something different, also I’m sick to death of groups of people telling other groups they should be like them. Motor assisted long travel does indeed sound tempting as it could open up much more for me to ride, personally don’t see too much value in short travel XC style Ebikes but if that’s what people want let them IMO. Demoed one last weekend at Cardingham woods in Cornwall. What a hoot, turned the normal bull**** climbs into another fun part of the trail that had to be tackled, and then I still had all the energy I needed for the downhills which normally I'd just be spent for and kinda coast through. I can also see it'd be good for XC as I live in one of the highest points in Cornwall and everything ends with a big climb back up, not fun if you've done some serious miles first. But for what I do now, I don't need one, but I'd take one for a blast if given the chance again.

im 50plus and spent yrs stuck in the house with anxiety, but in my youth loved biking , now i can get out again but unfit i got a ebike so its fun again happy chappy again

I demoed one just recently and they are ridiculously fun. They are very big for the downhills but if you are looking to ride a lot then an ebike will take you all over the mountain

people can talk s^&t about Ebikes all they want. They have great potential. As long as the rest of the bike parts and build quality dont suffer they make otherwise no ride areas rideable. I wish I could afford one. Im really bad at hills on road and off and could sometimes use the help..Good video Scotty..

Such a lovely place. We went up to loch ness / inverness recently. We are seriously thinking of moving to Scotland.

I was a die hard hater of E-bikes until I tried one. Now my quick after work 30km ride transformed into 45km of fun even in the steep climbs, at 20km/h of average speed. People don’t want to understand that unless you’re a lazy ass, the physical effort remains the same, you just go faster. I’ll take the criticism though, with a big smile on my face. ;)

This is why i chose the focus jam 2, Due to the tec battery add on, I very much doubt you would of had power issues with the focus jam or focus sam, Got to admit though that bike you have is a lovely looking bike 👍

I rode my 1st e-MTB today, it was a 2017 Trek Powerfly, great fun, almost too easy. I still prefer my Trek Stache, but it would be fun to rent an e-bike once in a while, especially on vacation.

And you8 tune the motor to go 50km/h instead of 25 and it's awesome. Problem is it's imposible to go with such bike on whole day epics or even month every day 50km-100km riding.

When comes out the downhill bike build video?

Not a fan of ebikes but I imagine they are pretty fun and if I was given one for free I wouldn't say no. That said its not true mountain biking and they are less environmentally friendly. For someone who doesn't need one because of disability they would need to be a second bike really which makes them even more unaffordable and they are limited by the battery life and massive all day rides is the only time I would consider using one. This was one of your best vids to date through very well edited and the music was great (volume levels too)

Ahhh, this is why I adore e bikes, opening whole new world of possibilities and joy, going to places where I couldn't on a standard bike! Next month I'm getting Scott Genius E 900, can't wait, I'll even put it in my bed the first night haha

AWESOME VIDEO, DUDE 👍 you're really changing my opinion on e-bikes! can't say that I hated them earlier, I rather thought it's something useless and made for those reach lazy dummies, but damn, you're opening absolutely new horizons with this bike and that's so cool 😮🔥 so yeah, e-bikes don't suck, haters do) still it doesn't mean that I'll get one for myself 😂

If you lived in a city like Porto, full of hills, ups and downs you would understand why some people like ebikes

Amazing location with a gorgeous bike ! I personally do not ride E-bikes but it’s really cool to see how the electronic assist allowed you to reach places where most bikes and riders would have struggled to. Keep up with the great content !

Great video. But there is something wrong with your mic. It has this constant low beep tone.

Don't get me wrong, I think that e-bikes are a wonderful asset for people with disabilities or that normally can't ride trails. I just recently was at a bike park called skypark though where you ride to the top yourself and earn the downhill, there I saw a little shredder about only 9 years old riding an e-bike with his brother who was about the same age. I personally think that's a little ridiculous because at age 9 I was riding everything myself and really appreciating everything more. I personally don't think that people who have the energy and skill to ride a normal bike should be on an e-bike because they don't experience the workout on the climb and won't develop into stronger riders.

Thers a couple of guys at work who have e- mtbs, both are over weight by around 3 stone, but they claim ebikes require the same rider input, i rode with one guy and he sat at 15 mph in eco the whole commute and was bragging how he kept up with me, by there very nature e bikes assist, good for people that need a little help, massive fun in full assist but please just be honest and say iam not fit enough to ride a regular bike, we live in a world where people will take the easier option, would i buy one, yes for outright fun, but i would keep my regular bike for fitness

Another great eBike video simply ruined by the end of it when the battery goes flat. Ebike manufacturers need to pay more attention to the distance traveled not only to the bikes best look. I've just got back from Brecon Beacons in Wales riding "the Gap" etc doing daily 35-45 miles with very steep hills and still having some life left on the end of each day in my 20Ah (1000Wh) eBike battery. Peace ❣️❣️❣️

what about the range? not even a word about the range of the biggest battery pack. I bet it's well below 100k, I'd estimate a maxium of 60/70k (with 2000 m altitude climb) with a lighter rider .... and a trained rider rides without any problems above 100k and 3000 m altitude difference ...

Now if you want to REALLY "level up" your ride you have to try your E-genius with a 29" front wheel. Trust me, you'll never go back!

Rode them. Don’t care for them or all the hype. It’s really a different sport. Not interest in the least. Getting tired and push YOURSELF is the point. In the highest setting, the motor is doing most of the work. No thanks.
