Thanks Scott! RID is nothing to be afraid of...It's just the precursor of every other aspect of life. Soon they will have us logging ever bowel movement so they can tell us what we did wrong. I mean, we lived through Covid, so we know just how far these tyrants will take things! Seriously though, the Federal Government is so far out of control, it's like, how the heck could they even do what they say they're going to do with regard to RID - what a joke. RID will fall flat on it's face, or it will work. If it works, fine...who REALLY wants civil liberties anyway??? If it fails, ummmm, okay, I'll keep flying as usual. What I mean, is okay, we can fight tooth an nail, and raise holy hell, or we can just do what we're going to do anyway, and force them to take action on what's mostly unenforceable anyway. For now, I think they'll probably just back off the date AGAIN, but if they don't, then they'll just have to face all the people who don't give a #2 about their opinion. Sure, some day, they'll come knocking at doors, but hopeful a few brave will stand up for themselves at that point... Happy flying!!!

I bet they are! We need to get the grass in on our grass strip, and then rent a small roller, so I can make it buttery smooth, but fear the compaction might kill the grass. What do you think?

@@BrianPhillipsRC My Club field grass gets rolled at least once a month from April through October with no ill effects. Just don't do it when the ground is really squishy after heavy rains.

We can't wait to be telling you all more about it, but boy-o-boy, we've been watching many a cautionary tail on RU-vid about leaking ponds and all sorts of very expensive headaches we could run into, so as far as the civil engineering goes, we are thinking it may end up being worthwhile after all? Can't wait for the water feature, but I CAN wait to pay for it :(..... Oh well, can't take it with you when you die. Hope we get it situated so we can really capitalize on the space for videos. Megan and I are getting excited. I think the additional money for civil engineering will be money well spent, but just HATE to "have to" do it to appease the county, who is arguably the LEAST impacted of all the entities involved.

1) Good thought. If you're going to invest in a Transmitter, don't chase good money after bad buying a less than needed Transmitter ;) As for IX vs NX - I would not get the DX, since they will lose support eventually, in that their processors are too slow for some of the new, up and coming features...stick to NX or IX. IX is going to be using Android, and NX will use Spektrum's proprietary system....so, you'll have one more layer of potential for firmware changes, FYI...not a deal breaker, or maker in my opinion. As for quality, you'll get the QUALITY you need from NX, but more simplicity on complex planes and heli's on the IX. More frills with the IX, but none that are going to change the way you fly, just easier to setup, AT TIMES... I'd get as many channels as you can afford, like the NX10 will be enough for most, but if you want max bang for the buck, I'd suggest the NX20 - BUT I doubt you'll ever use that many channels...in fact, I bet you'll struggle to use all 10 of the NX10 - I've only done it ONCE. ONE TIME!!! I have hundreds of planes, fyi. bprc.me/NX10 bprc.me/Tx 2) The short answer is NO, but ACTUALLY YES, you can fit it to any plane, if you want to waste a TON of money on the Rx system from the Carbon Cub S2 1.3m (which is NOT beginner friendly, if you ask me - I would NEVER SUGGEST THIS, as it would be a fools errand by the time you got the $300 or so tied up into the "upgrade" quoting US pricing, mind you, and then for what? A plane that will arrest the rate of decent for you....you can do it. You will NEED to do it, and I wouldn't even add the LAS (Landing Aid Sensor), if you were flying the Habu STS 70mm, or the Carbon Cub S2 1.3m, for which it was developed. You don't need it, or want it. It will make an already easy to fly plane, boring...don't do it. Hope these answers help, and please read them with the understanding that I want for your success, and don't mean to be short - you don't need the help you think you need...I'm speaking from experience.

I would get one now and fly it later when you gain more experience. Not a huge seller for horizon and no telling when they will discontinue it. This is now one of my favorite planes in the hanger
