As nice as these planes are, it always blows my mind of how good a quad pilot Alex is with such magical aerial shots he gets. It really makes a difference to have such nice steady shot of all the planes in action thanks to Alex. Cheers.
What a shame. Maybe another 50 ft in altitude and both might have recovered. Please do make a video of the repairs. Will be a great way to show tips on how to repair larger foam aircraft.
Josh... Been trying to grow my interest each day, by watching your videos. Built the mini Scout and have parts on the way. I'm hoping when I finally bring everything together and fly one for the first time, I can laugh and get the fun out of it that you do. You're an inspiration, Brother!! I'll bet you help a lot of people by giving them a creative outlet... and a great way to release the pressure... thanks!
Nathan Adams Thanks for asking ! I have built to 2 Bushwackers, 7 mini arrows, 1 simple cub, 2 pun jets, 2 vectors, 1 ft spear, 2 super bees, 3 bloody barons , and 3 tiny trainers
Photobombed at 10:26 by the shadow of an airliner! Oo Great video! The crash footage easily could be used for air disaster investigation. It's amazing how quickly both planes stalled and spiraled out of control...
Just wonderful boys....this IS my first BIG plane & just had it delivered here in Australia. Not flown yet but once I have the right batteries I will fly it like my Timber. Thank you so much
I'm not a licensed pilot, but I used to fly Cessna 172's when with my friend Eric Hansen who is a licensed pilot. He did the takeoffs and landings. I just did straight and level flying. It was a blast. You certainly can't fly a real one like that, but It's fun to watch.
Thanks from oz flight test for all your gr8 video's. Makes life a lot easier when trying to choose your next plane and you guys doing all the hard yards in your reviews to see if it is worth it or not.. keep up the good work.
I appreciate your honesty and showing the crash. For the time being, I am going to keep beating up my WR-DTFB planes. So long as I don't physically lose it, it's not hard to fix. Lost one so far!
With crashes like this I honestly think balsa repair is easier than semi costly complete foam replacements. That's a $15 balsa and covering crash assuming the firewall is ok. Landing gear should be designed to break away cleanly, not rip a large chunk out of the fuselage.
That is a Mississippi Kite! They are a specialist falcon in multiple element air combat maneuvering. They fly from South America in mating pairs to nest in the south and midwest US States. They can kill and eat continuously on the wing as a team for 10,000+ miles! They are aerial masters of maneuvering, timing and tactics. Kites will tolerate some species of birds, but anything else (model airplanes included) near their summer breeding nest. I can tell you one will dive and attack while the other one is climbing to do the same. They will grab the nose of your plane with talons and fold their wings and ride you straight into the dirt.
Beautiful vid brothers! This looks like a step way up from the Apprentice S 15 E with S.A.F.E.! Looks like E-Flite listened and made a plane capable of bigger batteries and even more cells plus flaps, wow! I fly my Apprentices with a 5,000 mAh battery already but a 7,000 won't fit in the battery bay. The quad flying and getting most of the vid was AMAZING! Great work!
Thanks for showing that mid-air and crash. Glad I'm not the only one. Just pile drived my brand new bloody wonder this morning. After only 2 batteries through it I lost radio reception. I wont buy any more off brand spectrum compatible receivers again
Ouch! :( At the beginning of the re-build video you should have the intro from the original six million dollar man "Gentlemen we can rebuild him. We have the technology" :D Yes I am that old
That's horrible n too fun to fix all the crap parts with hot glue. My cessna 182 500 class was crashed. When I saw the crash, I'm stuck for the 3 to 5 min. I can't imagine what I have to do now. Bt I picked the all the parts and put all together. Now I have my cessna n great memory of it. I hope you guys fix it soon n show us the 2nd flying video. 😍😍😍😍
FliteTest I had to trade up for a Cessna 170 that can fit the whole family and is a little better for the type of flying I like to do. The 150 isn't very good at bush flying.
AWESOME VIDEO GUYS! .. The one thing I'll mention is that on a grass field I've now had two nose gear fatalities, not of my fault mind you, but that the tiny metal rod inside the top of the gear is too soft of a metal, so if there are grass clumps in the field (most fields have them, crabgrass etc.,), the gear will bend backwards against the shroud, paved is best way to go! Otherwise, I really do enjoy this plane, everything and more than what I was expecting for my first large scale! Thanks Again F.T.!
