In this video I cover E-scouting the great majestic moose of BC. I go over a high mountain area that is littered with marshes. A moose paradise. #britishcolumbia #moosehunting #moose #ihunter #hunting
As an ex-silviculturist in BC I'd say those lines you're talking about are the skid trails that a skidder would pull timber out on. They would have likely been planted as well but debris and machinery soil compression likely hinders seedling growth.
great content, I'm a newbie hunter in the making and this year will be my first time getting out. Any chance your taking applications for apprentices 😂
Great video series Spencer! Ill definitely be reviewing these before I head out this year. One thing to consider would be cross referencing the maps, with additional base maps or map apps, especially when it comes to new growth and burns. Like you've stated, boots on the ground is the ultimate factor.👍
The cut lines look to me like a partial cut was done to remove volume without creating a full clear cut. The area might have restrictions for species such as Cariboo
The marsh will be in a depression in the topography. It will either have a green colouring or beige/yellow colouring depending on when the satellite imagery was taken. Thanks for watching!
I came across these cut lines from my hunt last season and they use them like highways to the next slash or marshes I think. found plenty of deer and moose sign in them
