We want to review what you want to see. For this review, we brought the community to the hobby shop with us! Check out the Carbon-Z T-28: www.horizonhobb... Want more Flite Test?: flitetest.com/
+DoctorWildstylez Yes Balsawood would be nice. Rewiew this www.geocities.ws/i96_les/speedster_400/construction/construction.html Only thre Sheets 2, 3 and 8 mm one of each.Small and fast and have to be converted to brushless (thats something i would like to see)
+Brian Evans If you are looking for Quadcopter stuff, there is a place in Kempton Park that has a few good deals. I also came across a few hobby stores in Pretoria and can give you the contact details if you want. The place in Kempton has some good stuff, i bought my first multi-rotor from them. I live in Clarens, in the Free State.
Nice T-28. Dad was a Flight Instructor at NAS Pensacola in VT-10 where he flew T-34s. Flew the 28s as well, and always said it was his favorite aircraft to fly.
I have two T-28 Trojans. The first is the Parkzone T-28 that I bought several months ago - and installed the E-Flite retracts per Flite Test's instructional video. The second is the E-Flite Carbon-Z T-28. Wow! Both planes are very easy to fly, and very forgiving. The CZ Trojan gets a lot of attention at the flying field due to its size. It also has a great presence in the air. I would recommend the Parkzone Trojan to practice, but not to move to the Carbon-Z until you have a lot of experience. Believe me, you DON'T want to crash this one. Also, transportation is an issue, even when it's disassembled. I have a Hyundai Genesis coupe, so when I go to fly, it's the only plane I have room for.
Hi there, I have been flying for 35 years but mostly balsa planes with fourstroke engines. Ive never had a Trojan before and im seriously thinking of buying this plane as its just been re-released. I wont be able to fly it with the Spektrum radio safe stabiliser as I only ever use Futaba 2.4 radio gear. Do you fly your Trojan with with Spektrum safe? Also are the retracts strong enough for our club grass runway? Also am I right in saying that there is a great sound of this plane while in flight as I like that in a model plane? Sorry for all the questions but I would love your opinion before I buy the plane? Thank you and much appreciated.
Dear FliteTest, Please build 2 very large planes (Like the Circle plane or Multi wing plane) and use them for combat. That would be one AMAZING episode.
In my opinion, the best thing about your videos is the fact that you can actually perform decent landings. There are too many people that just drop the damn plane out of the air.
You guys are so great, and I wanton say thanks for introducing me to the hobby! I just built the nutball (and crashed and broke the firewall) and I enjoyed flying it so much!!! I just got my AMA youth membership, and I'm excited to see more great things from you! I loved the tiny trainer, spitfire, and off course the nutball!
Thank you fellas for putting together a review on an awesome ready built plane. The T-28 is one of my favourites as I used to work on them. Though I did like the way you used to intro with the planes in the studio and have a really good talk about the good & bad points. This is definitely one for the wish list. Thanks again.
Good on periscope, glad you all are using that. Always glad when my cell gets a P-scope notice from you guys. That has added a lot to the FTest experience. Did not know you can do the heart thing - guess I have to find out more about that. Nice plane, above my budget but I like to see what's out there. Good info on the batteries, that kind of info is useful to us out here. A balsa/fuel plane here or there would be cool. Seems there is a fair amount of interest from people who have only flown leccies to try fuel. Right now you can get glow engines pretty cheap, and whole planes on craigslist for less than the price of an engine alone.
I somehow missed this review 4 years ago, but since I've been flying this plane on the SIM, RU-vid has somehow noticed and recommended (I may have looked up Trojans). Either way. Thank the sky gods for the FliteTest backlog. From the 2020 viewer, signing off.
Holy cow, this thing flies straight and true, haven't seen anything like this in a while. And it sounds perfect. Looks and behaves very scale. It was very fun to watch. Excellent video shooting and editing, top notch! You picked a nice part of day, with the late afternoon sun and epic colors. Well done!
Your video convinced me. It is my birthday this month, and I was going to get the carbon z cub. I have the parkzone t-28 and when you said this flies just like that, I decided that the carbon z t-28 was going to be my first large bird. Keep up the great work.
I really like how you guys used periscope to pick the review subject. The periscope sessions really remind me of the first days of Flitetest and why I enjoy watching?