It's crazy how often midair crashes happen. The chances of it happening is still very slim even being in the same airspace. Im referring to when not flying in formation. Flying in formation obviously has a greater chance of making contact than 2 random planes not in formation. Ive seen one first hand but it still blows my mind that it happens. Both of those planes look fine. The ESC on the one will be the biggest repair, but the other might have had a chance of landing if a little higher. Although i think the airleron on that one was the one that was pulled away from the wing making it very difficult.
Great review and spot on! I really like mine. I hope that one day E-Flite will bring out the C-152 Aerobat! That would just be a slight change to the Fuselage.
10:49 I love how slowly the music starts changing LOL! 11:39 That slo mo always gets me ROFL! Another fun episode guys I wonder Josh which Cessna will you be flying more the Eflite 150 or the Flex 170???
If you want to test a great plane, test the Multiplex FunCub XL. There are NO gyro's inside. It's Big, 1.8m span with 6 cell LiPo. Very powerful and can be used for teaching others to fly RC airplanes. One of our members has this airplane and I'm teaching him to fly with it. No expo (I hate expo, you don't have a nice linear response) just set the rates to 60% and you can teach everyone. In wind gust over 5 Beaufort it glides in like a nice heavy big RC airplane.
Jeff Mueller I have the sport cub s2, I think it's 1.3 meter? I've thought about setting it up for fpv but for some reason it makes me nervous! I do (poorly) fly quads and have an f-27 now...
The place I go to fly has two eagles that always attack my planes. They're gliders so actually you have nowhere to go when they pursue you. They've come as far as clamping their claws in the wings!
Great video - really excellent drone. Camera work by the way . Thanks I just ordered one yesterday. Just a very small point, the chillwave background music is really repetitive, and after a while detracts from the video, IMHO. You might consider using music that follows the story arcs.
I just bought one and the weather here went to. $#//! Well hopefully you will develop snow skis soon as im in snow country . But hey. Awesome plane David Payne .
Great vid! That said I'm still a bit of a noob and don't completely understand what types of planes can do what types of tricks. I hear references to "pattern" planes, 3-D, "basic" tricks, etc, but I've not yet found a good explanation of those terms and how they relate. Any chance that you guys could do a video on the different types/classes/difficulty of tricks with fixed wing aircraft? Just a thought.
OK, maybe a nit, but Milli amp HOUR. A milli amp is a unit of current. mAh is a unit of capacity. Neat plane though, I would think for a novice...take it up to altitude and practice several mistakes high, and be able to regain control easily by turning it back on. Would have liked a feature like that 50 years ago, but hey, I was happy just to have proportional multiple channel systems then. Single channel at a time reeds, and pulsed rudder systems not long before that. Good point about glider tows. Did that once with a heli, just for fun. It worked, but had no interest in trying it a second time, that glider was being taken up tail first, and it was all over the place! OUCH, crap, at the end. Good point about picking up all the pieces, but if you are missing one, it's not hard to cut out the area, obtain some of the same type/density foam, and cut a piece to fit into your cut out volume (just the glued sides), keep the others slightly oversize to the final shape, glue it in, and reshape it after cure initially with a knife, and finally with sandpaper. It sometimes helps to slightly undercut the glue joints with a knife first as you sand down to the final shape, but try not to get them below the final contour.
Must be nice to have free planes to destroy. Plus the CZ Cub is STILL my favorite plane. 10 minute field set up, TOPS... I have the Cessna too, LOVE it! Landings are my favorite part. It handles like a direct cross between my CZ Cub & CZ T-28. Drinks a bit more battery than my cub though. I still like the video over all, just hate to see em go in.
haha I can say that we PLAN to do a REPAIR video where we tackle the problem from two different directions to rebuild and fly both planes that suffered a rough "landing" ;)
The propeller came of the one plane just hitting foam..and you never had one bad point which is seems more like a Advertisement video then a review. Looked great tho
Crashing just means your learning. Everybody crashes, and those who say they have never crashed are straight up lying. Still, even though there was a fatality, very nice planes
