Some of you have asked for the backing track that accompanies my recent 'Simple Soloing' series. Here it is: It's a static, mid-tempo funk groove in E minor. It's essentially a vamp that hints at Em7 and Em9 chords. Imagine what The Meters might sound like if they grew up in Essex!
For the most tasteful results, use the E minor pentatonic, E blues or E dorian scales. Of course, there are other scales you can use too, so experiment and have fun!
