What firing cycle do you use with Miyo 850? I believe with empress ceram paste you were staining/glazing pre crystallized ceramic and using speed cycle. Is that correct and if so, do is work with Miyo?
Use the regular crystallization cycles for e.max, the beauty of 850 is the colors and glaze can be applied before crystallization, and any follow-up color firings are done with the e.max corrective cycle, great question; all the best.
Yes, regular miYO works well, you do need to fire and crystallize first, and then add to the fired surface, 850 is designed for precrystallization addition, whereas the regular MiYO has a lower fusing temperature, and is not designed for pre-crystallization application, I use both all the time, for instance, I will use 850 on e.max for pre-crystallization if I need any modification after the first fire, then I will use my MiYO aesthetic for the follow-up characterization, the colors in the MiYO aesthetic are better than in the 850, but they're both great products, wishing you all the best.
Great video! Learned a lot in such a short time! -just ordered the 850 kit and received it !!! Regarding eMAX for anteriors-which milling burs are you using and should it be on extra fine all the time? Will this reduce chipping or uneven margins after milling? What is the wetting agent that you are using?
With the Primemill, I use an Extra Fine mill for all ceramics, and for e.max, there is no chipping. The speed for the Extra Fine mill with the Primemill is almost as fast as the Fine mill, but with superior results. The MC XL Extra Fine mill is excellent but significantly slower. The menu on the Primemill will show the but combo and which burs to use. I use about 75mL of the lube addition solution for the Primemill and MC XL.
@@KlimDDS Thank you. #1-I have 2 MCXL's. Which burs should I be using for eMAX, anteriors, also to avoid chipping do have to use extra fine or can we use fine? 2.-When you are using the MIYO 850 you mentioned a wettng agent please elaborate
I use Extra Fine mill all the time. With the Primemill, it is almost as fast as Fine mill and the outcome is superior with no margin chipping on e.max. The wetting agent for MiYO is the liquid that some with the MiYO 850 kit. Only use the liquid to wet the brush, and then mix the glaze before dispensing. The viscosity should be right on.
@@KlimDDS thank you so much I’ve been watching your videos they are awesome… However your recent video said margin thickness of 100 µm… Is that a newer parameter setting
@@drMichalTrochimiuk There are two lines of MiYO. MiYO 850 is for e.max. MiYO Aesthetic, the initial regular line of MiYO, is made for zircona and can be used on ceramics, but not for pre-crystal application on MiYO.
