You have a beautiful country, Viktor!! I couldn't do anything like this, because it takes somewhere between 5 and 7 days just to cross Canada, or maybe even longer, if you stop to see the sights. lol There aren't many roads to the northern part of our country, as it's mostly tundra and very unstable in places. I would love to go cross-country here, as my brother lives on the other end of the country, in British Columbia. I live on the Atlantic coast in a little province called New Brunswick. Oh, well. I get to enjoy your country by being the quiet little traveler in your camera. I don't need food or bathroom breaks either. I can just pause you and go do that. lol!!! Have a wonderful week!!!
Thank you for your comment! Driving for several days just to get from one place for another is something I've never done, I can't imagine living in such big countries like Canada or the US. Where I live you don't even need a car to get to most places -even small villages have bus routes. I only drive because I want to and that makes me so happy as I get to enjoy it!
@@RoadsofEuropeverreme There is a complicated bus system (too few buses, I think), and a train that I can take to go to BC, but even those take days and days. lol I think the bus is 10 to 14 days (too many stops along the way), and the train is around 7 days. (really nice route, but have to switch trains in one major city).
Great one! I have my reservations when it comes to the upgrades. Despite the apparent greatness of the city in Barcelona, it still has an important history of suburban sprawl, it seems. So, will it really be fair to add a second carriageway to the whole of this road, or will it fall to the trap of induced demand that so many US urban highways fall on, and also induces more sprawl as a consequence? Of course it's a Euro city so it might not happen since... the suburban field isn't filled with single family houses, but I see a pattern here.
It's a bit more complex than that because Barcelona is unable to grow anymore. The suburbs are the ones that are sprawling. There's not a uniform metro area this far from the city but you can definitely see some growth patterns. Population growth is minimal in Catalonia but pressure due to tourism is pushing many people out of Barcelona to the suburbs. There's no US-style sprawl since most homes are either apartments or small semi-detached ones and the Anoia and Bages are still largely empty when compared to the overpopulated Baix Llobregat and Vallès Occidental. But there's been no thorough studies of urban growth in this area, and they have to be done to assess what can be developed and what can't.
Great video and the chat! Have you seen both numeric and alphanumeric route that is used Australia? The alphanumeric route is heavily based on UK numbering system. For alphanumeric, they use M for motorway (not used in state of Northern Territory and Tasmania), A for primary highways which is used in all states, B for less important route, an alternative to M or A route (not used in state of Queensland). Also without linking A routes. C for linking smaller settlements and to rest of major network (not used in state of Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, and Queensland. South Australia uses C only connect to Victoria). D for detour route (only on state of New South Wales. The South Australia has four but none of them is signed). And R for ring routes only for state of South Australia. The usage of numeric routes varies by state.
@@RoadsofEuropeverreme Lol did you accidently live streamed the video earlier than usual? There was only me and one other person on the chat and you were not there. We just saw first few minutes of your video before you take the video down.
Do they? VW Golf are quite mainstream cars though a red one with the "sporty" bodykit is always something to fear. BMW drivers have a bad reputation everywhere I think.