Got this plane a few weeks ago, best foam plane I have owned. Flies just like the small one :) Only thing I didnt like were the gear door hinges, which were made of plastic...they can break easily, so I advise to clip them off, drill two holes and put a good sized servo rod piece inside :) Works well, and can forgive any hard landing ;) Overall a must have for a RC Flyer :)
For the price, you'd think quality control would spot the motor being wired wrong. Maybe someone did and stripped out the Allen key in a half hearted attempt to put it right. (Possibly finished being made at home time) lmao. It's good you guys talk about it, with luck the makers watch and use your video for feedback.. Thanks for the upload. 👍🏼
Josh & Peter Nice Plane & Great flying ! There is a Guy in our Club has the Z T-28 & it Fly's Nice but Expensive ! Thanks for the Video ! Dave B. Illinois
I'd like to see a nitro video. I believe FliteTest had mentioned the possibility of doing them in the past but I don't believe it has happened. A beginners guide to nitro would be fantastic for those of us who prefer nitro over electric. I inherited some nitros that I would love to fly. A Flite Test video would help a ton! Love what you're doing though!
+Flite Test I'd love to see you do a "fringe" brand plane... Easy Sky makes a Yak-12, sold through HobbyKing... I have one and have had some issues getting it to work as advertised. It's a 5 channel. I bought it RTF, and the radio it comes with has dual-rates built on a switch, which is nice, but you can barely use the lower rates in tight areas, and the normal rates require a football field. I have since upgraded to a FlySky FS-i6 transmitter and receiver running on 2A. This xmtr I can dial in my own rates and such, which is awesome and I cant wait to try it out. I'd like to see what you guys can do with a Easy Sky Yak-12, but use your own xmtr's.... I believe the Turnigy is the same as the FlySky... but even a Spektrum would work... Thanks!
Maybe you could introduce us to flying scale fighterjets(f16/f117/sr71) with actual afterburners. Maybe someone that has one for hobby can explain his and fly it in your show.
We have one in the club. Great model and you are right, floaty on the landing. Lots of fun to fly. Some issues with the retracts. Overall a really cool model. Overall I may buy one.
+Dan Keener You'd take the ball from David's wife though... David is happy as can be back at his home, his own dream business is thriving, he is with his family in his hown home, ... We should accept that.
Just noticed this was 2 years ago, so don't know if you still read these comments. Just wondered, with Peter's rocket knowledge, you could put ejection seats on a plane this big. That might make an interesting challenge.
I love how nice and smooth that airplane flew very fast and I liked how you can stall it and it comes back fast I’d really love to see y’all fly the big nitro Pitt’s special the big 3/4 scale like I have you won’t think it fly’s good but I’d love to see y’all fly it see what y’all think of her she fly’s very nice and smooth
You guys should do a video on the proposal by the US government to require RC planes and quads to be licensed. I would love to hear all of your takes on this.
Your comment about the motor being reversed and stripped screws would have to be blamed on the Hobby Shop or the person who assembled it out of the box. Motor isn't installed from manufacturer...
Nice plane, looks easy to fly. You guys are awesome bro, love the skills you have to fly pretty much anything. I would like to see the Blade Mach 25 drone.
I got a kick out of how the wingspan is longer than peter is tall. you never really appreciate how big these aircraft are until they're stood up beside (or in this case, in front of) a person.
It looks like someone already assembled this plane before you bought it. The motor and cowling aren't installed out of the box so whoever put it together can be blamed for the backwards motor hookup and stripped screw. My cowling came with phillips head screws, not allen screws.
Hey guys!! The more I watch the show, the more I love it :D I have a little idea suggestion ; Could you make a swappable gasoline-pod ? Like you made a while ago for the FT Versa wing, but with a gas powered engine, just for fun ^^ That would be awesome!! P.S.: Sorry for the grammar.. Feel free to correct me, it helps me to learn faster !!
I'd love to see the FMS Edge 540 v3 reviewed. For me, it's a good learning platform, as I'm well capable of keeping it in once piece and get myself to learn a few more complicated maneuvers. But I haven't seen any comments about the plane from more seasoned pilots and would really like to see your opinion.
Too bad you didn't have one of those all in one mini 5.8ghz VTX with camera and antenna, you could put it in place of the mini pilot. i think it would make for an awesome FPV platform... jus sayin. keep up the great work guys. yours truly (Pablo Bettez) on facebook.
how about some basic information on flying your first plane. I built several planes years ago but never had a successful flight. Now as think about it the engine size was too small and i used 5% fuel instead of 15%. And I would give the plane too much elevator/alieron up or down. That's my guess on why not successful.
i would find it beautiful if you guys review a Discus launch Glider like the hobbyking 1,5 m dlg or a other one. i bought a libelle from dreamflight and it was complete crap there were huge holes milled in to boom where it is not even needed.
