Oof, sorry to see this! That's one reason why we don't fly high alpha passes in the distance with heavier models like this. Generally we either perform them toward and away from ourselves. If we fly a circuit in high alpha, we use a lightweight pack to increase critical AoA so it's less likely to bite when the wings become unleveled. Hope you'll get it back up!
Yeah big oof and lesson learned for sure. Unfortunately, the fuselage and one wing isn’t repairable. The wing attachment points sheared where the bolts attach and I wouldn’t trust epoxy or gorilla glue even if I permanently glued the wing on. I ended up ordering the Thunderbird ARF+ so I’ll be back up soon with one of my favorite jets soon.
Yup. The No. One rule in RC flying, which I try to adhere to religiously, but none the less, we all break from time to time (myself included) when we get bold and cocky... when at a distance.... Always... Always keep some blue between your plane and the distant horizon.
Yeah I broke that rule and got bit. I just finished transferring the power system and receiver to the F-16 Thunderbird ARF+. Hopefully maiden flight next week :)
