Wow a real sailor at last not afraid of blue water. Most sailing channels start off saying ''we don"t have any experience'' but we will show you how to do it. I left when I was 28 and made a lot of mistakes and lived through it. You have the confidence and skills to follow through and be successful . Good luck and can't wait for more!! New favorite.

Thanks for your video. I subscribed. I lived aboard a sailboat for 43 years. I also had no refrigerator and very few electronics. Culebra for a long time was a bombing range and I wasn't able to go. Good luck.

My wife and I are LI sailors who have never ventured into the blue water of the Atlantic. At our ages, 68 to 76, it is doubtful that will be able to convince her to venture past the LI sound, or Block Island. You remind us of our granddaughter in many ways, so we enjoy your adventures on the open sea and admire your guts and ingenuity.

Huh I had no idea sailors removed the labels from canned goods to prevent cucarachas but it makes total sense. Those little buggers will hid anywhere they can. I learned something new today. :)

Hi Holly, You have a very new fan and subscriber from your very first video and I am now binge watching from the beginning :-) I have to say you are an amazing woman and am totally loving your channel and adventures Holly...I began dreaming of sailing the oceans back in high school and am now 66 and still dream of doing it with even more zeal and fervor, still to this day... I am trying to locate a 27 to 35 foot blue water suitable boat now so I and my very special and future cruise willing lady friend and deepest, supportive love out of Texas and wish to get back to sailing and future cruising one day soon!!!!! I began reading and self learning and teaching myself about sailing soon after high school on a financed and brand new 23 foot American Sloop day sailor, for around two years of ownership and on every weekend I could and teaching myself all the basic fundamentals to sail it on a large local lake in CA. in decent winds and calm and even a few very windy/stormy white cap weather conditions to learn all I could about it and also devouring and studying cruising navigation and cruising books of all kinds for years now for eventual preparation one day ....You are pure and total inspiration Holly and I wish you all the best on your voyages with fair winds and following seas girl.....

Also, as a singlehander, I liked hearing and seeing how you handle different challenges - I'm totally with you on the challenges of raising/dousing the main and not being able to keep the boat pointed up wind without autopilot or a mate.
